The Cricketers Inn
A very poor quality lunch. The food was very over cooked, not a professional standard by any stretch of the imagination. I didn’t complain as did not wish to offend my host. Service was very good though and it has a nice ambience. The chef skills need addressing in my opinion.
Good pub good food but very disappointed as we booked on line and was sent a menu but when we got there the menu was totally different we had a lady that is allergic to fish she had picked out her meal but on the day none of it was there and she was very restricted
Nice local spot with quality food and great service
Good food, extensive menu and good welcoming service.
A great overnight stay with a fantastic dinner and breakfast
This is the second time I have visited and it was a very different experience to the first time. We had to approach the wait staff on a number of occasions rather than them come to us; when we asked for the bill we had said excuse me 4 times before my friend got up and went to the two waitresses who were eating crisps chatting. I found the staffs manner rude and unfriendly. The food was OK, mine was the koftas on the special and they were over cooked, but the knowledge of the menu was quite poor. We asked if their were nuts in the sticky toffee pudding to which the answer was 'i dont know' and we asked what the meat was in the pie again wasnt known. Its fine the waitress didnt know but there was no attempt made for her to find out. All in all i woudnt recommend or rush back.
The starter was cold so it had to be sent back
They had run out of a lot of the specials (it was only 7:15pm) so I
Didn’t enjoy my main course
We were given the wrong wine but it didn’t get replaced we had to drink it
We felt the Staff were not really interested in us
Lovely food, real cosy friendly pub. I had lamb kofta and partner had the pie, kids had burger and chips. Cannot fault the food, good portions and good quality. Picturesque views of Meopham Green, inside is old and new mix. Would say it is a tad overpriced.
The cricketers proved a disappointment on both the food and service. I was looking forward to the meal as the Chasers Inn within the same chain is consistently good in my opinion. The food here was however slow in arriving and was mediocre at best.
Fantastic venue and lovely outstanding seating area. Great food and drinks. Very nice but very expensive for what we had, compared to local alternatives.
We have visit the cricketers previously
But this time didn’t feel the staff were very friendly although they were professional
Thought the food was expensive and the corned beef hash was rubbish
Delicious food and drinks, great service and quirky, interesting atmosphere.
Portion size on pasta dish was small but nice. All other food great
Way to expensive...and waitress didnt ask what size wime so i think i was probably given a lafge one...small lime and soda £1.20!!!
The food is always of good quality and the service is excellent . Friendly staff and everyone’s food arrives at the same time . Whilst being attentive the service is never intrusive .
Friendly service with well cooked and presented food.
Just wasn't what we'd hoped. You book a table for a birthday lunch and you get given a wooden spoon, you ask to order and are asked if you want pay as you go ? This isn't a restaurant, it's a pub. I asked for a mojito as I was told "we don't do any of those sort of drinks"
The food was average and very expensive for what you got. The chef could use a lesson in seasoning as everything was bland, I had the superfood salad & it stood up to it's stereotypical view - bland. My Mum had fish and chips and the batter was soggy and not crispy at all. We would have said all of this to our waitress but she seemed quite distracted.
Ah well.. You live and learn, £80 on lunch for 2 could have been better spent elsewhere.
We waited nearly an hour for our food. The food was mediocre.
Good food with decent service. Enjoyable experience.
Good food, good service, good value. Sitting next to the kitchen door made it a bit noisier than perhaps we would like but overall this is a lovely pub which we come back to time and again
We visited the Cricketers Sunday 4th Aug. 3 starters . 2 prawn cocktail with avocado. One had just prawns and lettuce, the other prawns , lettuce, avocado and cucumber 🤷♀️🤷♂️ Calamari hubby said was good. I didn’t have a starter. 2 roast chicken, good. 2 roast beef with the gravy served over it. Both were quite rare in the middle but wasn’t spotted until have way through the meal. I think how like liked it should have been asked when ordering. Dessert 2 banoffee ok not the best. 2 spotted dick and custard . Only one finished and hubby said not the best. Wasn’t like by my sister in law. Staff always good. I’ve since been told The George do the best roast in meopham so will try there next time to compare.
Thank-you so much for a lovely meal last Monday 29th . We came at lunch time . Staff are fantastic ,really friendly .
One member of staff helped my elderly friend down the steps and to my car .
Lovely pub . Xxxxx
Booked a table for 6, only 4 attended, we were shown to a table and itbwas a bit noisy, asked to be moved, no problem. Service was good and plenty of staff.
We thought menu a bit restricted, but food was served hot, and with a smile. During meal staff checled all okay
A bit expensive but overall a good eveningl
Table service was excellent. It is a little confusing when you arrive as to who to speak to if you’ve booked a table.
Bar staff were busy so had to wait to be seated. However, once sat down service was very good.
We had Sunday roast, this was good but vegetables were not very abundant and a little mushy.
Drinks choices were great!
We had the best fish and chips ever at The Cricketers Inn. I had watched a clip on line, of how it is cooked and just had to give it a try. It exceeded expectation! Will definitely be going back.
Service and food was brilliant. We really enjoyed our evening.
Booking was changed from 2 to 4 people. It was unbearably hot in the restaurant. The menu was poor. Food was over cooked and one meal wasn't edible. Since management change this place has gone downhill. Wouldn't recommend and never going back.
I generally do not make recommendations hence my choice to not do so. I went early evening, with a friend, mid week. It was busy but not to the extent that it was disruptive. There was a fair amount of noise from other patrons. The food was average. The pricing was in line with other local establishments. The service was attentive without being intrusive. My first choice item from the menu was not available, fish of the day. That was disappointing.
We had a meal in the garden which was very pleasant however one of our party was served a pint of beer that was off - it was replaced but the staff member was flippant and I didn’t feel it was taken as seriously as it should have been - a free drink would have been nice
Great food great service...staff lovely and friendly..
cold salad on hot plate, never should happen service poor considering quite time
Food was excellent as usual but for reasons unknown the service was very slow but this would not stop me booking again.
We took friends for lunch this week. The restaurant was busy and unfortunately there was a large party of ladies lunching just behind us who made it impossible for us to hear our friends speak. Obviously that wasnt the Inns fault but it spoiled our visit. Next time I must ask for a table at the front overlooking the green. The food was good but on the expensive side.
I pre booked a table for 2 and we were seated by the door leading to the stairs to the toilet which wasn't great, especially as it gave a cold draught because the outer doors were open. we asked to be moved and it was no problem..infact a better ambience at the busy eating area the other end. Food was great, service was great..although when we paid our bill the young man handed my husband the card payment device and asked him if he would like to leave a tip..which was a bit naughty.
But we will definitely will come again!
Great pub, great food. Veggie roast was delicious. Would definitely recommend. Will
Be back again for sure.
Lovely home cooked food very popular so wise too book especially b/h & weekends good size pub garden with comfortable seating & sun shades if required,
Parking is limited so allow time on your journey for this .....
Best fish and chips I have eaten would highly recommend
Having visited many times before with friends, we were excited to bring our family to celebrate our daughters success in her first year at university.
My husband only eats beef and we were very disappointed to find that on the main menu he only had one choice of a burger. Steaks were available on the specials but incredibly overpriced. I chose the surf and turf, steak was great but no meat in the lobster apart from a small claw, very sad. Really the only good item were the onion rings. Altogether a very disappointing visit which we will not be repeating any time soon. You have become very overpriced
Great lunch thank you! The service was great as was the food!
Food is amazing. Seats could be a little more comfortable. But overall cosy, warm and friendly.
