The Grill on the Alley - Beverly Hills
Food poor quality, steak not prime , the service was good and the place was nice. We did get a good deal on a great bottle of wine . Would not return
The Grill on the Alley is a hidden gem. The service and food were impecable and I would definitely put this restaurant on your "to do" list if you have not been there. I will be bringing friends who visit us here in Los Angeles there for dinner in the future.
The Grill on the Alley always delivers. It starts with Gio, the GM, and it continues with the great food that is perfectly prepared and delivered by a top notch service team. The Grill never disappoints and it is consistently excellent.
Very nice experience. I'd like to come again to try other menu items. I liked the general ambiance. Good spot. Thank you. :)
First off the food was good (hard to enjoy when annoyed at the host) and our server was great. Drinks were on point as well. However, my poor rating is for the overall experience.
Upon arriving for our reservation I was informed that we had a booth but it was needed by 7:15pm. This is the second time in my life this has happened, ironically both times in LA.... #needtolearnwhatserviceindustrymeans
Sure enough 7:15 rolls around and the host literally stood next to our table until we looked up, then simply stated the next party had arrived.
I am but one person and I won’t make much of a difference to them, but I will never return to see how good the food could be.
Everything was amazing, I'd recommend this restaurant. Loved the lobster bisque. Can't wait to go back.
The warm and professional staff made it a pleasant experience. Out party included my 92 year old mother and my 4 year old granddaughter and we all happy there.
Classic Hollywood and well healed clientele. Host was genuine and friendly and wait staff attentive. I will be back....again!
Every meal is perfection!!! The food, the staff, the ambience is the best in town!!!
Great food! Great drinks (they actually put alcohol in them!)! Good service! Great Dine L.A. value!
Love this place! The John Dory is always wonderful and the soft shell crab when in season is great too.
My go to local bar/ restaurant- love the staff and the food! ♥️
The Grill deserves an award for finding the most inept, unhelpful and simply awful “server” in Los Angeles, in not the entire country. I put “server” in quotes because it would be an insult to all decent captains, waiters and busboys to imply that our waiter had even the most rudimentary idea of what the word service in a restaurant means. Aside from the awful waiter, the kitchen paid no attention to my order - medium rare salmon. The first time the waiter delivered well done salmon. I would have pointed out that error to the waiter if he had not immediately disappeared. I tried for 5 minutes to flag him down as he was chatting away at other tables where he apparently knew the patrons. Finally I was able to get the attention of a busboy, who got the waiter’s attention. I explained the problem. He said he would put in a new order right away. 25 minutes later - after flagging down the busboy and asking for my dinner - a server arrived with a piece of salon that was shaped like a wedge - tapered from almost paper thin to more than two inches think. The paper-like area was medium, the area was raw. And, by that time my dinner companion had finished eating I complained to the manager, who apologized and offered to not charge me. And as a gesture of apology the waiter brought us a single scoop of raspberry or similar sorbet - which was filled with ice. And, for what it is worth, the restaurant was far from full. No excuses.
Everything is always delicious except this visit we ordered two Rib Eye Steaks. We were in the mood for a juicy (fatty), flavorful piece of meat. That is not what we got. The meat we received was not marbled with fat, probably better for our health.
I am a very regular diner at “The Grill On The Alley” in Beverly Hills and I love the place.
The staff are like old friends, whilst I alternate my meal, I always know precisely what I want to order. The cocktails are great, the bread is delicious, the wine selection extensive, however, the staff are the best in the business and it is always a pleasure to see them.
I thoroughly recommend The Grill as a great, establishment restaurant and it has been a Beverly Hills/Los Angeles icon for well over 30 years and it is hard not to have a good time at this classic destination.
Wish we lived closer to The Grill. Always a favorite!
One of the best restaurants in Beverly Hills. A real gem with lots of regulars for good reasons. Enjoy.
We enjoyed an outstanding meal at the Grill once again. We started with the burrata and tomato salad, and the restaurant was able to accommodate our wish to add anchovies to it to give it a kick, then I had a petite filet cooked perfectly as I asked for while my husband had the wild salmon, his favorite dish, which was also cooked exactly as he wanted. The bread was warm and fresh, the cocktails generous, and the side dishes were simple but tasty, not overwhelming the main course; we had a slight mishap with one of the desserts which was corrected immediately. Our service was the best we've had in decades of eating out - friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient, without ever hovering. This is sort of an old school restaurant in an historic venue, but the staff is young and energetic and the ambiance is lively - the perfect combination! We've been before and we'll keep going whenever we're in LA.
Not great attention this time from the wait staff. Never had my drink refilled which is unusual. Wasn’t particularly busy either.
Had the fish dishes. All clean and well prepared. Excellent service. Table seated at reservation time which was appreciated. Hector and team Staff made me feel st home. Steve has Excellent information on how the dishes were prepared
Lovely food. Great atmosphere. Gina our waitress was outstanding.

Always a great meal
The hostess was very friendly and welcoming and the food and service were outstanding.

Hector and Geo always welcome you with open arms, get you seated immediately one of the great staff come over and get your drink in your hand, dinner is now being served
I have exactly one restaurant in Los Angeles/West Side that never lets me down. I dine there more than any other place. I am always treated as if my business is important to them. I bring guests almost every time and my guests are always impressed and have a great time, a great meal. From the folks who greet you and look out for you to the best service staff in town and a great kitchen, easy parking, wonderful clientele, it's the best. So I'm not objective any more. My expectations remain high and they've never let me down. That's the way a restaurant is supposed to work. Simply The Best.
Fish was VERY bony. Frequent diner cards on the table were tacky- not appropriate for dinner. Not on par with seafood at other places within a few blocks.
This is another Bev Hill spot thats been around forever.
I is great! Food is amazing. Service too notch. It can get loud but thats during busiest hours.
I highly reccommend this restaurant.
Excellent food & service
Outstanding food and service! Our current favorite choice for a nice dinner in Beverly Hills.
Always fabulous on all counts! Except when carrot cake is not on the menu.
Always reliably good
we were late for our lunch reservation due to freeway traffic.
They were so nice about it. The food was outstanding and our waiter was very comical.
I love going to the Grill in the Alley and will most definitely go there again next time I'm in town.
Our server was amazing and very knowledgeable. We love coming here!
Great food and great service by Jane!
Poached salmon salad best in LA. You can actually have a conversation without shouting. Excellent service.
