We have been to this restaurant before and loved it. I was disappointed we were seated in the back room- not much ambiance, we were kind of squished at our table and people kept trying to get by so we were constantly adjusting our chairs. It took 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. The food offered for the sunday brunch is wonderful! It took another 20+ minutes to get our check at the end of the meal. The servers were sweet but not very attentive- I think they were overwhelmed.

Food and service is always great at this hidden gem! Alicia ( who works at the Bar - and among other things ) was very efficient, polite to all guests, and offered different/alternative drink options. You can really see her check in on all her tables consistently no matter how busy it gets!
This place is always worth going back to!

Excellent sever, Fernando, who was attentive but not overbearing. Lucked into eating lunch on the Saturday of Lake County Restaurant Week, where the prix fix menu was a whopping $12 and very satisfying. It had been a year since dining here, and the quality is still sharp and focused, from the menu to the wait staff to the ambiance. I will definitely be back!

First time visit on the way to a show at the Genesee theater and would definitely go back, nice atmosphere with a fireplace view, excellent service and outstanding food. We ordered the special restaurant week special which was very reasonable price and just right in portions including a choice of salads soups, entree and desert. We had a group of 8 and everyone was very pleased.

Food was very good . Service was slow and lunch took a long time . It could have been a combination of Lake County restaurant week and being under staffed

First time dining and the experience was okay. We came for lunch on the weekend and the place was surprisingly busy. They seated us at the smallest table in the place. We had a reservation so no wait time until we got seated. No service for over 15 minutes. Several servers just walking by us with no greeting, no water, and no bread. They served us the bread at the end of our meal with the desserts. We ordered an appetizer/wings that were delicious. The first course of butter squash soup was good and the salad had shaved bits of chocolate. You could barely taste the chocolate bits so pretty much a strawberry salad with a vinaigrette dressing. The entrees of salmon sliders were just okay but nothing special. The philly steak sandwich was served on a very good French bread but overall tasted dry. The desserts of chocolate cake and mousse was delicious. I recommend the mousse! Pretty much to sum it up, I’d only come here for dessert and nothing else. Extremely disappointed as we hoped for a better experience at a restaurant we have been wanting to try out for so long. We will not be returning.

It's been a while since we have been to the chocolate sanctuary. We came for my birthday dinner. The table was by the fireplace. Our server was very attentive and ready with the specials. We had the fried calamari. Macadamia nuts Salmon, stuffed pork loin and strawberry dessert. Very well done.

Great atmosphere especially for the area. However, the food leaves something to be desired. Stuffed pork loin was totally overcooked and rubbery. For the cost, we expect more.

Though I've driving by the restaurant many times, I'd never been before now. I like the whimsical theme of incorporating chocolate (or cocoa) into most of the dishes. Service was cordial and efficient. I did think that the ribs were a bit dry and had very little sauce. The server did accommodate my request for extra sauce. My guest was slightly disappointed in a rather dry shrimp scampi. Nonetheless, I'd give Chocolate Sanctuary another try in the future.

There was a large church group (2 busses) that came in shortly after we arrived which caused quite a delay in getting food and a shortage of items - I believe I stood in line for about 20+ minutes just for one item. There needs to be a better game plan with such a large group.

Terrible experience! Very inattentive and unfriendly server. They ran out of items at the bar and the kitchen. Sat with only a glass of water for 30 minutes. Had to ask for bread. Was delivered a basket of 3 rolls for 4 people. Pork was delivered to the table extremely under-cooked and we had to send it back. Two meals were suppose to have a baked potato and they arrived with a different potato - we were never asked if a substitution was acceptable. For dessert, beignets were served still raw and doughy. We asked the server if this was how they were supposed to be. Her response was "No, but it shouldn't make you sick; I would eat it". Extremely overpriced for the amount of food served. The temperature in the back room was either warm or a cold breeze blowing on you. Worst experience, with a high price tag. Would not recommend or return.

Had reservation but still waited almost an hour to be seated, it took 10 minutes to get drink at bar, they ran out of lobster, shrimp and asparagus and wasn’t very accommodating or offering to many other choices. The manager said she would come back to our table with options and never did. Was seated for 15 minutes but still no bread. Staff didn’t seem genuine. Left without eating due to not having alternate food choices for the entrees they ran out of. Not going back.

Enjoyed Valentine's Day dinner with my wife and this was our 2nd visit here. Because it was Valentine's Day, they were offering a limited menu. My wife ordered the NY Strip and Lobster and I had the lemon chicken. I really liked the chicken as well as the rice it came with. When my wife's food came out, they had substituted shrimp for lobster. When we asked about this, we were told that they ran out of lobster so they were substituting the shrimp. The lobster was the reason my wife chose this entrée, so we were disappointed. The manager apologized and said she would adjust our bill. She took $5 off the cost which I felt was not fair considering that all my wife had was steak (she didn't like the shrimp). They then took $10 off. We weren't looking for a free entrée, but guests should be told of any substitutions before making them.

Alicia was our server and she was great. We were not in any hurry and she allowed us to enjoy our night without feeling rushed despite a lot of people waiting to be seated. My wife had the drink special which was a chocolate covered strawberry martini that Alicia had created herself. She liked it very much. We also had the charcuterie board appetizer which is described as an assortment of meats and cheeses and chocolate. It was good, but only one type of meat (prosciutto) and two types of cheese (cheddar and brie) were included. I would have expected more for an "assortment".

All in all, we do like this restaurant and will return. They do a good job and the food tastes good and the price is fair.

We were not a fan of the special holiday menu. The selection wasn’t great and there were errors in the order that I assume would not exist in dishes prepared regularly. Such as a baked potato served completely plain. When I asked for butter and sour cream it arrived hard as ice. One dish was supposed to include a serving of green beans and it arrived with one single green bean. The butter with the lobster wasn’t served with the dish. Serving sizes weren’t consistent. Two people ordered the stuffed pork and they arrived completely different sizes with one being incredibly smaller than the other. The dessert was amazing and the chocolate was fabulous. Would return again for the ambiance and dessert. Not sure we would try a meal again though.

This was a most disappointing Valentine’s Day dinner! We were in the larger banquet room by the kitchen, and it was chilly and drafty. Our service was poor- our waitress seemed ambivalent. I had Surf and Turf, which was good, but it was supposed to come with Parmesan fries. I have had these there before, and they are tasty. These were bot those. When the waitress checked into if, she said she got no good answer in the kitchen. My husband’s salmon was not cooked in the middle, and it took forever to fix that. I was already finished with my dinner by the time he got it back. The waitress said that the manager would stop by, but she never did. I understand that on Valentine’s Day restaurants are busy, but this was an unacceptable experience. We paid $96 for this! We were very unhappy with the whole experience.
