We have been regulars for over 10 yers food service and experiece are always great. Honestly have not visited as often lately as there have been three significant price increases over the past year with no additional benefit to the customer. I understand the 4% cost of living surcharge as minimum wage in our state has rocketed recently but thats in addition to an across the board increase on the menu of 10% to 15%. Plan on spemding over $200 a couple.
Service was great and food was yummy. I do enjoy the melting pot but think it’s a bit over priced.
The server came to the table and introduced herself then asked us “what do you want to do”. No have you been here, do you know how this works etc. Luckily we have been there before and knew the drill. In the beginning, it seemed like she was rushing us. Wanted us to order drinks and meal all at one time. She forgot my wine flight twice.
We were seated next to the kitchen and could constantly hear the staff talking. The light above me was so bright and tight in my eyes.
Celebrating daughters 20th. Great service from start to finish. Must try the cast iron grill - the meats were delicious grilled Enjoyed the manager stopping by to visit. Great waitress too. Another great experience at The Melting Pot, Tacoma
Our waiter was super nice and the food was very good!
It was a nice birthday celebration! A different experience cooking at the table, but the food was great and everyone stuffed when leaving! Fun experience.
Our waiter was the worst. He never brought us water. Even after asking him for it twice. We had our cheese and salad before we finally asked someone else. He never came back to check on us. It was a very underwhelming experience. I have another reservation there this weekend. I hope for a better experience this time.
We got there way before any other tables around us. They were on there 3rd course before we got our 2 nd course. In order to get drinks refilled we had to ask. It took 3 1/2 hrs to get out last course the fruit and chocolate. It was our 1st time and I definitely won't be going back again. We were there because my son's fiance wanted to go there for her night out before the wedding.. A big disappointment.
I took my son there for his first time. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, but not overly intrusive. The food was delicious. We were there in the early afternoon, when it wasn't busy at all so the environment was very relaxed. Overall great experience.
I went to have a quiet dinner with my girlfriend. The ambiance was excellent. The food was excellent and plentiful. Fondue is a great way to eat. It allows you to enjoy your food while have conversation with the person your with. Our service was excellent. Megan was attentive to us and the food came at just the right times. WE did the four course menu option and shared it. We will be back!
Enjoyed the experience. Food and service was great.
Very nice atmosphere. Very well be valued great staff. Went above and beyond for our 11th anniversary
I got the ultimate romance package for our anniversary. The package promised a private table, which was a booth with an extra wall to create privacy. Felt a bit claustrophobic. The roses on the table were in a vase with plant food and no water. The dessert plate that was supposed to have a special message written on it never made it to the table at any point.
As for the restaurant location, if you are looking to spend 2-3 hours having food cooked at your table in a place with no air circulation or A/C, then this is the place for you.
Our server Alex was great. Having only been there for 2 weeks, she did a good job.
The night started out awesome! Booked a table for my husband and I for date night!
Unfortunately halfway through our salads a family with loud children was seated right next to us.
Pretty unfortunate and inconsiderate considering we told the hostess we were celebrating a special event.
I hope they take this into consideration for the future not just for myself but for others!
This isn’t a cheap restaurant and it sucks when you have kids throwing a fit one table over because they don’t have ketchup or barbecue sauce for their fondue chicken....
Took a friend here for her Birthday dinner this week and it was quite the experience! The whole process of a 4 course meal is going to take well over an hour and if you are having good conversation and company, plan for at least two hours. Ordering a full meal is kind of intense, there are a ton of options and choices you have to make even after you’ve decided which meal you’d like. It’s pretty spendy... there were three of us there for dinner and we ordered two full course meals for the three of us to share and we all left feeling very very full, happy, satisfied and content. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are prepared to spend a lot, take your sweet time to eat, and are ready to cook your own raw meat (yep). I would go back for another special occasion, but this is definitely not the kind of place you go on the regular.
Always my number one indulgence for my birthday and it never disappoints!
Absolutely worth every calorie.
It was a very good meal, excellent service....very fun!!
Over all good experience. The hostess seated other parties ahead of us even though we had reservations.
Waiter was unresponsive and extremely forgetful.
Some of the food delivered was not what was ordered.
Drinks were not refilled, it seems the 4 percent surcharge has made the staff not care about service.
I could have taken my wife out for her birthday at a much less expensive location and had way better experience.
Our server was wonderful, very attentive!
Great ambiance, just a wonderful time
This is our go to restaurant for a long, romantic date night. Always good food, good ambiance and good drinks.
