Ivy Kensington Brasserie
Sample our extensive range of quality food and delicious cocktails at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or are visiting some of London’s best loved landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall.
Our garden terrace is situated at the back of our restaurant and provides the perfect respite away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Adorned with flowers and foliage, it is the perfect spot to soak up the sun during the summer months. Due to the nature of British summer our terrace cannot be booked ahead, so please just pop in.
Open seven days a week and comprised of a main restaurant, bar and a semi-private table for ten for an extra special experience, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
Good ambiance but very noisy. Too Small table for four people
Very limited choice on menu for vegetarians.
I come regularly and I'm always delighted. Highly recommended.
I was there about 11.05, this time when a branch started. But amiable a hostess gave me a chance to order breakfast. Thanks a lot...
Brought a Canadian friend here for dinner on Saturday night and we were all so impressed. Would highly recommend the restaurant to all for its food, service and super friendly staff. Lots of happy customers around each table
The restaurant is amazing, great decor, service was amazing and the food is of the highest quality. Wouldn’t hesitate in going back!
Food’s good and the atmosphere is buzzy but one gets the feeling they are always short a few staff. Had to chase servers down for things like forgotten chips, sauces etc. Still, a good choice with a good menu.
Nice place and good food. Shame the service was inept.
Service was not great this time. The staff seem to change often.
I have been coming to the Ivy for sometime now, and the manager who was serving us was really rude, I don't know why, or if he felt we did not spend enough money, but we had a guest with us and this was a treat for this person. I do not expect a manager to behalf in this way. He really was just so rude.
we did not take this up with him as we didn't want our guest to be embarrassed.
If I come back to the Ivy, I do not expect to be treated like this.
Beef and lamb Ragu meal was very poor. Very little meat and very little flavour. Huge , unappetising pasta. Sent meal back. Staff were very obliging and replaced with sea bream. Fish was tasty but there was a lack of vegetables. Restaurant was very noisy and air-conditioning was too cool. Our bill listed our set meals of £16.50 as £17.95. Again staff corrected the mistake and were pleasant.
I have been to a couple of Ivy restaurants--during peak dinner times, service is a bit slow (10-15min wait for orders to be taken). The food is very good, and the Kensington branch maintained the quality I found at the other Ivys.
My order came wrong
Food was nice, so was the ambience. Waiters were courteous and professional. I recommend this place
Very hit and miss and this time, a miss. Buffalo mozzarella was more like a strong burrata, fish over cooked, sent back creamed spinach as had no flavour and had been left sitting. Service is always slow, one of those places where you have to keep calling for waiters attention and they pretend not to hear you
Food quality has gone down a lot! I had eggs Royale and the salmon was not fresh at all. It was hard on the edges and brown. The fries were over salted and not fresh either. I ordered sausages for my niece and they over practically cremated. Not the standard I expect for the Ivy unfortunately. Very disappointing
We decided not to have a starter and order a main course and it took nearly 40 minutes for it to arrive. The waiter was apologetic and said that it was because we didn’t order a starter, which I felt was a pretty poor excuse.
Other than that the service was good and the food was delicious, but that delay in getting our food is why I’ve only given an overall rating of four stars.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting, the staff were so on it and polite. I will definitely be returning!
We came for a birthday celebration and asked to be seated in the garden, this was accommodated without any fuss. Very friendly staff and good service.
Although the food was delicious, we were served by about 5 different waiting staff and were kept waiting far too long at every stage of the meal, with no one taking active care of us.
When we asked to take the service charge off the end of the bill and politely explained the reason, the waitress was very rude and didn’t say thank you or apologise.
Unfortunately I’ve experienced slow service in 2x other establishments run by the Ivy - a great shame given how good the food and ambience are.
My second visit to this restaurant. Ibajeats feel that The Ivy is great value for money with a varied menu. Will definitely be back again.
Again the Ivy Kensington hits the spot. Requested a particular section, got it. Turned out to be a tad breezy because of air conditioning, asked to move, no problem. Then of course the food is spot on. There are few places we visit with such a consistent high standard - which is why we keep going back. As for the noise - it's Friday night in London, that's why we go out!
Great place to meet friends or business meetings. Always pleasantly surprised by the level of service provided by the waiters.
Very good food. Excellent, polite service. Nice buzzy ambiance but not too loud
Lovely! Nice food and great service. Lovely location on terrace at the back.
The service was excellent. The food was great. My friend has some food allergies and the server was able to make suggestions to accommodate her needs. The Ivy is always lovely inside and out with its beautiful decor. The flowers are always amazing.
Very nice, food was good normally go to the Birmingham one but decided to try the Kensington one as we were there for Wimbledon and thought it would add to the occasion. It was very nice along the same lines but thought the Birmingham one had just got the edge with their decor, which is a bit more colourful and light and airy. Also the staff seem a bit more tentative at the Birmingham one. But all in all a nice experience and would definitely go again.
It’s very noisy, impossible to get waiters attention, after order is on the table no one follows up, and takes forever to pay the bill.
I'm a huge fan of the Ivy B and am a regular visitor...that won't change EVER! However, yesterday the service was a wee bit iffy as it took ages for my coffee to arrive and I have a feeling the staff may have been surprised by the number of breakfast visitors? Anyway, just a tiny bit of feedback because the food was DELICIOUS and the staff, whatever was happening, were unfailingly polite and friendly and helpful!
My steak had no taste at all our food took a little more than 2 hours hopeless
Lovely, tasty food and good service, a few too many noisy children to make it a special treat. Would’ve been nicer had it been a little less busy but it is Kensington and very good value for money.
Went to the Ivy for the first time and the service and food was great. Very efficient, friendly and the lunch menu is good value.
I have been to the Cambridge and St. Albans' branches, and was impressed. As expected, Kensington was a little more expensive and the only problem was a waiter/order-taker who was intrusive, even when we were obviously in the middle of a conversation. Annoying. The decor I found more akin to New York than Europe , which was no problem. The restaurant was not full, probably because of Wimbledon, so would be interesting to see if standards hold up under the stress of a full house.
Great. Loved it. Excellent quality at a reasonable price.
Sunday brunch on the terrace was perfect - excellent food and service in the fresh air, but please cut the music!
Decent enough brunch, the sundae was really just a bowl of ice cream though.
BEST BRUNCH EVER, the food was delicious, definitely my new brunch spot.
The place is not as good as expected.
Chasing waitress is not fun
Food was ok but nothing exceptional for the priced paid
Knives could not even cut the asparagus. which were difficult to eat anyway as not cooked enough
I would recommend this venue to a friend but with a slight reservation about the service. Food was great, location great, ambiance good, but unfortunately the staff who dealt with our table were slow, seemingly uninterested and going through the motions. I would of expected better at an establishment such as this, but I would have to say other tables appeared to be receiving higher standard.
