What a beautiful time! Such a wonderful setting and great food.
Great view Lunch was terrific
We have been to the Molly Pitcher Inn on many occasions. It is truly one of our favorite places to dine for a special occasion. You can not beat the service and the view is spectacular, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Lunch with friends to celebrate a dear friend’s 75th birthday. Beautiful view of the Navesink. Nelson, our waiter, gave us impeccable service. Food was delicious. Would highly recommend.
Sunday brunch remains the cream of the crop. So many choices and the mimosas are amazing
Such a nice setting for brunch. Presentation of the food was beautiful. Most dishes were excellent. The room is very crowded but you can still manage to get around and access the food except the carving station. That line was out of the room and down the hall and moved very slowly. Service was excellent and wait staff very friendly.
Fine dining at its best! Quite romantic atmosphere. Food and service excellent!
Family rendezvous: Wonderful company with delicious food and beautiful river view! We’ll come again...
Valentine's dinner was not what I expected. Service was poor. Waitress was not very enthusiastic about anything at all. Food was below par. Only reservation I could get was 8:45pm. The waitress gave us our check at 10:30ish and I gave her my credit card. When she came back I waited to sign the check and write the tip in while I finished my last glass of wine. She repeatedly came back and asked if the check was ready even though I was clearly still chatting with my fiancee and wasn't ready. The last time she came up and asked I said I wasn't ready and I was still finishing my drink. She replied "we need to close the drawer out for the night". What kind of service is that? I just spent $300 on a mediocre dinner and was being rushed out. Ridiculous. We will not be back to this restaurant for a long time, if ever.
First time I was Disappointed. They were understaffed, menu was poor and quality of choices was limited at best. Will not go back for special occasion.
Waiter took wrong food & drink order, bad food with repeating elements throughout the 5 course meal. Typical of an ordinary restuarant attempting to be fine dining once a year
Still here!!!!!!!! Slow as crap!!
The 5 course Valentine Menu was not very good. First course was good I had short rib ravioli and hubby had shrimp cocktail. Followed by berry sorbet. Third course a plate of bitter radicchio had one glazed nut on the plate and a 2 berries that were soaked in vinegar or balsamic. Main course my husband’s artic char was dry and the table in front of us sent theirs back. I had filet mignon in a pastry cage. No steak knife provided. Cage pastry was very over done. Dessert was chocolate mousse with gelee topping. The cookie bottom was hard and the purple mousse was tasteless. Neither of us ate the dessert. Valentine menu was $90 pp and the bill came for $95 pp. they did refund the extra $10 however. Initial seating was very close to the loud bar. Restaurant was empty. They did move us to a better table when we asked; however, curious why diners after us were not put at that table next to the bar until the entire restaurant was full. The view is nice ....
I love this restaurant. The view is absolutely beautiful. Great lunch.
Food and venue are fine. What was atrocious was the gross overcrowding of the restaurant for a buffet presentation. If there was a fire there would’ve been deaths. Could not reach half the food…
What a disappointing meal!! We've dined here for decades and always loved it, but today my meal was a bust. Shame on me for not speaking up at the moment. I had the chicken pot pie - or as it should be renamed chickenless pot pie. It was a plate full of vegetables and sauce with tiny threads of chicken. Not one discernible chunk of chicken. I ate it then I saw a diner at the next table enjoying the chunks of chicken in her pot pie! And the price is certainly too high for a plate of peas and carrots! What happened here?
Great food, great ambiance and beautiful setting. I will definitely come again soon
This is a lovely place the main room faces the water.
The table is covered with white table clothes and linen napkins. The room is quiet. The clientele is primarily of a middle-age older people at lunchtime. I had the salmon. It was cooked perfectly. I thought the risotto was good. My friends had a lobster sandwich and enjoyed it. The service was good. You can park your own car or have it valet.
Always a wonderful meal at “The Molly”. Celebrating our Father’s 93rd birthday. The Molly Pitcher Inn is his favorite restaurant. He and my Mother celebrated many anniversary dinners there.
We go for my birthday and Valentines Day to Molly Pitcher. We always have Fabulous service and having a cocktail in the bar after dinner is a must. The bartenders are very personable. The food is always delicious and cocktails are fantastic.
The wait staff is very professional and accommodating. The food was excellent.
The Molly Pitcher Inn is a favorite spot. It offers superb food, ambiance, and top notch service.
