The Greenhouse is one of only four restaurants in the world to win the Wine Spectator Grand Award, the highest award given for exceptional quality in a wine list.
First class food and service. No aspect of this experience could have been better
Exemplary Service, it was very professional but also friendly and relaxed. We had the set lunch menu and enjoyed all of the 3 courses. The star items were the canapes which were truly amazing.
We choose the option for 2 glasses of wine each with out meal and the wines provide were very very good and excellent value.
Definitely one to remember and revisit.
It was too expensive. Most of the food was nice but given the cost it did not seem to be value for money. It is quite stiff as a place and although not noisy which was a bonus we didn't really like the ambiance.
Superb, innovative cuisine served by attentive and knowledgeable staff.
Fabulous in every way.
Always love the greenhouse, every time I’m there the meal is great, the service is great, and they always recommend the best wine to pair with our meal. Had a great time again with my friends.
As always great food and service.
This truly is an exceptional restaurant. Hidden away in a Mayfair Mews, this restaurant offers exquisite cooking and stunning service. The wine list is extensive with some amazing Burgundy's...
The level of cooking makes this one of the best places to eat in Mayfair. I look forward to returning.
Out of this world! Fantastic food and service.
The food was delicious apart from the fig dessert which was a disappointment. Although it looked beautiful, the taste was bland, which I suppose shouldn’t have been a big surprise for me given that figs are currently out of season. I left most of it and was not asked why by the staff. Thankfully the petite fours were delicious and made up for it. I would say overall excellent value and otherwise lovely tasting food.
Obviously a great restaurant, but has recently become very poor value for money.
So, let's start with the food. Obviously, this is true Michelin star food, but not as many stand-out dishes as you'd think - only a couple in a meal. Used to be very good for vegetarians, but the vegetarian offering is now significantly behind the omnivore offering - from small things like there's one less amuse bouche for the veggies to the more serious that the main course for omnivores was duck, but for veggies, it was essentially two chips (very good and very clever, but at the end of the day fried potatoes).
Now, the service. Absolutely spot on. Some might say slightly over the top, but if you want perfect service, this is pretty much it. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
The wine was equally great with a massive wine list including wines that you don't normally see in London - we had a wine from Crete which was OK, but we loved it for the rarity of it. Our Malbec was good but for the thick end of seventy quid, you'd expect more.
The cheese trolley was a bit disappointing. The cheese was served a little cold, so it wasn't as punch as it should have been. A couple of our cheeses were distinctly dull.
Overall, this is a top ten London restaurant for omnivores, but from a value perspective, is it worth it? Not sure. For veggies, just avoid - it's not top ten and yet it's still top five price.
Fantastic service and a very nice lunch. All courses perfectly prepared with very delicate flavors. Impressive winelist, with some very nice bargains in between.
A London favourite. Great food and fantastic wine list.
We went for the set lunch menu and really enjoyed the food and service and thought what good value it was. The canapés were amazing and so nice they were included. The freshly baked bread was a real treat.
Great lovely experience
Best food I’ve had since Hedone closed. Excellent service. Will be back soon.
I do not normally write reviews but my return trip to the Greenhouse was so good I feel I must. Exciting cooking beautifully presented and served with flair and pride by a cast who are spirited , knowledgeable and offer really helpful guidance and eager to make the experience truly magnificent. In short a wonderful treat . A fantastic experience!
we really had one of our best fine dining experience ever ! thanks to the chef and the whole greenhouse team !!!
Great food but evening was spoiled by other customers being loud, rude and generally inappropriate. Shame.
Very good experience! I will come again to try another course.
Amazing dinner! Best food I had in a long time in Mayfair
Excellent as usual, definitely still worthy of 2 stars
Super! Toller Service, sehr gute Weinbegleitung, fantastisches Essen
A thoroughly enjoyable evening. World class food especially "Oyster" "Caviar" and the Landes chicken. Well paced, service just right and left feeling satiated but not stuffed. Will return
There were a large group of young men who were violently abusive.
Nice food, service was a bit "amateur" but very nice people
This was our first visit to the restaurant since Alex Dilling became chef and we were very pleased that the standards had not dropped and if anything were even better.
6 of us has the set lunch menu at it was simply without fault.
The service as always was excellent and this is a real jewel of a restaurant tucked away in Mayfair.
I think that we will visit again soon.
Food is very good and the value amazing for a set lunch. The canapés are just stunning!
Service need a bit more attention to details.
We would certainly recommend The Greenhouse to friends - its our second time.
Superb food, very professionally presented but courses are small - expensive.
Food excellent, an improvement on the already high previous standards. Wine mist remains very extensive, with mark up to match, hard to find anything you want below £250. Sommelier very good though.
One major disappointment- we are regular visitors and were shown to a poor table, asked to move to our usual table which was empty and were told it had been specifically picked out and reserved earlier that day, head chap insisted we could not sit there. Shown to another table instead, directly affected by the in and out from the kitchen. Miraculously our chosen table later became free, we moved and the people who had booked it, history does not reveal. Maitre d’ didn’t have the courage to come and ask if everything was ok.
Also, we were given a tasting menu only and had to ask for a la carte. Overall very good but at £600 for two for dinner, the above should not happen.
Also, they shouldn’t allow tables for 8 in the main room. It’s just too noisy and disruptive for others.
It has really gone downhill since we last went half a year ago. Then, it was a wonderful restaurant and it used to be our favourite in London. We ordered the set lunch menu. Everything was bland, especially the three amuse-bouche. The pigeon was so rare we almost returned it. No deep or exciting flavour anywhere. There are only two choice for the main - either pigeon for two, or halibut. So for two people eating, either both eat halibut or both eat pigeon ! For the cheese course - extra £18 ? I am pretty sure it used to be included for no extra. The set used to include coffee and tea, but no longer. For the ‘incl wine’ option, it used to be half a bottle, now two glasses.
An oasis in the heart of Mayfair. Enter through an amazing garden to be greeted by very attentive staff. The food was stunning in its presentation and taste. Lovely wines to accompany. Couldn’t fault it
Disappointing meal. I was revisiting this restaurant after previously dining here 13 years ago and had very good memories.
* Veal sweetbreads and the sauce was far too rich after it followed a course of foie gras
* Bread in a two Michelin starred restaurant should be stellar but was dry and even slightly burnt
* The crowd seemed to be mostly tourists rather than discerning Londoners
* Decor could be more vibrant but front garden is pretty
Dishes are presented nicely just didn’t wow on flavours
Really lovely restaurant and great staff. We chose the set lunch menu, but were surprised when we were given a lot of extra little dishes. Highly recommended for a special lunch.
Outstanding at every level. Amazing dining and service experience.
Amazing experience from start to finish, highly recommended. I can’t recall all the names but special thanks to the crew Melanie, Tyler, Dargan and of course chef Alex. ‘We’ll be back’
Went for a glass of champagne, the 9 course menu and wine pairing (for 2 people). Food was good but not extraordinary, same for wine (sommelier not really helpful though). The bill came ... almost £700. Definitely not worth it.
Innovative, wow-factor food. Lovely atmosphere, impeccable service and great wines. Highly recommended
