The Dartmouth Castle
We take bookings for small groups downstairs in the pub, as well as for our function room for larger groups. If you would like to know more, please give us a call or send us an email.
Overall excellent. Should take customers' coats and have a coat rack. Restaurant too long and thin - should remove Victorian Bar.
Helpful and attentive staff made this evening go smoothly. Good choice of wines and varied menu. Our food was very good and arrived in a timely fashion, not rushing us at all. Staff kept checking everything was ok. Lovely place to go
I really enjoyed my first visit to Dartmouth Castle and the food was fantastic. Our table was a very tight squeeze, we asked to move to the next table and the bartender/waiter told us the next table was a joint booking with the following table. When the guests for the next table arrived they were nothing to do with the other table, slightly disappointing to be blatantly lied to. Other than that we had a good pre-theatre meal and drink.
Superb food and friendly service, as always. Our new firm favourite
Thoroughly enjoyed my wild boar ragu and my partner loved her Italian sausage penne. We have struggled for years trying to find a pre-gig venue for dinner near the Apollo, but from now on I will choose the Dartmouth Castle every time, a lovely pub with fantastic food and friendly, efficient service.
Always yummy food. Service smidgen slow considering it was quiet (no pudding offered) but friendly and a lovely pub
Great Sunday lunch - good food and excellent value. Good choice of beers and wines too.
Nice and relaxing atmosphere. Good choice of food. Helpful and friendly staff.
Attractive, elderly pub, just beyond the hurly-burly of Hammersmith Broadway. Clean and well maintained, and, inside, lots of comfortably worn wooden fittings.
An excellent venue for a pre-theatre meal. Interesting menu served with care and enthusiasm accompanied by a wide choice of drinks including an impressive array of gins, beers and wines.
The Dartmouth Castle is hard to beat for good pub food served by friendly and thoughtful staff. Nice to see free newspapers at the bar too.
Good service, food was great - apart from the little hicup with the portion orders. But quickly resolved and service was spot on! will 1000% wild boar ragu!!
Nice meal with good service, I thought the wine list was on the expensive side and a very average pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord was £5.10 with but then again I'm not used to London prices!
My first time at the Dartmouth Castle, but we will definitely be back when next in the area... This place is a real find. Great food, good service, good value, good choice on the menu and lovely atmosphere.
Excellent food and great wine list served by a friendly team of people. Traditional pub atmosphere added to what was a great evening.
Always a lovely hot meal and friendly service. Unexpected glass of bubbles for mum for Mother’s Day was a great touch.
Enjoyed the whole evening with my friends, starting from a very warm and friendly welcome. However, it was very noisy so everyone had to speak loudly, making it worse.
We were on our way to the Lyric theatre so lookng for good quality...but fast service. And we got both. Loved the food, great service - vey welcoming and friendly staff.
It's a pub - so the noise level can be high...but that's what you get in pubs :) Would defintiely go back next time we're at the Lyric.
Have been to the Dartmouth Castle many times with friends, family and colleagues and it never disappoints. The food is always delicious and the service is quick and friendly, no matter how big the group is that you are dining with. I will definitely be back!
Great dog friendly pub (although it's more like a restaurant as it has table service). Very friendly staff, nice menu.
Table for 5 for a lunchtime business meeting. Good menu and enough of an ambience to not be overhead but not too much to make conversation difficult.
Delicious food makes it a popular venue, so great if you are looking for a buzzy, cosy place.
Great food and efficient and friendly service. Highly recommend
very yummy roast - wouldn't mind more veggies but very good and served hot - friendly service
Wow, what a menu! Enjoyed everything about this place. Will definitely be coming back for a more relaxed evening when we’re not rushing to a gig
The Dartmouth Castle is a neighbourhood gem in Hammersmith; it has amazing food including some truly delicious authentic Italian pastas and the service is great and friendly. Love this pub!
Really great food and good service! It get's busy at lunchtimes so make sure you book!
Super friendly staff and food was delicious
This was a find via Open Table when we suddenly needed dinner options in a different neighborhood than planned. It turned out to be a good find. The menu wasn't the same old tired pub grub and the service was excellent. From the prawn skewers/white bean and ham soup starters to the apple and berry crumble, the food was tasty and decently priced (for London). The two gentlemen serving were helpful with choosing a beer - good selection - and we never were wanting for service. Definitely would go back.
Very good food and the services was well-timed and friendly
Great venue. Went for dinner prior to a show at the Lyric - just a couple of minutes walk away. The staff were excellent and the food was very good. Only negative is that there was only 1 vegetarian main option.
Up there with the best Sunday roasts we’ve ever had.
Great food and service! We enjoyed it a lot! Most recommanded
The food and service are always excellent at the Dartmouth Castle, just beyond the noisy scrum of King Street.
Not cheap, but excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Great food and service as always. Interesting wine list with many options by the glass.
Great service and tasty food, a great pub with really good staff
Another good meal at The DC, a great spot to visit before heading to The Apollo.
The food was good and solid, the atmosphere very nice and the waitress was very welcoming. I would definitely come again.
Very tasty food and a good choice of fish/seafood options. Went upstairs to eat, as it was too noisy downstairs in the bar area for a good chat. Really friendly service.
