The Greenhouse is one of only four restaurants in the world to win the Wine Spectator Grand Award, the highest award given for exceptional quality in a wine list.
Tokyo turnip, Cantbrico anchovy, taggiasca olive
Pomme paillason, Alsace bacon, truffle, bone marrow
Greenhouse is the epitome of perfection when it comes to fine dining. The food and services surpasses all expectations with incredible attention to detail in every course. Highly recommended for any blow out meal or special occasion.
Absolutely incredible meal. As a chef the food was the best I've had! Easily 3 stars! I will be back.
An absolute delight! Our first date since we had a baby and what a success! Food was very tasty, well presented and of good proportions!
Calm ambiance and toughtful service.
Absolutely splendid experience. The only downside was at the start, namely finding the restaurant in a Mayfair back street. After that, relaxed attentive service, a lovely room with well spaced tables and superb food. Not cheap of course, but the feeling is of a place with confidence and great skill, maybe looking for that coveted third star. Has gone straight to the top of my favourite list.
Great restaurant and worthy of its two stars. Service first class and a lovely room.
Truely exceptional food and the best service in London. Can’t remember how many times we have been but we have loved every dish. Alex Dillings loves his truffles, although his food is some of the most eye catching out there.
The Greenhouse with two Michelin stars is considered to be one of the landmarks of classic French cuisine in London. This was my second visit - the first (under a different chef) was one of the most remarkable experiences in my vast culinary career. My recent visit was excellent as well, with many high-end dishes (as can be expected at that price level) but fell short compared to my earlier visit: Californian inspired Clam Chowder was excellent with the range of surprising colonial flavours perfectly supporting the dish. The Clarence Court Egg with white Alba truffle was an interesting game of various textures. When I saw Bouillabaisse on the menu I was excited to have one in top quality outside the Cote d’Azur – yet what came was the chef’s interpretation of the subject, a rather uninspired piece of dover sole. Do not get me wrong, it tasted lovely but I could not hide my disappointment that I had been “refused” the true French dish promised by the menu. Main course was a succulent Chicken Hunter Style, great quality and perfect craftsmanship, yet again no course I`d particularly come back for. All in all these were excellent courses, on expert technical level, but I was unable to identify a single truly remarkable and outstanding dish defining the restaurant. In addition the “fake” Bouillabaisse makes me wonder if Greenhouse changed from top-notch French to a more International and less striking style of interpreting classic French favourites. “Interpretation” should also mean improvement, otherwise it makes no sense, in my opinion. One major plus was the sommelier, she picked out one of the best Puligny-Montrachet bottles I ever had the pleasure of diving into!
First class food and service. No aspect of this experience could have been better
Exemplary Service, it was very professional but also friendly and relaxed. We had the set lunch menu and enjoyed all of the 3 courses. The star items were the canapes which were truly amazing.
We choose the option for 2 glasses of wine each with out meal and the wines provide were very very good and excellent value.
Definitely one to remember and revisit.
It was too expensive. Most of the food was nice but given the cost it did not seem to be value for money. It is quite stiff as a place and although not noisy which was a bonus we didn't really like the ambiance.
Superb, innovative cuisine served by attentive and knowledgeable staff.
Fabulous in every way.
Always love the greenhouse, every time I’m there the meal is great, the service is great, and they always recommend the best wine to pair with our meal. Had a great time again with my friends.
As always great food and service.
This truly is an exceptional restaurant. Hidden away in a Mayfair Mews, this restaurant offers exquisite cooking and stunning service. The wine list is extensive with some amazing Burgundy's...
The level of cooking makes this one of the best places to eat in Mayfair. I look forward to returning.
Out of this world! Fantastic food and service.
The food was delicious apart from the fig dessert which was a disappointment. Although it looked beautiful, the taste was bland, which I suppose shouldn’t have been a big surprise for me given that figs are currently out of season. I left most of it and was not asked why by the staff. Thankfully the petite fours were delicious and made up for it. I would say overall excellent value and otherwise lovely tasting food.
Obviously a great restaurant, but has recently become very poor value for money.
So, let's start with the food. Obviously, this is true Michelin star food, but not as many stand-out dishes as you'd think - only a couple in a meal. Used to be very good for vegetarians, but the vegetarian offering is now significantly behind the omnivore offering - from small things like there's one less amuse bouche for the veggies to the more serious that the main course for omnivores was duck, but for veggies, it was essentially two chips (very good and very clever, but at the end of the day fried potatoes).
Now, the service. Absolutely spot on. Some might say slightly over the top, but if you want perfect service, this is pretty much it. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
The wine was equally great with a massive wine list including wines that you don't normally see in London - we had a wine from Crete which was OK, but we loved it for the rarity of it. Our Malbec was good but for the thick end of seventy quid, you'd expect more.
The cheese trolley was a bit disappointing. The cheese was served a little cold, so it wasn't as punch as it should have been. A couple of our cheeses were distinctly dull.
Overall, this is a top ten London restaurant for omnivores, but from a value perspective, is it worth it? Not sure. For veggies, just avoid - it's not top ten and yet it's still top five price.
Fantastic service and a very nice lunch. All courses perfectly prepared with very delicate flavors. Impressive winelist, with some very nice bargains in between.
A London favourite. Great food and fantastic wine list.
We went for the set lunch menu and really enjoyed the food and service and thought what good value it was. The canapés were amazing and so nice they were included. The freshly baked bread was a real treat.
Great lovely experience
Best food I’ve had since Hedone closed. Excellent service. Will be back soon.
I do not normally write reviews but my return trip to the Greenhouse was so good I feel I must. Exciting cooking beautifully presented and served with flair and pride by a cast who are spirited , knowledgeable and offer really helpful guidance and eager to make the experience truly magnificent. In short a wonderful treat . A fantastic experience!
we really had one of our best fine dining experience ever ! thanks to the chef and the whole greenhouse team !!!
Great food but evening was spoiled by other customers being loud, rude and generally inappropriate. Shame.
Very good experience! I will come again to try another course.
Amazing dinner! Best food I had in a long time in Mayfair
Excellent as usual, definitely still worthy of 2 stars
Super! Toller Service, sehr gute Weinbegleitung, fantastisches Essen
A thoroughly enjoyable evening. World class food especially "Oyster" "Caviar" and the Landes chicken. Well paced, service just right and left feeling satiated but not stuffed. Will return
