Ivy Kensington Brasserie
Sample our extensive range of quality food and delicious cocktails at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or are visiting some of London’s best loved landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall.
Our garden terrace is situated at the back of our restaurant and provides the perfect respite away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Adorned with flowers and foliage, it is the perfect spot to soak up the sun during the summer months. Due to the nature of British summer our terrace cannot be booked ahead, so please just pop in.
Open seven days a week and comprised of a main restaurant, bar and a semi-private table for ten for an extra special experience, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
good food. good service at the table. terrible experience at the entrance. entitled obnoxious unhelpful hosts at reception and very arrogant manager.
I have been here before for breakfast it was amazing. However I booked for breakfast 11.30 which it allowed me to book on open table. When we arrived they told us they were no longer doing breakfast and that the rules had changed. We were given the main menu and Lunch menu. Which I believe was about £18 for a 2 course. I ordered the onion soup it was nice, the others ordered the crab cake which were nice. Our mains were Lamb which was ok the lamb was quite fatty and the mash was not nice couldn't eat it. My mother ordered the salmon she said that was lovely. My brother and wife ordered steak egg and chips which they said was ok nothing spectacular, that they would not return. I have been to a few of the Ivy branches and have usually had a good experience. I brought my family there as they came over from abroad but they didn't enjoy it unfortunately. I would return for breakfast only if I was to go again.
Food was outstanding although service was slow. But altogether had a lovely time
Lovely ambience, especially with the Christmas decorations. Good choice of good. The eggs royale were amazing. Obviously organic very fresh eggs with a really orange yolk. Best I've ever tasted. Good service but not pushy or rushed. Perfect.
Lovely food and festive atmosphere - waitress was grumpy and obviously wished she was somewhere else which was a shame!
Too busy and little customer care. Ambience is great especially at Xmas !
Great venue but the service was awful, it took 20 mins for our coffee/drinks to arrive. A collection of different waiters got our orders wrong. Most of the staff seemed disinterested. The food was fine but the waiter forgot the side order that came with the meal. We were then ignored by most of the staff for about 20-30mins until they needed the table. Quite poor.
Poor service. Brought wrong order twice. My poached eggs were overcooked.
Very nice restaurant. Tables were a little close to each other but food and service was excellent.
We had a really nice meal - great food and service! However, it is quite noisy, but nothing unusual for London dining!
Service dreadful wrong main course later arrival of one starter order a beer 3 times waited 20 mins
All was perfect except the cleanness of toilets that needs to be taken care of.
Fish & chips mostly batter and very little fish.otherwise very enjoyable
We have been to 3 Ivys in London. The Ivy Kensington brasserie was lovely. Service was fantastic as always with the Ivys. Food was stunning as always!! They also took my request that it was my friends birthday and brought out a little cake for her!
Duck curry was amazing
As always the food is very good. Sadly the service was horrendous having to repeatedly ask for service. This is not the first Ivy brasserie to suffer from bad service. Chelsea Ivy was the same. It is a shame as the food ambience is very good.
Our arrival experience was very poor- there was an implied threat to let our table go if we were not there on time. So we left some champagne at home to arrive on time but we were told our table wasn’t ready and we should/could go to the bar. However the bar was very crowded and I asked to see the manager who appeased me to a degree and said he would give some nibbles which he did. But after that he made no attempt to check that all was well, in fact he seemed to positively ignore us.
The food and service were very good, but the noise level very high and the table, screwed in place, was very tight.
The restaurant was lovely but was disappointed that my main course arrived cold. This was replaced (and Had been microwaved) but the person I was having dinner with was already half way through their main course. No discount offered or even real apology.
Great Christmas decorations friendly staff love the relaxed atmosphere
Excellent food and service , good lively atmosphere great location
This was our first visit after a gap of several months. We were aware of the time of year but the noise level at lunchtime precluded any conversation other than the banal. The Wild Mushroom starter at £8.95 was so sloppy that it needed to be accompanied by a spoon not a fork. A bottle of Aqua Still at £4.95 appeared without being ordered. Nothing wrong with the Mains: one of the 2 fish & chips orders was correctly served without the mushy peas. No wine but 3 beers and we still managed to clock-up a Bill for £93.55 before service.
The steak came well done when ordered rare. We were being pushed from our table.after being there less than an hour and ask to sit at the bar if we wanted to drink our coffees after lunch. Clearly over subscribed and I'll managed
Lovely place. Great servive. Great cocktails. Nice food. Could be my local if only I lived here.
Always a treat to come to the Ivy B, even for the third time this week!
We have been twice now to the Ivy Kennsington for brunch and dinner. The eggs benedict is to die for and the Ivy Kennsington Royal has made me love sloe gin. We had wonderful service both times and really enjoyed the festive atmosphere.
Had a wonderful time. Staff very welcoming and attentive.
Great choice, great quality.
Noise levels were high yet not too intrusive.
Would certainly go again, given the opportunity.
Expensive for what it is and the staffs customer service skills have a lot to be desired.
Sent food back twice and no one asked if it was ok. The presentation of a steak is a lot to be desired for the price
We were late being seated. Bought the wrong meal and charged twice for an item.
Atmosphere and ambience were great, particularly as the Christmas decorations were up. It was warm and inviting and the food was lovely and very good value given its London location. My only gripe was that we ordered drinks once seated but our food arrived before the drinks!
Unfortunately, on a return visit to The Ivy Kensington the service throughout our meal was very poor. One of our main meals arrived 5 minutes after everyone else had received theirs, plus the persons side order had been served. The waiter had seen that a member of the party had not received their meal but did not acknowledge it or do anything about it. To finish the meal the table ordered various coffees and teas. The coffees arrived but there was much confusion over a fresh mint tea and a hot water with lemon. How long does it take to boil a kettle? Now treble the time! Having been served some other tables hot drinks. When it came to paying the 12.5% service charge was on the bill and when we said that we were not going to pay it, the waiter grabbed the receipt and marched off without asking why or an apology. Very disappointing and has put the whole group off of trying other restaurants in the franchise.
Extremely poor afternoon tea. Very small amount of food that wasn’t particularly nice, for a lot of money.
Service was very slow. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing.
The worst afternoon tea ever!
Lovely brunch! Very attentive staff.
Over priced for what it was. Very expensive coffee and our breakfast was not delivered to the table at the same time and there was a 10 minute wait until all of our party had received their order. The service was adequate but not nearly as slick as you would expect for this venue.
Staff attentive, and knowledgeable about our requirements.
The food was very tasty, and the Cod was superb!
Service takes a very long time and food arrives after 1 hour
Amazing service, excellent food !
One of the best IVY venues in London
Fabulous for a 'Girlie Lunch' ...love the drama of the melting Chocolate Bombe!
One of the more convenient restaurants in central London at which to have a breakfast meeting, well connected to public transport, across the road from the Tube.
Thank you for a lovely evening. Great food, served and presented well. Wonderful ambience in a busy but relaxing restaurant.
Service was excellent, our waiter, (sorry, forgotten his name. He was from Albania) was so nice, knowledgeable and friendly. We will return.
The food is excellent and especially good value before 6.30pm , wine prices are a bit steep but plenty to chose from for under £50 .
