The Brooklyn is centrally-located in downtown Seattle, directly across the street from the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall and the Seattle Art Museum. We are within easy walking distance of Pike Place Market and Seattle Waterfront.
A really great pre-Benaroya Hall event dining spot. Service was wonderful; the food very good. Sitting near the bar during happy hour bumps the ambiance level up to energetic, but not at all disturbing.
Omg. This has taken 1st place as my fave steakhouse in Seattle. My daughters had the angus filet mignon cooked rare as requested. We also had the beef tournedos, raw oysters, leg of lamb and duck. EVERYTHING was cooked as ordered, served on time, and delicious. We came to the restaurant for an early dinner before catching a flight to Los Angeles. We weren’t hungry when we arrived but boy oh boy, we ate everything because it was soooo delicious. The beef was cooked rare, the duck was cooked medium as was the leg of lamb. Accommodating service and absolutely wonderful food. A top restaurant in Seattle for delivering great food and service.
Asked for medium done salmon. It was raw.
This is our go-to place when traveling through Seattle. It never disappoints! highly recommend!
It was absolutely fantastic! Will definitely be back again :)
Great food and nice setting
First time dining here and it was amazing! Every detail on the plate was well thought out. Fresh oyters with wine pairings was fascinating and I loved it! Definitely will return.
Christian's the man......He sure knows he has oysters!
Outstanding service, Convenient location to Benaroya . Had several small dishes... all were good except the ravioli which was not warmed through and dry... returned and was taken off the bill. Noise level depends on where you sit... away from the bar in the back is the quietest.
Unfriendly wait staff, only oysters received 5 stars, rest of food disappointing!! No valet parking disappointing. Expensive for its offering.
Oysters were excellent as the the chicken dish. The only real disappointment was that the service was abrupt and the waiter was very curt.
The oysters were good. But the dinner was not great. My husband had the scallops and it did not taste great. Not to mention it came out looking like an appetizer 3 small scallops on a plate for 40.00. I ordered the duck and it tasted better but there was not much of it and half the pieces were raw and I like rare pretty much everything rare but this was raw. I also ordered a drink and it tasted terrible and the server never even noticed or cared that we left with it un touched. He was an okay server but not very attentive at all. We were very disappointed with our dinner because the last time we went there about 8 years ago it was amazing.
Artisan bread turned out to be ingested okay but not super good rolls. Crab salad looked good but was very tasteless. Value for cost of meal was low.
Excellent service and great tasting food. Huge thanks to Lisa, our server.
My husband and I had dinner here for the first time. It was fantastic, we will return! The clam chowder was the best I have had in years, we enjoyed scallops and halibut for our entrees. It was all outstanding. The service was excellent. We had a well informed attentive, friendly waiter. All of the staff was very efficient and nice to deal with. The prices are high but not out of line with the quality. We also enjoyed the fairly quiet atmosphere with adequate space between the tables.
We had an amazing lamb shank that was big enough for two! Great service and ambiance.
We had a great time. Loved sitting at the counter to watch them, cook.
This is one of our Seattle go-tos. Just classic, simple, fine-ish but not pretentious dining, with excellent food, drink, and atmosphere. Service this visit was better than ever, from host to server. They were even very accommodating of our toddler, even though I know this isn’t technically a “family” restaurant. Love The Brooklyn every time.
Perfect for a date or special occasion. The happy hour oysters and vodka tasting was great. The steak and duck in the dinner menu was amazing! Love this place. Excellent service
Great oyster sampler and wonderful blackened salmon sandwich for both of us!
We got off to a rocky start, but thankfully our waiter and the food made up for our start.
I made a reservation online for 8pm. While making the reservation, I also noticed 7:45 was available, but didn’t want to cut it close. We arrived early (7:44pm) and noticed several empty tables on arrival and no one else waiting to be seated. The hostess refused to seat us until our reservation time. I said, “ok, is the 7:45 slot available?” I was told no and we proceeded to wait. No one else came in and then we were eventually seated in a booth that was open upon our arrival. My two guests visiting from out of town were unimpressed.
Thankfully, the food and our waiter was excellent! Love the chowder!!
Great food and a good time. A bustling bar with select choices. So a great place to meet friends or biz and kick back. Shoot for a table if you want to chat in detail but other than that top notch KD
Our waiter, Eric/Erik, was just great! He was personable, attentive, and made our experience extra special.
The chilled oysters, crab salad, steak (my husband's and I tasted it), twice baked potatoes and wedge salad (husband's) were of high quality and taste. I was a bit disappointed in my goat cheese ravioli. The pasta was a kid of tough and too much of a sweet balsamic reduced sauce on top. With a few tweaks, it could be a really good dish. We will be back!
Among the four of us, one meal was cold, and another was way over done. The request (on a $55 filet) was for medium...the steak came as well done...not even close. Disappointing.
oysters and salads were very good. the halibut was over cooked
The flavors were robust, everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We were hesitant to put a red wine with seafood, but the waiter's recommendation held up to the dish but did not overpower it. The waiter timed our food well and the meal went at a nice enjoyable pace. We were not rushed but we were not waiting for long periods for the next thing. We were celebrating our anniversary and I would definitely celebrate another special occasion here. It was a wonderful experience!
Always crave me some fresh seafood and heard they had great halibut. It was very good and presentation was nice. The waitress offered me a wine I never would have chosen to bring out the flavor and was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed and would recommend for that dish.
On the down side, sitting up at the bar top where they prepare sounds cool, but overwhelming smells hit you and I saw 3 people fall down the two steps trying to squeeze out of chairs crammed into a space that made awkward. I’m tiny and struggled to get in and out of chair. Not good use of space and the restaurant was oddly empty.
Oysters were great! Service was as expected. Steak was unbelievably salty. Ordered the ribeye and it was really sub-par in terms of cut quality and there was so much salt, and I really like salt. Quite dissatisfied with the steak. My coworker thought the salmon was good though!
I ordered the crab salad and when it arrived to my table it smelled. I ate the greens around the crab. Kitchen and waiter should have known not to serve it based on smell alone.
The oysters were superb. Mitch, our waiter, got the job done with great elan, but zero intrusiveness.
Crab cake, lamb shank, beef tournedos, mussels, all were a treat.
Great food, but the main thing is you can actually hear the people you’re dining with, without yelling.
Our dinners were amazing and our server, Mitch, did an outstanding jobs with drinks, wine, and good. The Brooklyn is a wonderful place for a special dinner.
Great restaurant...food is absolutely excellent; creative flavors, fresh and delicious. My only gripe was the service was a little fast. We were still finishing our appetizers when the main courses were brought out...we like to catch our breath and enjoy our wine between courses and felt a little rushed. Other than that, great restaurant and good service.
Great setting, ambience was good very attentive server.
Great food & service! Everything in a timely manner. I love the booths because it seems quieter. Our family's favorite place.
Was blown away by the crabcakes, the dinner was amazing, customer service, exceptional, thank you for an amazing evening
Great ambiance, always a good vibe at this restaurant. Food is well prepared, served promptly.
Horrible service! Waiter dropped the knife on my dad's shirt, not even saying sorry and just moved on.... Food is not bad, a bit salty. Service is not worth the price. Not going back for sure... first and last time.
Even though it was a bit loud at times, we had a very good.experience from start to finish. The food was outstamding, and the service was excellent. We'll be back.
Old school steak and seafood right in the middle of downtown for super good value!
A pleasure to have lunch there (I had the beef salad recommended by our server). I had asked for a more private table for a business discussion... they remembered and that is exactly what I got!
House Salad and NY Steak were excellent
