Mackerel Rillette, Sourdough
Lovely food but rather expensive for small-ish portions. Service very friendly but I reduced the rating because none of the staff wore face masks. This made it hard to relax and is definitely at odds with other restaurants I’ve visited since lockdown
Great Sunday Roast! Nice space, tasty food, good location
Fantastic service lovely food nice ambience everything was perfect for relaxed Sunday
Excellent - food was delicious, service amazing, lovely atmosphere
Ok experience nothing special
The food and drink were fine, tables were distanced which made us feel relatively comfortable, but the music was SO loud that it made it hard to hear each other and the waiter misunderstood us a few times (brought me a second drink I didn't order instead of ketchup). Waiter also kept getting really close to us because he couldn't hear us, which isn't super comfortable during COVID when the wait staff aren't wearing masks.
I think it would've been a great experience if they'd just lowered the music so they could hear us! Currently wouldn't recommend, but would once things go back to normal.
Nice ambiance and staff, but the food was only average and the cocktail I had was a bit disappointing.
Great food and experience
Faultless as always and great to be back after lock down.
Cod and lobster pie!
Even sweeter with them keeping the dine in money off deal from Monday to Wednesday.
Perfect for a Sunday roast. One of the nicest roasts I've had in a long time. My friend is veggie and their veggie roast is just as tasty.
Booked here for a Roast - I love rare beef but even for me this was a little rare. The main issue was that the meat was so gristly I couldn’t chew one mouthful without spitting it out.
Unfortunately it was the same for all 3 of our party.
The roast potatoes were really hard and tasteless, the veg unimaginative. When you’re paying £20 for a roast you’d expect a lot more.
The sourdough bread was lovely and the staff were wonderful and incredibly nice and helpful.
I’m so sorry to write this but the roast was really bad.
We couldn’t eat any of it and we weren’t charged.
Again, the staff were amazing.
It’s a lovely venue, only the food let it down.
We had a very good brunch and the staff is very communicative with you. Also, the menu is very flexible so you can mix and match ingredients so almost you will create your own one.
Nice food and great service. Brilliant place. Highly recommended.
I was back within a week, need I say more!
Highly recommend and looking forward to another visit soon.
Delicious roast and lovely wine selection. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it
Amazing roast Chicken. Great service 👏 Would definitely visit again.
Really great buzz, food was excellent (maybe the Yorkies could be little more fluffy) good portions, good wine list, Ollie and his team looked after us very well indeed, great day!!
Lovely place great food and drinks would definitely go again! x
Amazing food! Starters particularly delicious. I had the cauliflower and it was brilliant. Inventive menu. Nice wine!
Good quality gastro pub food with a little flair. Lovely ambience too with socially distant seating so it's a little quieter which we liked
Good food served by friendly staff in a comfortable setting.
Always good food here in a buzzing and lively environment.
The tables were nicely distanced, the service as friendly as ever, and the fish and chips both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. All in all, a perfect lunch experience and very much looking forward to returning.
I had a whole seabream and that was super yummy, well seasoned and the fish meat just melts in my mouth. Ohhhh, so good! Compliment to the chefs!
Beautiful and delicious meal. It was wonderful to be back after quite some time. Fantastic service.
Great food - place was a bit noisy and waiters took time to take our order.
Greatly enjoyed our Monday night experience at The Garrison. Haven't been there for nigh on 15 years but really decent food and excellent and interested staff.
Drivers can park 200 yards away on the other side of Tower Bridge Road and thus avoid the (deleted) congestion charge.
We loved the vibe. The gravy included with the chicken roast was so transformational it made me want to divorce my significant other, throw my newborn in a river, and begin a new life with the line cook responsible for such a god damn masterpiece. 9/10
This was my first visit to the Garrison. We had the Sunday roast option. It was beautifully cooked with generous portions and service was top notch. I will certainly go again. I think you need to book though as I noticed there were people who hadn't booked waiting for tables to come free.
Nice gastropub and good ambience. Food overall good, but wouldn’t recommend the beef Sunday roast. Too fatty and thick cut. Trimmings average as well.
Great sunday roast lunch. A little tight space wise but that's part of the charm.
Great food and nice atmosphere even in covid. Highly recommend.
Food was awesome, service was OK. Only thing was it was very hot, but we’re in a heatwave so hey!!
The Garrison appear to have tailored their menu to the 'Eat Out' scheme.
16 pounds for a dry bowl of macaroni is taking the mickey.
The lamb was lovely, but, again 22 quid for 3 slices.
I won't be back.
Bit hot in the corner of the restaurant. Otherwise great
Fabulous venue on buzzing Bermondsey Street. Been there. Lot and would recommend to one and all. Dealing very well with Covid requirements and felt safe. Go go go!!
Nice quiet evening, warm and sunny day. We had heritage tomoatoes and melon salad. Two massice ribeye steaks and lamb. Delicious. A bit too much anchovy in the lamb. Strangely fried chips, May have been fried yesterday, but still edible. Reasonable prices for the meat. Service was good. Wine was reasonable by the glass. A tad too much food on the plates as all very full. A drop less salt for the lamb dish would have been adequate, and a tad rare. OVERALL good value with the government discount. Otherwise similar cost for a steak at Hawskmoor.
First dinner out during lock down. So really felt comfortable choosing to eat here. Tables well spaced and service great. Only downside is ready menu on Instagram...
Excellent food; wonderful service. Looked after my parents and noticed they might struggle on tall stools and gave them extra attention.
