Ivy Kensington Brasserie
Sample our extensive range of quality food and delicious cocktails at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or are visiting some of London’s best loved landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall.
Our garden terrace is situated at the back of our restaurant and provides the perfect respite away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Adorned with flowers and foliage, it is the perfect spot to soak up the sun during the summer months. Due to the nature of British summer our terrace cannot be booked ahead, so please just pop in.
Open seven days a week and comprised of a main restaurant, bar and a semi-private table for ten for an extra special experience, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
Great lunch catch up with friends. The food was delicious and plentiful. We chose a more expensive wine which made the bill quite expensive as we drank so much! We weren’t hurried from our table and when they did need it for a 4pm tea booking, they gave us a great table on a terrace I didn’t know about.
Definitely recommend lunch here.
Great place for a late supper after a visit to the Royal Albert hall
The service was attentive and the server was knowledgeable about the menu. The food came quickly and was nice, desserts were a little underwhelming-but still perfectly nice. The server brought us a little petite four as a celebration (the meal was a reunion) which was a nice touch.
Had a lovely evening, I have given high scores due to service , food, ambience, all of which were perfect.
I will definitely return when I visit London again and will recommend to friends.
Nice venue just opposite High St Ken Tube. Others in this chain have nicer interiors (Bishopsgate and Marlow have airy garden feel to them) but that is because of space availability. Very good quality.
Service was good until had to pay the bill. I had to go and find someone in the end and when I did their card machine ran out of paper which took two of them to sort out. But that said the waiter serving us was very polite and attentive. It was the bill paying that stopped this being 5 star rating.
Food was good. Really nice bar area. Very high quality interior generally.
Toilet was very small. Only room for two in a bar/restaurant that holds about 100 diners. This again may be a space issue for the property but it is too small.
First world problems on my part perhaps. Overall it was a good venue that I would return to. Food very good. Wine very good. Waiter excellent.
Pretentious, over priced and waitress serving rude and unfriendly. Food over priced and not the standard expected from The Ivy.
Very nice food and very good service
I recommend this place
Very busy time Saturday lunch
The food could have been better
The drinks should be at a reasonable price
Overall only average
Sweet potato curry was not very good at all, for any amount of money, much less the Ivy premium price. I usually really like this place so was surprised to find the food so mediocre. Pot coffee was also not very hot and the milk not warmed as I’d asked. Hopefully a one-off bad experience as the food is usually great here.
Great buzzy atmosphere... Great friendly and efficient service. Unfortunate amount of gristle in duck curry...
We had travelled to London for a weekend break the brassiere was a short walk from our hotel it was superb will definitely be returning
We had the set menu, the food was very good , the service was good. Overall a good experience
Fairly mediocre experience in an otherwise quite nice setting. The service was really poor - got my order wrong and seemed annoyed when I pointed it out and asked to change it; after which we were completely ignored. Food (breakfast) was average
the vegetarian food menu at the Ivy Brasserie on Kensington High Street was enticing and we both ordered exclusively from that menu. Sadly when our food came we were served the meat version of the shepherds pie (from the main menu we hadn’t even looked at) rather than the vegetarian version we ordered. Having tasted it - and consumed my first meat for over 30 years - I queried whether it was actually the vegetarian version with our waiter. He seemed surprised that anyone would want the vegetarian version and barely apologetic for his mistake. He did move to get us a replacement vegetarian version quite quickly and another member of staff came and apologised a little more fully but offered nothing to make up for the mistake. To add insult to injury, when got the bill they had charged us for both the meat and the vegetarian shepherds pies! When we queried the bill they corrected it and comped my coffee - the cheapest thing we ordered - to make up for the inconvenience. I was expecting the vegetarian shepherds pie to be taken off the bill as well to be honest because they had made two mistakes and serving meat to a vegetarian is a big problem. Maybe they looked at us and judged we weren’t likely to be regular clientele- not entitled or loud enough- so felt they could get away without offering anything else. Quite sad as the room is beautiful and the food is good - especially a starter of mushrooms and potato rosti, which was delicious!
I visited the Ivy Kensington Brasserie with my friend for her birthday, plus her Mum and her friend. We were heading to see Cirque du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall afterwards, so we were particularly fond of the special Cirque set menu. It was such brilliant value for money, and the food and cocktails was all fantastic. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. My friend is vegan and allergic to nuts, and the staff and kitchen were so accommodating with this. The waiter also brought out a special vegan dessert for my friend at the end!
The staff were great in letting me keep my lunch table for another meeting. Very kind of them.
nice food and nice surrounding
I didn't think it was anything special, the fish dish was average not worth the price also chocy bomb was not great and the rum ba ba was awful. One of the waitress hem was down. Not a great day. Definitely not worth the money.
Food was average given the price. Also £5 for a basket of bread is excessive.
Fantastic as always, great food, atmosphere and staff. Christian excellent and I think Alan superb. Visit four Ivy Brasseries regularly............................... Excellent staff to customer service. Highly recommended...............
Lovely environment and very helpful staff. Delicious food too. We always have a good time here
Our evening was very enjoyable. We will definitely be returning.
I am not sure what I was expecting but I came away disappointed. The food was nice enough, but very small portions. The service was incredibly slow and the staff indifferent to us and everybody else in the restaurant I suspect. It wasn't worth the best part of £200 that I spent.
Lövely dining experience with beautiful food and friendly and attentive service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. M&J. Australia
Service at The Ivy Kensington has repeatedly been inconsistent: sometimes very good, but with regular mistakes in orders and/or absence (failing to check on us after extended periods of time). Food choice is OK, although not terribly intriguing. Food quality is also OK, but also never exceptional. We go there for the ambiance, which is really nice, but always leave a bit disappointed with the overall experience.
Although we enjoyed the food experience, the lady who showed us to our table was not welcoming and sullen. However the waiters who served us were very friendly and efficient
We also found the seating arrangements were too close to the diners either side of us
Always a treat to visit the IB, the staff are always lovely and the food is great!
Excellent food excellent venue. I went with my wife for her birthday lunch and they even arranged for an individual birthday cake, totally unsolicited. Old fashioned service.
Great food, service and ambiance. Only downer is that there always seems to be a puddle under the men's urinal. Otherwise tip top.
A goog place for a quick but at the same time gourmet lunch
Great night to celebrate a birthday. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely recommend and we will be sure to go again!
Fish was poor and chips were over fried, too oily,
Not sure, having had to send my fish and chips back. Fish okay but the batter very very soggy.
We were having our last dinner in London after a week’s holiday over Christmas. Even after Nee Year’s it was still beautifully decorated for Christmas and was a perfect place to celebrate a wonderful trip.
I booked a table as a Christmas present for our friends on your website after reading a special offer of a two course set menu. What a disappointment when we arrived to be told it was not available which meant our bill was more than we anticipated.
Food was amazing, service was really lacking unfortunately. I believe amazing food should come with amazing service and this wasn’t delivered. Prices were worth it as the food was beautiful
The Pumpkin soup and lobster linguine were great, but the signature Gin and tonic was AHHMAZING!!!!
Great restaurant. Excellent menu, superb service, moderately priced.