I brought my wife to The Melting Pot for our 11 year anniversary and it was perfect. We each had the 4 course meal and every thing was absolutely delicious. Even the salads were better than entrees I've eaten at other restaurants. By the time deserts came in, we were full, but everything was so indulgent, that we ate anyway. Easily the best food I've ever eaten at a restaurant, I loved it.
We were there especially for Ladies Night Flamingle. Location, food, hostesses, bussers and management (love you Peter) oh and vendors were fabulous. Our server, Leilani, was nice enough but was very attentive to all of her other tables so much so that we couldn’t even get her attention for water refills. She buzzed passed our table so quickly we barely had a chance to open our mouths. And we were ready. She did not bring my salad to go either.
Great girls night out event. Leilani is a fabulous server.
Service was outstanding, and as always the food was delish!
Not enough cheese
Chocolate was not warm
Server rushed us to pay
Too expensive for the amount of food provided.
Been to the Melting Pot in Tacoma at least three times. Been to the one in Orlando more than that. The person I was dining with had been to Bellevue and Seattle. This was the worse experience at any Melting Pot.
We were sat right next to a corner, every 5-10 minutes we heard "corner". If we had played a drinking game, I would have been inebriated by the end.
The server was lacking, she was nice. We created our own chocolate and she left the alcohol just sitting on the table with no spoon, every other location pours it in. This might have been because of how we ordered (I will get to that in a second).
The salad course was lacking. I got a house salad and it was very small compared to previous visits. My dressing was on the salad, the other diner salad had the dressing on the side?
Lastly in an effort not to eat too much, we decided on cheese, salad and chocolate. Maybe the server due to our ticket size left us alone more and more throughout dinner or she received more tables on opposite sides of the restaurant (Orlando at one point did this). Either was the service was not good. This was over a hundred dollars. Previously when I ordered al a carte with an alcoholic drink it has never been that much. Lastly, they add a surcharge, because Washington state increased minimum wage. If you Google, there is some questions about whether the owners are pocketing the surcharge. Also if this is a political statement, I don't care, it's their restaurant, they can do what they want. A four percent surcharge that comes out to about two dollars is not the end of the world, if it means a living wage, I am dubious with the questions surrounding it... When I go out I don't want to have to be reminded of all the drama in the world. I want to have a nice time and that ruined it.
Tldr: Overtly expensive (over what was expected), poor service, food was meh, and drama regarding surcharge ruined my experience.
Loved everything but the price. Hadn’t been ina year and some of the menu changes were interesting but the price has gone up!
Great experience and our server was fantastic! The food was delicious as well.
Limited parking—got the last non-valet spot. Nice atmosphere , friendly staff. Noise level was fine. Nice bathrooms. Took 10-15 minutes to get our beverages delivered. Should’ve been half that, given the simplicity of our order. We’d not been there before, so had some difficulty understanding how to order—server was patient with us, but had trouble explaining the concept clearly to us. Food was very good, but the steam from the pots was off-putting—would’ve appreciated a little more ventilation.
I would have given this more stars; however, I had one point that bothered me. Since we had a reservation, we could not be seated until our entire part of 3 (waiting on one person to arrive) showed up. Instead of being seated and at least getting a drink started, we had to wait in the 'Waiting Area'. Sure, we probably could have sat at the bar, but we had a table reservation (for which we arrived prior to the 15 minute time limit). I had the utmost confidence in the hostess's abilities to be able to find our table again for the last person in our party once he arrived.
We had to wait even we had a reservation.
The server was gone all the time and we never got to ask questions.
I like the concept of the restaurant and the food but I Would not recommend this Tacoma location to anyone.
A 4% surcharge??? Really??
Hidden fees on almost a $300 bill already. A family of 4 cannot afford this place. Too bad cause the food was good and service was great but we will not be back! BE AWARE CONSUMERS OF THIS FEE
I spent over $200 for two people and I had a bowl of food we were going to bring home and it was thrown away. Ugh
The Melting Pot is a decent place to go to feel like you are having a fancy night out. They tend to be quite crowded most evenings, so expect it to be loud and the service to be slow, even considering the restaurant's note that a meal takes two hours. The prices are extremely high for what you get, though the food is tasty, so keep an eye out for a Groupon deal, which are common.
What a great place to enjoy some awesome food! Loved it!
One of the best places to go with people you enjoy visiting with. Very laid back atmosphere and the fondue gives lots of time to talk in between. It's expensive or we'd go more often.
Foods were fresh. Service was just right. Fancy dining, but with a casual atmosphere.
