The Ginger Man
The Ginger Man’s menu accommodates people of all ages with everything from grilled cheese to entrée-sized salads and two to three fish selections daily. The restaurant still uses a real butcher from the New York City marketplace to hand pick its steaks and blend that special mix for its famous burgers.
The Ginger Man features 23 taps, 80+ bottles and a well chosen wine list from small and large Vineyards around the world. The Ginger Man’s burgers and beers were voted “best burger” and “best beer selection.”
The place is jumping on a Friday night. Great place for 30 year olds to hook-up. Food is well priced and good. Our waiter was a bit slow with the second bottle of wine. Didn't know if there were specials since we were not told of any. I made the reservations through Open Table, but when we arrived hostess didn't have our name. However our friends were already at the table. It worked out fine, just disappointed that the hostess didn't have our reservation for 4 in the computer.
Excellent service, comfortable ambiance, good comfort food.
FAIR AT BEST
THE RIBS CAME SMOUTHERED IN SAUCE AND ALL OVER RINGS AND YAMS
IT HAD NO TASTE DUE TO THE OVER POWERING FLAVORBURGERS CAME DECENTLY TASTING BUT SOURDOUGH BREAD WAS SOAKED
WONT TRY AGAIN
Our experience was great ! Service was on point food was great... only down fall is that the table next to us was literally screaming to the person next to them.. seriously sounded like each of them were trying to out do the next.. other than that I can’t recommend this place enough! Definitely will be coming back.
This is a must Greenwich restaurant for all. The food, drinks and staff are exceptional. Kudos to the management for having an excellent wait & kitchen staff.
Good food and good service.
The service was horrible. Hostess was extremely rude. We asked to take food home and they dumped our entire plates with scraps. It was absolutely disgusting. Never going back.
Food was good as always but service was disappointing this time.
Service was great-food was ordinary at best. Had a zucchini fry appetizer-oil from frying on the plate was black. Not great.
Stopped in at Ginger Man after going to Rapture watch. Chosen serendipitly and proved good find. Had cauliflower and shaved Brussels sprouts for appetizers and they were delicious, though could have used a bit more salt. My wife had a Cobb salad and I had buffalo chicken on flat bread. Both met and went beyond our expectations. The waiter was very attentive and friendly making the entire event very enjoyable. Definitely will refer friends if they find themselves in Greenwich.
We love the trout dinner at GM and have returned for it several times. The main thing that keeps us from eating there more often is the seating - most all side by side unless upstairs is open. We just like to have a bit more elbow room between us and other diners. That said, we were given the table at the end which does give a bit more room and we appreciated that.
This is a neighborhood gem. Lunch is always good.
The service is quick and efficient.
The food and the service were very good. We all had salads for lunch which were very fresh. The New England Clam Chowder was excellent. Both the Latte and cappuccino were very good too. A local gem.
We're happy that you had a great experience with us. We'll see you soon. The Avenue Room will be reopening soon, it was a beautiful night tonight with the double door windows open. Make sure you ask to check it out next time!
I have been to the Gingerman several times and not sure if management has changed or what has caused it to go a little downhill. it wasn't awful but we arrived around 8pm-they had drink specials but came back to tell us they ran out of the strawberry infused gin-did they buy one bottle? then only later when another party arrived next to us, they brought out what the waiter said was the last glass of it-? rude. the bathroom was a disaster with trash all over the floor-I have to say that this place was not crowded at all-there were tons of empty tables and seats at the bar-so that should help explain my disappointment with our experience.
Absolutely delicious food. Slow to make the order but food came extremely quickly after. I love this place!
Banquet seats dirty with food crumbs . 4 of 5 meals arrived together, had to solicit assistance to get 5th. Noisy w roaming toddlers Sunday 8pm.
Very pleasant staff, quick service and excellent food. The ‘fireplace room’ is charming and quiet.
We went for an early lunch so the restaurant was quiet. I had a beet salad with salmon. Salad was delicious and salmon was grilled perfectly. My companions had veggie flatbread and chicken paillard sandwich. They both said the dishes were very good.
I thought the food was very good, nicely presented. All 4 of us really liked our dinners. I have already recommended The Ginger Man to a couple of friends. I will go back.
Consistently good. Prefer the back room as the front room tends to be noisier (or more energetic).
When we visit the area, we always try to atop in at The Ginger Man. This time the oysters were really good as was the clam chowder. Service was very efficient and pleasant. It was mid-afternoon and not very crowded, so we rally enjoyed the quietude.
Salmon portion has been reduced- for $27 should have been larger.
Also changed what came with it. Used to be mashed potatoes
Just your average noisy bar restaurant
service was OK
Ordered small plates and they brought them all at once
They could’ve space the salad with the small entrée
a table was small
a little annoying but we may do
food was OK
noise level very loud but overall a nice dinner
Great place with consistently great food and outstanding service. I don’t come to Ginger Man often but when I do, I wonder why I don’t come here more often.
We had brunch for Easter. The building is beautiful and the food was excellent. Beautiful ambience and great service. Highly recommend
Disappointing, waste of a nice space. Upon arrival there was a kid repeatedly screaming at the top of his lungs and, apparently, management wasn't doing a thing. The hamburger bun was about three sizes too small for the contents. Perhaps this make some people feel like they're getting a big sandwich but to me it's just a mess. Worst, the liquor was ridiculously priced: $8.00 for a Guinness - and ice cold to boot? Really?
Had Korean BBQ Wings and a Burger. Worthy. Sat next to fireplace.
The table reservation was late by around 20 minutes. We were offered drinks at the bar which made the time go by very quickly. The table was comfortable and the staff was attentive. Had to ask for water refill just once. Overall very good.
Great service and food was excellent.
Everything was excellent. Lunch was served efficiently by the staff. Knowing it was a business meeting, they attended to us very well. Good food and good service is a winning combination.
Very nice restaurant! This is my second visit, and it didn’t disappoint! Excellent burger, and the chopped salad was amazing! Love the ambiance, and the location is ideal! Very courteous staff!
I love the Ginger Man. Great place for a drink at the bar (extensive beer list that's always changing) or a nice dinner. You can be equally comfortable in a pair of jeans or a suit. I've recently enjoyed a really tasty steak warp, flatbread pizza, and fish and chips...great variety of options all well executed. Most recently got a table next to the fireplace in the back, and there are several areas in the restaurant that provide nice ambience. Service is always excellent.
This was a nice find. Food very good and priced well. Plenty of choices for pescatarians. Trout special and burrata specials especially enjoyed.
It can be noisy at peak times. We arrived early and were glad. Seating request was accommodated.
great food, location and many rooms to choose from.
Food is generally good and reliable; tea and coffee should be hotter when served.
Loved every little thing about our experience ❤️
Hello, was a nice Buzz at the Ginger Man on a Saturday Night! Service was excellent, was a bit loud, but was fine for me. They had a great selection of Beers from around the Country! For my entree I the the Fish and Chips, which I was a little disappointed, the Fish didn’t have that Freshness taste!
Love the look and feel of this Ave staple, but I have to say the food isn't what it used to be, nor is there much variety to the menu. That said, if you are looking for pub style fare, it will certainly do the trick; that or come for the bar and hot pretzel and skip the main course.
Sunday brunch best for families with young children. Food was adequate and service was good. Prices were somewhat lower than average for this location. Noise was inhibiting; it was difficult to hear the voices of those at the same table.
