Welcome to The Queen"s Head Fyfield, a traditional family run 16th century freehouse country pub, beautifully located on the banks of the River Roding. The Queen's Head uniquely feels like a pub where locals are comfortable nursing a pint of real ale, but is also renowned for good quality seasonal food in contemporary, comfortable surroundings, with friendly service and a warm ambiance. You can choose to eat at big wooden tables in the pub or, if you prefer, in the smart upstairs dining area. Ingredients are locally sourced and everything is made on site. We stock a good selection of real ales and lagers and have an extensive wine list.

Our first visit to this delightful pub, it won’t be our last. Food was excellent, well presented and good choice. Everything obviously cooked to order. The raspberry soufflé was gorgeous. Would certainly recommend a visit.

The Queens Head Fyfield, is a fantastic little restaurant, with a cosy, intimate feel. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help your enjoy a special evening out.
My wife and I had a really enjoyable night, away from the noise of the main high street chains, to this quaint little pub in a great setting. The restaurant inside is inviting and fresh, although managing to maintain a certain historical charm (open fireplace looks great for the winter). I would highly recommend you try the Queens head, who's menu certainly beats it's Michelin starred competitors for taste, comfort, and of course variety!

The food was delicious, scotch egg starter was especially good. Cod main was cooked perfectly but beware, it’s huge! The staff were very friendly but seemed busy

One of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time. My husband had the king prawns as a starter which were really tasty, both our roast dinners were excellent and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for. We will definitely be back for more!

We found the food and service good, but it was a bit noisy as tables are placed very close to each other.

I am sorry to say the service was v slow. This didn’t affect our experience at all as we had lots of catching up to do . Once the drinks had been ordered it took a long time and we had to request the menus.

Not really for vegetarians had to ask the chief what he could do. Mushroom linguine which was greasy, small portion. Expensive evening, wouldn’t go again. Sorry.

Dinner was really good. There’s a real cosy intimate feel especially in winter with candles lit and the log fires. Food was terrific. Every course was lovely and beautifully presented, with the best of it being a wonderful Rabbit Casserole!! Service is prompt and friendly and overall thought it was excellent value for money.

Too many old pubs have missed the boat in updating to the current lifestyle of wining and dining. So many resort to full-on restaurants and lose the ambience and clientele for those who want their local pub. The Queen's Head is both a local pub and an exquisite dining venue. The warm, cosy atmosphere and cheerful, helpful efficient staff blended with superb food made this a night to remember for our special anniversary dinner. It may be small but it is a gem worth seeking out.

The Queens Head lift the average pub Sunday dinner to a higher level. Okay it costs around a 1/3 more than other local pubs, but the quality of cooking, ingrediants, presentation and staffing levels take the meal to a different level. It made the date a really memorable occasion.

Recommended as a good food pub by my brother. Went for my partners birthday.
Ambiance and service good. Sunday menu only available and fish special all ready sold out.
Starters and desert were good but the roast dinner? If I had been to a commercial chain l would have been disappointed.
Meat grisly and tough, not real roast potatoes, broccoli more raw than al dente.
Side of cauliflower cheese was good.
Potatoes mentioned to staff with response of will let the chief know.
