We went on a week night. We had 4 people and found the table very cramped for seating 4 people. With an empty room there should have been two tables put together. Service was not great. Waitress spent too much time visiting with the kitchen staff instead of checking on our needs. Food was very good and a very unique atmosphere. Just not the level of comfort and service you would expect for a fine dining experience. Tables would be fine for 2 people not four.
Our server, Destiny, was wonderful and the food was fabulous, as always!
Awesome place, good service, the only thing is that we wait a little longer for our order, but was an enjoyable night celebrating my daughter's birthday.
Very nice restaurant. Wonderful crepes.
Staircase is not handicap friendly.
Haven't been in over 30 years - was looking forward to it but the food was just okay - not exceptional - the savory crepes. Dessert crepes were awesome. French onion soup was not anything special. Restaurant was very warm - too warm, Ambiance and decor is charming.
There did not seem to be enough staff and our waiter was struggling to keep up - perhaps there was a issue in the kitchen too?
We booked a table for 6:00 prior to the Elton John concert. We informed the waitress on arrival of our plans. Drinks were ordered and then meals were ordered when the drinks arrived. We ordered the croustille au fromage, a favourite as well as crepes. After waiting 30 minutes I tracked down a waitress to find out if the food was coming. She went and checked and eventually brought it out. Surprisingly they were cold, but still tasted pretty good.
We continued to wait for the mains. And waited. And waited. Over an hour after we ordered I again went to find the waitress and she went to check. Still not ready. I finally approached her and asked what the problem was, that we needed to leave for the show. She informed me that the order for the mains had not been placed until the appetizer was delivered (late and cold?).
We asked for the bill, paid for the appetizer and drinks and left. There was no offer to comp any of the items. Overall a most disappointing experience.
Off our list - the creperie has been a go to for us for a nice meal often preceding an event. We used open table to make a reservation, were sat quickly then the waiting began... after 75 minutes, empty glasses, not even a water refill or cleared salad plates, we asked for an update on our meal. Our waitress was busy handling complaints from other tables, we waited further then got up to leave. Our server tried to grab us to get us to stay assuring our meals would be out in “2 minutes”, when we expressed we were done waiting, she promptly collected payment for our drinks. The other two tables in our section were sharing their displeasure with the slow service an poor food quality. Sad an icon in our city has deteriorated to this
Fantastic food. Excellent service
Great food great service but found the drinks a bit expensive!
The only reason I’d recommend this restaurant is because the crepes has a delicious sauce. However the sides, the orzo and the roasted vegetables had absolutely no flavour. And it was as if the crepe was microwaved at the end. The service was weird, the waiter did not smile, did not wait to ask us any questions, didn’t wait for us to ask him any questions. He seemed almost annoyed that we didn’t want any of the wine. He just seemed angry and annoyed and definitely was not teaching the waiter shadowing him properly. She just sort of stood there. Other than that not bad.
Chose The Creperie for ambiance and it didn't disappoint. Private tables with good separation makes conversation uncomplicated. Idylic, calm setting with pleasing French music. Attentive waiter, fast , good service. Loved the decore but needs a refresher and table was very clean. Fussy about food but lamb rack and cod special were delicious. Shared dessert combo great choice since chocolate needs raspberry and raspberry needs chocolate.
This is a unique restaurant nestled cozily downstairs. It’s interior design and rusticity add to its charm. The food was fantastic!
I have always enjoyed the creperie. though the last two times, I have order 2 escargot appetizers and both times only one was brought, same waiter both times, he apologized saying he thought we had only ordered one. this last time I wasn't happy with where we were seated, I find the booths along the back wall to be less intimate and crowded, over hearing others conversations and visa versa.
Wonderful ambiance and loved the crepes. Our server was attentive and pleasant
Our food was good but the service was terrible. We sat our table for a while before anyone came to greet us, we didn’t have a server in general and no one checked in if our food was good. The only service we got was when we asked for our bill and they got it for us immediately.
It was our anniversary and the night was perfect. The atmosphere was just what we wanted, food was delicious.
Quiet and relaxing
Great meal again never disappointing, we've been here many times over 40 years!
Our server was great. Took the time with us and met our needs. The food was delicious but I was expecting more with a large salad. i was still hungry when the meal finished, should have got the 3-course meal.
Love this place. So romantic and unique. The food is amazing. Highly recommend ;)
Great way to spend a birthday at an intimate, romantic venue with great food and stellar service!
Our evening was absolutely perfect. Ryan went above & beyond to take care of us. Will absolutely go back again.
Ruined my surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend. I regret coming here so much. Please look a different place to celebrate any special occasions. Yes it looks appealing in the picture, but in person it is totally different, smelly inside as it is in the basement. Smelly old basement, food is not tasty. Food takes forever. I wasted my money and time here. Please avoid this place until it is renovated. This my first time ever writing a review as I am so upset and disappointed. I should’ve trusted the bad reviews in this place.
Great restaurant. Been going for years. Great food as always. Only con was it was very hot and humid in the restaurant despite our waiter saying AC was on full blast.
The feel was perfect for our honeymoon and the music reminded us of pleasant memories. Thank you for the experience.
The food was amazing, the service however was not. Once seated at our table it took 20 minutes just to get a waiter over to take our drink order. Throughout the meal, he barely checked in and when he did he was already running away before we could answer.
The ol' restaurant is getting a little bit tired and needs a through cleaning and slight update. Some of the furnishings have been there for decades and need reupholstering and the little jars of dry goods are looking pretty sad. The dinners were served blazing hot but the stroganoff crepes were underwhelming. The beef was tough and the sauce was thin. Both the appetizer and desert were good. Ryan, our waiter was pleasant and accommodating. We love the ambiance of the restaurant but it's time to hit the refresh button.
The time for this place has long since passed sadly. Would never go back.
The Creperie is one of few restaurants downtown Edmonton that has a romantic ambience, excellent food, and service. All for a reasonable price!!
We have visited every year for our wedding anniversary. This is our 41st, but we have visited as well many time!! Always excellent food and service!!
I enjoy the ambience and food. Service a bit slow but overall a good experience
Used to be my favorite place, something must have changed because portion sizes are a lot smaller and quality is not the same. Menu has not changed in years but you can see/taste poor ingredients. Will not be returning. Disappointed it was once so good.
The food was great. The service was also exceptional. The only downfall was the price of alcohol. $10 for a beer and $14 for a glass of wine. Absolutely ridiculous.
My friend and I enjoyed our meal very much. Thank you.
It was a nice evening. I felt the service was a bit lacking, we waited quite a while for someone to even come to the table and then our drinks came after the soup and then we waited quite a while for dessert. Food was good and the experience was also enjoyable.
We went on a Wednesday night so it was rather quiet. The atmosphere is super romantic and food was amazing. Must try!!
We have been going to the Creperie for over 40 years and it is still as exceptional as ever - the only issue we would bring up is that some renovations are obviously needed in the washrooms. They were very clean but obviously in need of some updating.....
only if they have a stash of hundreds specifically for restaurants.
