We've been coming here for years but the food was not up to the usual high standard at all. The vegan fish and chips was very poor, tasteless and not at all pleasant. The staff were lovely but as it was very quiet they kept on trying to clear our table before we had finished. All in all not a good lunch at all.

We ate in the large garden sheltered by trees. A table on the patio was available but next to speakers so bit off putting. Table service was offered and we were served promptly by friendly staff. The Timothy Taylor Landlord was well kept. Our meals - ham egg chips & superfood salad - were both very good and a sizeable portion. Interior looked lovely & toileys were spotless. A nice find.

Great outside table on the hottest day so far and covered. The eggs benedict were deemed excellent as was my bacon butty in granary bread. Lovely coffee and chilled out!

The servers were helpful, polite and efficient.
The Covid protocol was followed clearly.
The food and drinks were excellent.
There was a good variety of places to choose where to sit: patio, garden or inside.

Only the second time I have been here. The staff are so lovely and friendly it makes it such a pleasure and I will be visiting more often.
The food is good. The only thing that, in my opinion, let’s it down is the chips. They are somewhat bleh and a bit tasteless. Otherwise, I have no complaints about anything else I ordered.

Catch up with friends on a Tuesday evening. Several nice vegan choices for us which were appreciated. Will be back for monthly vegan night. Good friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere. Lots of room in the car park. Covid security good with tables clearly marked they had been sanitised.

I had lamb. Cooked for three hours? In the microwave maybe. Dry doesn't begin to cover it My partner had smoked chicken salad. Very very solid chicken. A shame. Lovely pub. Brilliant staff. Dreadful chef.

Visited on a Tuesday lunchtime. Open table booking hadn’t been received but we were fitted in anyway. Excellent service, great menu choice and very tasty and hot food. Great local beer too. Will visit again and would highly recommend.

Love this pub, always has great food and does not disappoint. We had a late Sunday lunch before the England game....... it was piping hot, served quickly by very attentive staff.

We will be back, again and again, just keep up the great service and serving great food.

Disappointed after our last visit. Staff were absolutely lovely, beautiful place but I'm afraid food was poor this time round. Dry roast potatoes, dry chicken, fishcake was very dry and tasteless, chunky chips at £4.95 were not chunky and seemed like the last of the batch, very crispy and broken into small chips. Not sure that we will be back again.

We eat here often and usually love it but it took 20mins to get a drink (in fact the starter arrived before we even got a drink!), the nacho starter was well overcooked and parts of it were too hard to eat and my chips were undercooked and soggy. The veggie burger wasn't that special either! Usually you do such a great job! A blip maybe.

Great food, service attentive, nice seating options, I can't really find much to fault or productively feedback on. We returned the next morning for breakfast as well, which was nice too, although the black pudding was a bit crisp i.e. couldn't break. Nevertheless, service impeccable and we will certainly be returning.

The food ranged from excellent to very poor. The wine was served under chilled despite requests to ensure it was well chilled. At 10 pounds a glass we expected better.
Service was acceptable but by no means good enough when every customer should be treated like hold dust in these difficult times...
Sadly we wont bad returning..

We really enjoyed lunch at the Little Brown Jug. All the staff there were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and it's very well placed for a post lunch walk in the surrounding countryside.
Lots of parking, we'll return soon.

My husband and I were recommended this place by a friend so we drove 45 mins each way and it didn’t disappoint! Every staff member was friendly, attentive and helpful. I could not fault anyone!
The food…..oh wow the food. It was delicious, piping hot, fresh and moist. Very very good portion sizes and a lot of flavour! Normal I can handle 3 courses but I was full after the starter!! 🤣
We came here for our wedding anniversary and they surprised us by letting us have a hut outside!
Thank you for making our anniversary memorable and the dining experience so wonderful.

Always enjoy the ambience and dim lighting here. I had the burger and wife and kids had the fish and chips. Everyone polished everything off - food was great. Service was also exceptional! Thank you. I gave it a 4 star because the table next to us had Peppa Pig blaring out for half of the meal. All in all highly recommended and we’ll be heading back again soon for those amazing fish and chips!
