The Cricketers Inn
A wonderful setting. The food was tasty and presented to a high quality
Really friendly staff, good food and the very best choice of gins.
Felt it was good food ,good choices
Good service. Every thing was good
But is now not as good value . So many are offering a very competitive fixed price menu. Pricing seems so much than your others in chain. We ate a Chaser which was less money
Great food, staff were attentive timely, and friendly.
Great welcoming atmosphere with a candle lit dinner, bonus points for free on site parking with plenty room and same day booking availability!
Had a lovely visit. The first of the new year. Food was great and service efficient, friendly and quick.
Great food and atmosphere. Fantastic time had by all!
Very nice all round, couldn’t have asked for more
We've always found the food a little bit and miss at The Cricketers and this time's experience was just the same. All of the starters were good, unfortunately for the mains it was somewhat different - the Beef stew was excellent however my husband's peri-peri chicken burger was very very dry as was my friend's partners steakburger! We didn't have any deserts, just coffees. The service was fine, although the waitress did remove the wine glasses from the table without asking and then had to bring some more glasses back when ordered out wine!
Another nice dinner, squeezed in between Christmas and New Year.
Great food and service
Lovely food great service nice atmosphere highly recommended
Wonderful meal, once again. Three of us visited on Christmas Eve and had a table at the centre of the room which we thought would feel a little odd, but actually it was fine. As our other visits here, the staff were friendly and the right amount of attentive (even though they were very busy), and the food was gorgeous (peri peri burger, turkey burger, farmhouse pie, 2 x banoffee pies, treacle sponge) and we just had a lovely meal.
The pub was very crowed and table were too close together. Waiter having to ask my daughter to put her chair in to get past. With more consideration to client rather than seeing how many tables they can ram together would go along way. Food good but lighting was poor. Very noisy.
Such a lovely place to spend time whether it be dining or just having a drink. The service is fantastic and the food is very delicious.
Very Christmassy. Staff behind bar friendly. Daily special menu had added choices. Our party had the fish and chips, shin of beef and the catch of the day. All of which were delicious ( maybe the chips were not the best- tasted re-heated) but we would return to sample other dishes in the future.
A very nice seasonal atmosphere. We really enjoyed the food and the service was very good.
The only thing that stopped this being 5 stars was where we were seated, we reserved a table even thought it was a very quiet lunchtime and were seated by the kitchen and cellar doors. this turned out to be a bit noisy. If we hadn't booked we could have chosen a window seat which would have been better.
A very enjoyable Sunday lunch. Good food and good value. Recommended
Food was lovely.... Services was brilliant...will definitely visit again.
Lovely Sunday dinner, been here a number of times and never been dissatisfied. Highly recommend.
We have been here twice now for Sunday roast. It doesn't disappoint, great food cooked nicely good choice of meats too. I had a gin fizz which was delicious.
Service was poor, waited ages for menus for dessert! Two of the girls waiting we’re not very attentive, Shame as one seemed to know this was a problem! It’s a joke really as service charge was added! Food was over priced and the sharing Camembert was tiny, like the smallest cheese size! Not enough for two people! The £25 lamb was also disappointing as the red cabbage was burnt from reheating! Such a shame as this used to a favourite local!
Excellent food better than expected would recommend
Always a lovely place to have a nice bite to eat or drink in a beautiful setting and ambiance. Food is a little over priced by a few pounds in my honest opinion on a few dishes, it’s a shame as I would visit a lot more regularly. But food is always great and very well cooked but expected at that price. We had the special onion soup which looked like it was missing half the liquid and onions needed sweating/cooking down a bit more, again due to the price my expectations are higher. My wife had the fish special which was cook perfectly and I had the burger which had amazing flavours and a perfect char to the meat
Top notch food really good staff, very busy but still was cosey
Booked through open table and on arrival my name was on the table. Service was good and food was very good. Enjoyed our meal with friends
I’ve been here a few times and always felt pretty much the same. Foods decent enough but overpriced. Not by much but enough, what you’d be happy paying £15 for you’ll pay £18.
From this visit specifically the service wasn’t great for a table of 8, just seemed too much for them.
Also avoid the treacle and syrup sponge, nasty pre packed awfulness. And as fir the vegan custard thats hideous. How hard can it be to have dairy and non dairy custard for gods sake.
Save your money there are plenty better in the area.
Staff were lovely, very helpful but not over powering. Food came out lovely. The pub has a nice atmosphere and we had a great time
Lovely place to eat the staff are very friendly the food is great , a very nice menu, always very welcoming
First time at the cricketers really enjoyed the evening with my daughter Charlotte
Great food and nice place
Although food was tasty, was not very hot at all. Was shown to table , but waited long while for our order to be taken. I live in Meopham and have done for years, but Pub has gone downhill and too expensive, went in on Sat night as well very young children rolling around the floor then sitting on the bar at 10pm at night. Considering we paid £28 and £21.50 for two Bottles of Wine, both of which were not good think the service and prices are ridiculous, Giy serving said the £28 Bottle was cheap for round there, not everyone in Meophsm is rolling in money!
We visited for Sunday roast for the first time, it was delicious. I had the sirloin of beef, my husband had the triple roast (sirloin of beef, pork & chicken breast.) The Yorkshire puddings were huge and very crispy just how we like them. The seasonal vegetables were fresh with a different taste as the cabbage was crunchy and very flavoursome. For dessert we shared a banoffee pie we were full to the brim with enjoyable food.
We had a large glass of Malbec each too.
The Sunday roast did not disappoint we shall be going again soon.
Food was good and service ok however where we sat there was a untidy pile of high chairs and chairs next to us. Looked very untidy and spoilt the overall look of the place.
The staff are always polite and efficient, the food is always hot and the whole place has a nice feel to it.
Sunday roast very overpriced! The beef was very good thinly sliced and tender, the potatoes were okay but the Yorkshire pudding was tasteless and like eating cardboard. Not enough vegetables for two also very bland. Overall we were very disappointed we have had many lunches at the Cricketers which mainly have always been fine. Will not be returning for a roast which at 18.95 was extortionate!
Went there with the family to celebrate my wife’s birthday and our grandson’s first few weeks at Oxford University. Staff very attentive and food and drinks were very good. Would recommend.
We were sat by a door that kept opening, we did ask to be moved but this wasn’t possible. Food helping was large but not great. Menu wasn’t my cup of tea. Quite expensive for the quality of food.
Great food tentative staff great atmosphere thank you Cricketers’s
It’s a lovely pub & restaurant with great food. Unfortunately, although we booked in advance, for a birthday celebration, we were sat by the door & toilets & people kept knocking our chairs going in & out. Cold wind blowing in every time the door opened meant our food went cold quick. Our waitress was terse, bordering on rude. Normally love this place but this time round it was a bit disappointing.
Huge choice of food but not enough vegetarian choices. Desserts are over priced as is the majority of the food, but the food is good quality so you get what you pay for. Pub has a lovely atmosphere and we didn’t notice until we left but there is a table of board games for customers, nice idea. Overall a popular place to eat but don’t come thinking you will get a cheap pub meal because you won’t!
One of the best pub roast dinners we’ve ever had, it was AMAZING! It was also about £10 more expensive than the other really good ones we’ve had but was a special occasion so decided not to worry about price. Great wine, fab beer, lovely friendly and helpful staff, no wonder you’re always busy!
Wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Thanks for a great a Sunday afternoon, made all the more special by receiving a ‘Save the Date from son and his fiancé at the table!