I expected more. The food was good but not wowed. Service was ok. The ambiance lovely.
We started with the Atlantic Chowder. There may have been more bell pepper than we would have preferred, but the broth was creamy and tasty. The crab cakes were excellent as was the salad that came as part of the entrée. As always, the service was friendly and efficient. The experience of the dining room is pleasant regardless of seating, but we sat by a picture window overlooking the river. It was particularly nice. We enjoy dining at the Molly Pitcher Inn and hope to continue to do so.
I’ve gone there for past 8 years for Christmas Eve & it was excellent but this year we had a new waiter. He forgot our salad, bread, we never got our salad, bread only when we asked for it. We asked him if he could wait a while before serving our entree. Within 2 minutes, he served our entree. He rushed our meal, forgot the salad & bread. We took a guest with us, told them how terrific it was there. My husband & I were embarrassed over the service. Normally we have the waiter who has been the best. The normal waiter we had , has a mustache, bald & a true professional. He even recognized us, wished us a Merry Christmas. However this new waiter that we had Christmas Eve, rushed our meal. His service was very poor.
What’s was with the discussion in front of us about the table? Was it “lets see if we can get them to take this table in the walkway near the service station?” Which by the way was totally unacceptable.
Food was good; service was very slow. Wines? Well, we have a chardonnay, a pinot grigio, a pinot noir. Are you kidding? Unless you are drinking box wine, I need to know the vinyard and year. No offer of a bottle. MPI, are you trying to hold revenues down? Had to ask for a wine list and the first glass of our white was warm. Don’t you keep a bottle or two chilled?
Requested a side of verts (which were on the menu as an accompaniment for another dish). They never came. Dessert was plopped down in front of us with “dessert”. No explanation of WHAT it was, no offer of coffee or tea. Staff decided it was a plan to whisper and talk about other customers next to our table.
The place looks great, the dishes were tasty. It is missing the class that the atmosphere leads you to believe is behind the front doors.
We will go elsewhere for our special occasions in the future.
What a lovely way to celebrate Christmas Eve. Such a beautiful atmosphere. Good food, great service and happy families enjoying themselves. Tasteful and not overdone, but feels festive and warm. Wonderful piano music throughout the night.
We hadn’t been to dinner at the Molly Pitcher in probably 15 years. It used to be quite good back then.. On our recent experience there the food was not good. The portions very small. The bright spot was our waitress, she was excellent.
Holiday brunch with friends- food was excellent. Needed more servers to handle the crowd
I wanted to try the Molly Pitcher and ever since Thanksgiving. We wanted to make a reservation for 10 people and we were told to begin calling on October 29. I called the next day on the 30th only to find out that all 750 Thanksgiving reservations were sold out in the first hour. Apparently people started calling at 6 AM the day before and I had no way of knowing this. When I found this out I thought this place must be really really amazing. I went there for dinner and it was fair service wasn’t great there was only one waiter on the floor and although it wasn’t super busy he had about eight tables to tend to. I thought the food was. mediocre. I had the tofu risotto which was good, and my friend had the pork chops which he said was also good; nothing outstanding though. I think it would be great to go for Thanksgiving dinner, the view is amazing and I’ve read awesome things about their Thanksgiving day buffet. Hopefully I’ll be able to be one of those 750 People that gets a reservation for Thanksgiving 2020. All in all I gave the Molly pitcher three stars, it’s kind of a stuffy old-fashioned romantic restaurant that has a limited selection of food that in my opinion is only fair.
Everything from food to service was wonderful! We’re definitely returning!
Christmas brunch- beautiful decor, excellent service and food. Highly recommended.
The best brunch in New Jersey. I have never been disappointed.
Can’t wait to go back. My mom and I were comparing it to the Carlyle in nyc.
I took my management team for Christmas dinner- very special- everything was wonderful!
Restaurant was very cold, as was the hostess who greeted us. Menu has not changed since last year when we were there for my birthday. Food was ok, as was the service. Although it was noted when making the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, nothing was done to acknowledge this. Don’t think we will repeat our visit next year.
Great food and atmosphere
Received first phone call main DR closed
Second call dis regard
When I got there Main DR closed. Reason given few reservations
Elegant. Always a treat to be at The Molly Pitcher.
Nice place, I would probably go again to try another dish. I got the fish and chips, but the fish wasn't good at all. The fries were great.
