Sunday Lunch
The Kew Gardens hotel is a newly renovated Gastro pub, bar and 20 bedroom boutique hotel. We are situated in the heart of Kew village (west London) but away from the hustle & bustle of the city life. Our restaurant is located adjacent but slightly hidden from our main bar area where we offer a formal table service. Our menu changes on a monthly basis depending on what is in season and best at market. Boasting an extensive but not expensive wine list which is also updated frequently by regular wine tastings for guests and customers to help us choose our list. The bar is the main feature of the whole building, dominating you as you walk in with an open fire with large comfy sofas. Our full al a carte menu is available in the bar or if your after something a bit lighter we serve an all day bar snack menu. Offering a selection of 4x ever changing ales, an extensive wine list, an extensive whisky and brandy list, cocktails plus an exquisite range of house & premium spirits.

We came for Sunday lunch and all agreed that this was one of the best pub Sunday lunches we have had. The portions were generous and the meat was perfectly cooked. Very friendly service too :)

We went at 5pm on Sunday and felt the staff were a little tired after the full-on Sunday lunch earlier, but we were happy with our experience nevertheless

Last minute supper before going to Kew. Fish pie was full of fish, perfect. Fish and chips crisp and lovely. Smoked haddock a bit cold. Two out of three ain’t bad? Great service tho.

Flat iron steak, chunky chips and a crave of Pinot noir. All you need right there. Lovely waitress too

Seated quickly but service took forever. We ordered and almost an hour later our mains finally arrived after we had to ask and were told a party of 11 upstairs was causing the delay. The restaurant was not even 1/4 full so that seemed like a lame excuse. The food was so-so; fish & chips were soggy and tasteless and chips were underdone. The fish pate was terrible. None of the chips were correct (rosemary vs plain). Very underwhelming.

We’ve really liked dining at The Kew Garden Hotel during our stay in the neighborhood. The food is very good with a varied and interesting menu especially if, like us, you enjoy fish. The restaurant space in this lively pub is large, has plenty of character with a nice choice of seating. The patio is lovely on warm summer nights. Our one complaint is the really slow service. We’ve had dinner 3 times in the past month and each time we’ve had a long wait before our entrees arrived.

I do really like the Kew Gardens Hotel to eat in. The food is good and it's a cosy comfortable place to be, although not hugely expensive, it is on the expensive side.

Fantastic restaurant just a stone's throw from Kew Garden. The staff were all incredibly friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The menu has a good range of dishes and everyone in our party found something to tempt their tastebuds. We'll definitely be visiting again.

I paid £200 for a dingy pokey double room with no wardrobe, no dressing table, no chair, no space to make a drink and incredibly hot and stuffy. The shower and toilet was so small and basic with no grab rails or anti slip mat and inadequate ventilation. AWFUL and EXPENSIVE - A RIP-OFF!!

The Kew Garden Hotel is my local place actually and I have always enjoyed coming here for the nice food and atmosphere. Normally the service is also really great but was lacking a bit this time as one of the service staff seems to think it was too much effort for her to take our order outside. Luckily another of her colleagues made up for it - but was just a bit disappointing. The food was nice as always but portions a bit small this time - so think there is room for a few improvements.

We went for sunday lunch and the food was delicious and generous. There is not a huge choice of dishes, especially for vegans or vegetarians, but what we had we all enjoyed. However, I was most impressed that the wine list was marked with wines suitable for vegans / vegetarians. This is something extremely rare to come across and i really appreciated it. A brilliant step forward!

Both my partner and I had the venison ragu but it did not have much flavour and was just about warm enough to eat. My other two friends had lovely hot and delicious meals. Burger and fish. Service was v professional

We had excellent service at the Kew Garden Hotel and good food. A treat to have so many vegetarian choices and the vegan fish and chips was delicious. The restaurant has a great ambiance and the staff are particularly friendly. I left my mobile behind and they rescued it for me until I was able to return and collect. This is our first visit but we will come again and recommend it to our friends. Very handy for Kew Garden Station and Kew Gardens. Glad we have discovered this pub/hotel.

Frankly rather disappointing. Strong fish smell as walked into the pub which was remarkably empty bearing in mind we were in the pre Xmas period. Frankly I might have left if we hadn’t got a table booked and we weren’t with friends. Food was OK but seemed a bit pricey

Sadly a terrible experience all round, food took 2 hours to arrive, we were late for our slot at Christmas at Kew and 2 of the meals were undercooked. Rooms are basic but clean and not as I expected having looked at the website. The boiler broke overnight so there was no hot water or heating and breakfast the following morning (although lovely) took nearly an hour. The staff did their best but unfortunately just a catalogue of problems from start to end :(

We had the roast and it was delicious! Their yorkshire pudding is probably the best I've had. Also, don't forget to try the stick date pudding!
Great place for Sunday lunch!

Tried a different location for lunch before a lovely stroll in the gardens, v nice and friendly server, the food was good although tiny portions of greens,
and a small bit of carrot and 3 very small roasts was very mean and unnessary, had to ask for more gravy as my partner had barely enough to cover her food, yorkshire was adequate but hardly the best in town, overall and pleasant lunch let down but silly veg portions, £90 for inc 2 sides and a bottle of wine.

Kew Garden Hotel Restaurant was quite close to our flat and we were considering to try here for a while. Last Friday we've found the occasion with my family of three to try. The menu is quite unique and calls for every kind of taste&expectations. We've tried the scallopes, stuffed chicken and lamb steak along with a few pints of delicious lager and ale. My son selected the fish & chips from the kids menu and it was both delicious and could stuff a grown up man. The service was great, considering it was quite crowded during a Friday evening, we've had everything in time and place. The waitresses were quite friendly and helpful about sharing their recommendations when asked for the drinks. Thanks for everything and we sure'll be back!

P.S: Book a seat early in the day before giving here a try since it gets quite crowded around restaurants at Kew, especially during Friday and weekend evenings.

We’ve been regulars here over several years but the food has taken a nose dive. My sea bass dish was stone cold and the advertised fondant potatoes were tiny, rock hard and burnt beyond forgiveness. My husband’s fish and chips were not as good as they used to be but edible. To be fair, the staff immediately apologised and deducted the cost of my dish from our bill. We were impressed by their professionalism especially the new lady Nichola but it’s such a shame that an otherwise lovely venue is let down by a struggling menu.

Booked online and had a choice of seating when we arrived. Buzzy atmosphere and great service from the bar and wait staff. My husband had scallops which were exceptionally well cooked, delicate and served in their shells. My sole was cooked to perfection with a delicious brown shrimp, samphire and tomato sauce and we both had chips as side dishes, hot, crisp and salty just as they should be.
When it was to leave the bar staff kindly ordered us a black cab so that we didn’t need to walk home in heavy rain. I can thoroughly recommend the Kew Gardens hotel, prices are reasonable and the food is excellent.
