Lovely food good service though very busy. Got our drinks wrong a few times! But other than that very nice would recommend
Food was good
service was excellent
Value was good
Excellent service and amazing food 5star plus.
The best Sunday roast I have ever had .
Our group ordered two mac and cheese, one as a side and the other as a starter, they charged £4 more for the starter and it was exactly the same size as the side. The only difference was you got 1 piece of garlic bread when it was a starter, so we essentially paid £4 for one piece of garlic bread.
Also, I ordered a cocktail and they charged separately for each individual ingredient put into the cocktail so it ended up costing £11.30...
Excellent menu choices, especially for Vegans and Vegies; highly recommended! :)
Excellent lunch pre lockdown (again). Service and food was good and handled in Covid friendly manner. Lovely pub/restaurant, will definitely return.
A lovely afternoon, really well organised for the current guidelines, well done to all the staff!
Best fish finger sandwich in town! Thanks
Have always had great experiences previously but this visit was far from the norm... Was extremely busy and had to wait an hour for the food... Understand reduced menu but prices were very high and food choice poor.
Waiting over an hour for sandwiches. Service was very poor and waitress was very rude. Disappointing as I had recommended to friends however will not be visiting again.
This was a very successful visit to the Cricketers and had taken on board request for a quieter table although very busy. This was very much appreciated and host very helpful. The food met our expectations and minor requests fully met. As stated waiter very pleasant without being overbearing, altogether a good lunch. It was better value as offering a 25%discount during October as prices fairly high and acholic drinks pricey but overall a good experience.
Great menu, cheery staff, good wine list and easy parking
The staff and atmosphere was very friendly.
The COVID procedures were fully applied, adhered to and clearly defined.
The service was great and we didn’t have to wait long to order or receive our food/drink.
A good choice of beers, but there could have been a bit more variety on the food menu.
Although, overall, a very pleasant lunch was had.
Would definitely recommend.
Delicious food and great Corona virus measures! 25% off for eating there on a Monday was a bonus too! Service was brilliant.
I have been a regular client of the Cricketers over the last few years and always enjoyed the experience. However on Sunday 25th October, we found the prices have shot up and do not feel it represented value for money. A price of 18.95 for a roast beef lunch is totally over the top. The staff were excellent and the COVID precautions very good, but we will not be returning.
Wonderful service and an awesome meal
I hadn't been here for a while, but the new layout is a great improvement and has the feel of rooms, rather than a corridor.
The menu didn't look very exciting, but the food was all very well prepared and it seemed that each item on the plate had been cooked with a bit of TLC.
The service was prompt, polite and never invasive.
We will be going back very soon
Dinner was lovely and the service was good everyone was polite and friendly
Great place to eat
Good meal and atmosphere and friendly. Would go again
Having been a fairly regular customer at The Cricketers pre COVID we were looking forward to returning with friends for a midweek lunch. Service was abysmal and we had to ask to order food and chase up drinks orders when nothing was arriving after a long wait. My husband did chase the drinks up on one occasion to a female member of bar staff, she may even have been the Manager, I’m not sure but no apology was offered when she delivered the drinks to our table. Waiting staff in general were slow and inattentive and it wasn’t busy. On a positive note the food, when it finally arrived was good. Thank heavens!
Food excellent, thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were a table of four and all had a main and desert.
Great food in a nice pub by the green. Will be happy to return.
We have had better meals there. The chips were as if they had been cooked a while ago and been reheated. We had a reservation at 4pm.
My friend and I had a lovely meal and the staff were all friendly, helpful and polite.
Very pleasant experience .
Another great meal at the Cricketers. Still offering a very extensive menu including good options for vegans and veggies in our family group.
Friendly service and excellent Covid preparations. Happy to recommend
The whole experience was amazing, we were sat by the fire which was lovely and all the food and drink was out standing! I will be booking again!
We've been to many of the Whitting and Hammond restaurants and we love them, we've even got a loyalty card! But on Saturday we were really disappointed with our dinner. My partner didn't like her fishcake (in fact she didn't eat it) and the chips that I and a friend had, well how shall I put it - the lid had come of the salt pot over them, to be honest I was surprised the came pre-salted...both myself and my friends were not great all. My friend complained and we were under the impression that a new portion was coming...but zilch? The waiter, who was good eventually made a reduction on the final bill....
Excellent Covid measures and extensive menu choice. Waitress was very friendly and helpful and the food was of a high quality and served hot.
Friendly staff, efficient service, covid secure, good food
Lovely helpful staff, lovely food good atmosphere would definitely recommend
Service good, food not so. Fish cakes barely warm. In general seems overpriced.
Very accommodating lovely meal would recommend it
My friend and I had an excellent meal but the table we were sitting at in the library area was drafty due to the front door being kept open
Good meal and all the staff were lovely, friendly and polite.
I have visited twice this week and as always there was a warm welcome, the COVID arrangements very good and instructions clear however on both occasions it has been cold inside so not as comfortable as usual also whilst most of the food has been good the chips have been awful and definitely not up to previous standards. Chips aren't something I normally eat and are therefore a real treat when I go to the Cricketers especially as they are usually so good. This week they have been cold and almost stale in taste, such a shame.
Great food and really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Lovely place for a couple. Roast dinners was lovely and good vegetable selection. Desserts were amazing!!
2nd visit with the new rules in place and felt very safe. They are following the rules and are doing so well.
Food was good as always and we were very grateful they accommodated adding two more guests (no more than 6) to the table.
Fab service support the pub and get out
