We were there especially for Ladies Night Flamingle. Location, food, hostesses, bussers and management (love you Peter) oh and vendors were fabulous. Our server, Leilani, was nice enough but was very attentive to all of her other tables so much so that we couldn’t even get her attention for water refills. She buzzed passed our table so quickly we barely had a chance to open our mouths. And we were ready. She did not bring my salad to go either.
Great girls night out event. Leilani is a fabulous server.
Service was outstanding, and as always the food was delish!
Not enough cheese
Chocolate was not warm
Server rushed us to pay
Too expensive for the amount of food provided.
Been to the Melting Pot in Tacoma at least three times. Been to the one in Orlando more than that. The person I was dining with had been to Bellevue and Seattle. This was the worse experience at any Melting Pot.
We were sat right next to a corner, every 5-10 minutes we heard "corner". If we had played a drinking game, I would have been inebriated by the end.
The server was lacking, she was nice. We created our own chocolate and she left the alcohol just sitting on the table with no spoon, every other location pours it in. This might have been because of how we ordered (I will get to that in a second).
The salad course was lacking. I got a house salad and it was very small compared to previous visits. My dressing was on the salad, the other diner salad had the dressing on the side?
Lastly in an effort not to eat too much, we decided on cheese, salad and chocolate. Maybe the server due to our ticket size left us alone more and more throughout dinner or she received more tables on opposite sides of the restaurant (Orlando at one point did this). Either was the service was not good. This was over a hundred dollars. Previously when I ordered al a carte with an alcoholic drink it has never been that much. Lastly, they add a surcharge, because Washington state increased minimum wage. If you Google, there is some questions about whether the owners are pocketing the surcharge. Also if this is a political statement, I don't care, it's their restaurant, they can do what they want. A four percent surcharge that comes out to about two dollars is not the end of the world, if it means a living wage, I am dubious with the questions surrounding it... When I go out I don't want to have to be reminded of all the drama in the world. I want to have a nice time and that ruined it.
Tldr: Overtly expensive (over what was expected), poor service, food was meh, and drama regarding surcharge ruined my experience.
Loved everything but the price. Hadn’t been ina year and some of the menu changes were interesting but the price has gone up!
Great experience and our server was fantastic! The food was delicious as well.
Limited parking—got the last non-valet spot. Nice atmosphere , friendly staff. Noise level was fine. Nice bathrooms. Took 10-15 minutes to get our beverages delivered. Should’ve been half that, given the simplicity of our order. We’d not been there before, so had some difficulty understanding how to order—server was patient with us, but had trouble explaining the concept clearly to us. Food was very good, but the steam from the pots was off-putting—would’ve appreciated a little more ventilation.
I would have given this more stars; however, I had one point that bothered me. Since we had a reservation, we could not be seated until our entire part of 3 (waiting on one person to arrive) showed up. Instead of being seated and at least getting a drink started, we had to wait in the 'Waiting Area'. Sure, we probably could have sat at the bar, but we had a table reservation (for which we arrived prior to the 15 minute time limit). I had the utmost confidence in the hostess's abilities to be able to find our table again for the last person in our party once he arrived.
We had to wait even we had a reservation.
The server was gone all the time and we never got to ask questions.
I like the concept of the restaurant and the food but I Would not recommend this Tacoma location to anyone.
A 4% surcharge??? Really??
Hidden fees on almost a $300 bill already. A family of 4 cannot afford this place. Too bad cause the food was good and service was great but we will not be back! BE AWARE CONSUMERS OF THIS FEE
I spent over $200 for two people and I had a bowl of food we were going to bring home and it was thrown away. Ugh
The Melting Pot is a decent place to go to feel like you are having a fancy night out. They tend to be quite crowded most evenings, so expect it to be loud and the service to be slow, even considering the restaurant's note that a meal takes two hours. The prices are extremely high for what you get, though the food is tasty, so keep an eye out for a Groupon deal, which are common.
What a great place to enjoy some awesome food! Loved it!
One of the best places to go with people you enjoy visiting with. Very laid back atmosphere and the fondue gives lots of time to talk in between. It's expensive or we'd go more often.
Foods were fresh. Service was just right. Fancy dining, but with a casual atmosphere.
A little dark in my opinion and the warmer/fondue pot was a little of a reach at our table and I'm 6'3" with long arms. My 5'3" wife had a bit more difficulty seeing in and reaching the fondue pot. Very pleasant and professional staff and very tasty food! We split one meal and it was more than enough food for us.
The food was very good as usual but it was incredibly warm and it seemed management was not concerned about the temperature. I am just glad we were downstairs rather than upstairs.
I enjoy going to the Melting Pot, and the food is very good, but I really wish the prices were a little lower, especially on drinks. $12 for a basic margarita seems a bit high. We had a Groupon and it included a salad, but honestly, if I didn't have the Groupon, I would have skipped the salad. Normally, I love a good salad, but their salads are incredibly overpriced. It's a nice place to go every once and a while, but the prices prohibit me from going regularly.
great food, excellent service. The price was a bit high, however, our family love going to eat and hang out.
Great place to take a family for that special event. Be ready for a hefty bill at the end.
no, too expensive. you have unfairly jacked up your prices, food portions are smaller, and we were rushed out of there in 90 minutes instead of the usual 2 hours.
