The Jugged Hare offers a vibrant dining experience with a focus on game dishes, "excellent service," and a "cozy vibe." Patrons rave about the "fantastic Sunday roast" and "delicious food." While the lively atmosphere is a highlight, some note it can be "noisy" due to the bar proximity.

our dinner table had magically morphed into a "drinks only table" So we had to sit in tall booths, but one of us is disabled and can't bend one leg and this was very uncomfortable. Asked to be moved to a regular table asap as I could see one free, but had to ask several times the restaurant manager, and resorted to book it through my phone while sitting on the booth and message front of the house through the app, so eventually they gave us the table but it was such an inconvenience, not to mention the lack of common sense from the front of the house, failing to understand that my request was genuine and that making accommodation asap was required. The food was good but could have been better, overall the experience haphazard, the front of the house made a mess with their inflexibility. Shame, because we like to go to new places with an actual working kitchen, and the place was very promising but failed to deliver in customer service.

This is a busy pub with a separate area for dining. We had a pre-theatre dinner which was tasty. Not that the pre-theatre price does not include any sides. We both ordered the cod 'cheeks' as a starter and we got a single 'cheek'. Not sure if they were running short but it did feel a little like an 'amuse bouche' rather than an actual dish. Two cheeks each, one from either side and we might not have felt so surprised - or they should amend to menu to say 'cheek'.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed your pre-theatre dinner and found the food tasty. However, we're sorry that the portion size of the cod cheeks starter fell short of your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding both the portion and the menu description, and we'll certainly pass these on to our kitchen team for consideration. Your feedback is valuable in helping us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a better experience.

It has been a number of years since our last visit. We really liked the idea of a traditional Sunday Lunch menu, with interesting first courses and puds. The service was immaculate. We had a time limit, which was kept to, without our being, or feeling, rushed in any way. The choice of wines by the glass was good and to offer fine wines stored under a Corovin was a nice touch. We are likely to be back during the week.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We're delighted you enjoyed our traditional Sunday lunch menu and the selection of starters, desserts and wines. It's particularly lovely to hear that our team provided attentive service while ensuring you could enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace and still meet your time commitment. We're also pleased you appreciated our Coravin wine selection. We look forward to welcoming you back for a midweek visit soon!

Great Sunday lunch concept, with steady service throughout the afternoon. Lots of serving staff circulating but had to wait a while before one came to us. Excellent menu though and good range of wines

Hugely disappointing - long story short seated a little late ordered drinks which took forever - ordered starters and mains - starters arrived ok - then mains Sunday Roast never arrived - after waiting over over hour after our starters were cleared we still hadn't had our mains and no one explained or advised why or when -everyone was avoiding eye contact so obviously they were aware - so settled our bill and left - slack - shame as was looking forward to it and the mains we could see looked fine - just incredibly slack and chaotic service - very very underwhelming

No water pot to freshen fingers after peeling prawns. No mint sauce. Meat was so fatty I just ate none. Cold in there. Will not go back.
