Wonderful dinner and drinks the night before lockdown number two. The staff were all fantastic and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you!
Fab evening - food wonderful and service excellent-especially given it was Lockdown 2 eve and so the place was packed! Looking forward to going again in December!
Wonderful food! Delicious with great attention to detail. Could not find fault.
Highly recommend a visit after lockdown. There is a takeaway menu which will will try, friends have raved about the Sunday roasts.
Brilliant in every way. A little pricier than same places but given the quality of the evening well worth it.
We used the Travelzoo voucher to enjoy dinner for 4 just before the lockdown.
The voucher covered all the cost of their fixed price menu.
Everyone thought the food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive.
Will definitely return after the lockdown.
Another great meal at the Greene Oak. Usual high standard of food, each of us enjoying 3 courses for £19 ! Superb value. Will be back again after lockdown.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and happily moved us to another table when requested. Food was different to normal run of the mill gastro pub food and very good.
First visit here, very impressed. Enjoyed the food, interesting menu. Dining room was a little cold, but food and drink warmed us up! Will come again.
My friend and I had a very enjoyable pre 2.0 Lockdown lunch. I would recommend you try it!
We have been to the Greene Oak several times for lunch. The menu selections are unique. The Devonshire goat is tender and delicious. The cider soup was also very good. The wait staff is courteous, friendly and very accommodating.
Just great. Lovely friendly staff, buzzy atmosphere and excellent Sunday roast. Can’t fault it...
After a good walk, two starving customers received amazing service and food.
All Covid Safe with a great atmosphere
Very impressed. Forgot our table water and was quite noisy but would go again for the food.
Great Sunday roast as always. Found out you can order a smaller plate roast, as the portion sizes are huge, and you almost need a separate plate for the massive but delicious Yorkshire pudding! Only downside, even with socially distanced tables, the noise levels were so high, as is always the case. With the wooden panel walls and wooden floors it is always too echoey, which is a real shame. Maybe put down a partial carpet or some rugs? Otherwise a great lunch catching up with my friend .... before we all head for Lockdown II .... Keep safe and we can’t wait to come back in December ...
Always excellent, a gem. Also set up very well for Covid and taking care to follow rules. Great place
This was honestly one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had in my life. The service was also absolutely immaculate - at the level you would normally associate with Michelin starred restaurant!
The food was excellent and the service was very attentive. Very good value for money.
Fabulous night out , great service.
Thanks for a great brunch yesterday. My wife had the soft shell crab Benedict she found it very tasty, the poached eggs were cooked just right. My son and I had the Hoagies which hit the spot just right. A couple of rounds of Mimosas and Bloody Marys made a pleasant way to pass a wet morning. They serve a pretty good coffee too. As always, friendly and attentive service in pleasant surroundings. We'll miss popping into our local this month, but will be over for weekend take aways -these kept our spirits up during the last lock down. Thank you to all of the team, and we hope to see you soon P&B
Always a great service with excellent variety of food and wine choices.
Interesting and innovative menu. Food was well cooked and well presented. Nice ambience and setting
This was not my first visit to the Green Oak and will certainly not be my last. That goes for friends and family I have taken there. The menu is always interesting and the ingredients are very fresh. Presentation and portion size are just right. Service is helpful and waiting staff seem to know their stuff. A very pleasant experience.
Friendly efficient service. Food was very good. Truly gastropub food, interesting menu. Portions not huge, so you do need extra sides of chips or mash, but quality is excellent and we enjoyed three courses. Plaice with shrimps, and steak tartare particularly good, as was the fig posset. Lots of decent wines by the glass too. We felt Covid safe with good table spacing.
Simply excellent. Really delicious food from an interesting menu and good wine and excellent service. Do it.
Great service and lovely food . Would highly recommend.
Second meal and again very surprised at how good it was. Menu changed from first visit and love the twists on classics.
A delicious dinner! All of the food was high quality and delicious and my 7 year old (picky eater) loved the mini sausages, chips and peas. It’s obvious that the chef is showcasing excellent food from the UK- sole, hake, free range chicken and lovely looking steaks. Service was excellent, on the spot but not overbearing. Good selection of beer and ale. Will definitely go again!
Great TravelZoo offer (£39 for 2) 3 courses + Prosecco from the full menu, with only a couple of items having small supplements. Food was the usual high standard, and portion size reasonable. Onion and cider soup and the game terrine (rabbit + duck) were great, with the terrine being full of meat. Mains of slow cooked kid goat and hake were also beautiful. Sticky toffee pud and a fruit crumble to finish - only negative was that the crumble was biscuit like rather than fine crumb, but no big deal. Even without TravelZoo voucher, the Greene Oak offers a fixed price lunch with the same deal minus the drink. Great value. Ate at 4:30pm which meant we had restaurant to ourselves for first 45 mins, but steadily filled up. Already booked again !!
Excellent food. And service you’d expect to be paying double the price for. Might have fallen in love with the Spanish(?) waitress as well 😁😎❤️
We found the green oak fantastic for value for money , food was excellent and the staff were great. Next time we’ll bring our 2 small dogs as they are allowed.
Great place for Sunday lunch.
The Greene Oak is an absolute gem. The food is consistently outstanding quality and value, the staff are so knowledgeable, helpful and willing to go the extra mile. Highly recommended.
Outstanding service by all staff yesterday and the food was delicious and very generously portioned.
Highly recommend and will be back, thank you!
Beautiful food - so delicious, fabulous service which was welcoming warm but not intrusive. Genuinely interested in making your meal great. The dessert portions are huge - the even say they don't have skinny chefs and not surprised with the quality, choice and size of meals. I would say they are a 2 course restaurant or do what i did and take dessert home for next day.
And they are great on the Covid front too which I really appreciated.
Strongly recommend it!!
Lovely venue ... we ordered snacks which were delicious and wine was chilled
Service was fab
The Green Oak is in a lovely setting with very attentive staff. The food was good.
Fabulous food, friendly service & great to catch up with friends
As always a great pub good food good service from the friendly team.
Great place to eat, food is outstanding and great value
Excellent - apart from lunch menu a bit fussy could do with some lighter options - Salads etc
We had a wonderful family meal at The Greene Oak. Very impressed with the menu. The food and level of service was fantastic.
We look forward to returning when we’re next in Windsor.