Silverware was dirty had hard food stuck to it. Drinks took half of the meal to get to the table. Waitress hardly checked on us and didn't explain the menu to my 2 friends who had never been before. Also portions were very small. For spending $300 for 3 people I would have thought the service would have been better and the utensils would be clean
It has hubby’s birthday and it was perfect. Food was excellent and our server made it even more special.
If we hadn't had a Groupon, I would not have been happy with the $160 bill for two. On the positive side, it was quiet thanks to the numerous partitions in the restaurant, which I assume is to run the electrical for each table's hot plate. The cheese fondue itself was good. The dark/white chocolate dessert fondue was also good. The not so good: the apples and carrots that came with the cheese fondue had an off taste, and both seemed as if they had been soaking in water prior to delivery as part of our meal. The drink orders were unbelievably slow, and our server commented that the bar was "backed up". It doesn't take much to pour a glass of wine. My husband's Arnold Palmer was mostly iced tea and had to be corrected. We had various meats/shrimp in the Coq au Vin cooking style. It was okay. Our server was new and trying hard. The bus boy kept taking things off of our table, like quickly removing our additional fondue forks, that we needed. Overall, it was an expensive, disjointed experience. I don't think we'll be back.
We had 3 servers. The first one greeted us with an annoyed attitude and demeanor. She literally told us she was in a bad mood. We ended up moving to the bar because we were sweating so much because of the lack of air conditioning in the dining area. The next waiter was a bit more chipper but lacked enthusiasm. ( at least it was cooler) We asked several questions regarding the different options in which he barely could answer , didn’t comment at all or left to ask someone. First day maybe? Which was annoying because they seemed to us like basic questions one would ask when visiting the restaurant for the first time. Also we had to wait for our beverages which seemed like forever( very slow service)
We asked for water with our wine and cocktails and never received them. So we had to get them ourselves at the bar. While waiting for our meal we ordered another round of drinks which were reordered wrong and had to be sent back.
Finally out of frustration we asked to speak to a manager who was nice and gave us our third waiter and a free bottle of wine. The last waiter was super attentive, informed and fast. For the amount we paid for, the requests we asked, were basic and simple. We won’t be coming back for a date night again.
Everything about our dining experience was superb with excellent food and a most exceptional waitress named Chloe!
It was pretty dead for a Thursday which made it odd that service was especially slow (slower than on a busy day). Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I love The Melting Pot because who doesn't love fondue? I go about once every 6 months or more because it is so expensive. This time when I went the service was terrible. Every time I have gone to The Melting Pot, I've always had pretty decent service. I will still continue to go with the hopes that the service improves.
I believe Bellevue experience was a bit more satisfying. Each course was taken after one was finished, so it added more excitement I feel. Bellevue added the veggies for you. I also enjoyed the chocolate more in Bellevue because at tacoma, it got so hot so fast it almost tasted burnt. My duck was very fatty at tacoma as to the very nice not fatty pieces at Bellevue. Taking my friend for the first time was awesome as I had my first weeks earlier in Bellevue. Overall, it was delightful and we had a wonderful time. Our server was very nice and patient. He was probably the best part of the tacoma experience. I plan to go again with my husband and son very soon, but I think we'll either try Seattle or return to Bellevue.
We received such get service. The good Was amazing. The prices are a little high I think for the amount of meat you receive, but the dessert makes up for it. We only attend the melting pot about twice a year as we have kids and don't get out much, so its a very nice date night.
Our waiter was awesome, but it was way overpriced. No starch just vegetable and meat. Will not return.
It was great. Eric our server was the best. Our food was all very good a positive experience
We came to celebrate my daughter's 25th birthday, our server was named Leilani, she was absolutely amazing. Thank you!!!
I requested 1st floor seating and that was honored. We were seated quickly. The server came to take our order promptly. The cheese course was delicious. We had our salads boxed to go. The entrees were fresh and delicious cooked in the mojo cooking style. We chose bananas foster for dessert. As always it was scrumptious.
Second time in and tried the grilling at the table, it was so much better then boiling (in my families opinion, the boiling seems to take the seasoning out of the meats and just adds an icky watery flavor). The best is the dessert of course!!! The cheese and breads is yummy but I find the consistency a tad off, but we will for sure be back!!! Maybe we will just go in for a dessert date!!! Love us some chocolate fondue!!! Our server was amazing!! And we paid extra for balloons and chocolate covered strawberries at our table for my sons birthday, he really enjoyed that! Prices are high but it is the experience you are really paying for it’s a lot of fun to sit around the pot and cook and talk, I would say this is probably the only restaurant you go to and don’t look at your phone because your bored or are waiting for food!! Great place! ❤️
Joseph was great. Only suggestion would be, when the manger is walking around, he may want to introduce himself before he just steps up to the table and starts talking. We had no idea who he was and thought maybe it was another Patreon of the restaurant.
WAY too expensive!!! Bread seemed stale, meat was ok, desserts were fabulous!!!
We were somewhat disappointed in our server. I believe his name was Joseph. At first he was very attentive to our needs but as the evening progressed he was less and less attentive. He stopped by his other tables much more frequently than ours. He forgot to bring us items that we requested and those things ended up being brought to us by one of the bussers, Alex. She was absolutely fantastic. She went above and beyond her job role to assist us and it was very appreciated. She followed through on everything we asked for and completed tasks that should have been done by Joseph. Because of this we felt it only fair to give her a portion of the tip that would have gone to him had he spent as much time with us as he did with his other tables. If you are in need of servers, I highly recommend Alex!
