Thai Square Trafalgar Square
Looking out over one of London’s most famous landmarks, the flagship branch of Thai Square is a great choice for lunch or dinner near Trafalgar Square. Formerly the impressive Norwegian embassy, Thai Square is a seriously spacious venue full of traditional artefacts, heavy wooden doors and sprays of exotic flowers – perfect for laid-back lunches with friends and cosy romantic dinners. And when tourists invariably tumble in by chance, they are rewarded, as you will be, with excellent Thai cuisine. Thai Square’s authentic menu is full of familiar favourites like fiery tom yum soup, fragrant green chicken curry and chargrilled duck breast with tamarind sauce. Vegetarians are spoilt for choice with delicious dishes like aubergine and shiitake mushrooms stir-fried with sweet basil and garlic. At the weekend, the club downstairs is open until 3am – perfect for diners who want to dance the night away in style.
Reasonable meal in a central location. Very friendly staff. No alcohol free beers was a surprise.
Actually choked on the spice in the butterfly prawn starter dish - not a great experience.
Service was not great, not sure if the staff were too rushed of their feet but service was off-hand.
Good food. Service was very average.
You would get the feeling that the staff wanted you to finish your meal quickly so they could clean up your table and go home. So unfortunately it wasn’t a relaxing experience. Staff wasn’t impolite but they should definitely put some effort in making people feel more welcome and relaxed.
Inexperienced at serving wine. Ordered a Sancerre bottle. Instead of making one of us try the wine first , the waitress just started pouring both glasses. When glasses would still have enough wine in them, staff would come and pour more wine which made us feel like that they want us to drink up and finalise our dinner ASAP.
This was a dinner around 7 pm on a Monday with less than half of the restaurant full. they weren’t busy and there was no excuse to handle the service in such a manner.
The bill was brought without us asking.
We will not come back again.

We are delighted that you enjoyed our food and thank you for flagging us about the service. Hope to welcome you back soon. Sincerely, Nida Porter Guest Relations Manager
The food was sensational! We had the silver set, and they let us substitute (which was very kind of them.) The green curry was PERFECT; the veggie spring rolls just crispy enough; and my husband raved about the duck curry. It could have been way more expensive considering the quality of the food!

Amazing food and fantastic service! The Prawn dim sum and Thai red curry were highlights. Will definitely be back!
Tasty dishes and even better service

Service was great and food really lovely.
Would go back again and recommend.
Spectacular food and service. For those who like spicy food, this place hits the nail on the head. There are 3 tiers of spicy-ness for many dishes. The second tier knocked my socks off, loved it!
I absolutely loved the experience, food was lovely, looking forward to going back.
Nothing much to say except an all round good evening and good food. Thank you x
We had to flag down a server every time we needed something. Our food arrived before our drinks. My drink was wrong, our rice was so undercooked that it was crunchy, the prawn crackers were stale.
Yummy green and red curries. Awesome decor. Friendly service. Would recommend!
This is a little gem in the west end. We had the Tom kha gai soup followed by pad Thai. Food was nice however the Tom Kha Gai could have been more flavoursome.
A superb meal every dish a winner. Service could have been more friendly. Despite that we would definitely go again.
The place really has a nice vibe, but wouldn't really go there again as the food didn't meet our expectations. The pad thai felt like rubber, and the pad thai tofu felt it was floating in a sweet sauce, possibly soy or even worse felt like bbq sauce. The staff were lovely though, kept attending and really polite especially Ginga (might have her name wrong) and another gentleman and another lady.
Great location just off Trafalgar Square. Big windows so light and airy, liked the decor. The food was great and if you want to save a bit of money they have a pre-theatre set menu.
I visit London at least annually and usually meet friends and family here
It’s been consistently good for more than a decade
All was fine except for the noise level. We came in at 5.30 and it was fine, but the noise escalated, particularly at one table, which made it extremely difficult to carry on our own conversation
Great location, well decorated interior. Good service but felt food could have been better on the night
Dinner was just awful, the sizzling tiger was cold not even the plate it was served on was warm let alone sizzling.
My fish which was supposed to be a whole steamed fish was freezing and half of it missing
Our wine was warm and bearly drinkable
Will not ever be going back
Table service was slow to begin with, as we sat waiting for a while for some one to take our drinks order, but this improved during the proceeds of the evening.
the food at this venue is fantastic. we went expecting good, but our expectations were exceeded.
very good staff , very nice surroundings. what more can I say
Amazing food ... pad Thai and weeping tiger is a serious situation
One of the nicest restaurants I've been to in a long time. Lovely décor, good service and really tasty food. Will be returning.
Perhaps it’s normal to not respond back or communicate with customers in London area, but while the staff were relatively polite, I’m not sure if we heard their voice during the one hour visit. Generally speaking that’s very off putting.
Probably one of the worst experiences. My fiancé and went to Thai Square on a Saturday night and it was my fiancé’s birthday meal. I asked for Thai Square to bring me out a little cake to celebrate but they didn’t even do that. Our food wasn’t great - almost as if they put no effort. The service was even more poor - which resulted in us not paying the service charge. No one was welcoming. No one smiled at us whilst bringing us the food and drinks.
Have dined here several times. Never disappoints
The waitress rushed us to order and the food came out immediately after we had ordered it.
Great, nice ambiance, good food, reaaonable priced
Lovely meal together and the service was quick and outstanding.
They have a great selection of cocktails and the food was amazing.
They really looked after us
It used to be our favourite restaurant, sorry to say, not any more...
Food quality has declined to a 2-3* very chewy aubergine in green curry... Warm Rose...👎👎👎
Cracked tea cup ...👎
Great food. As always
This is a very centrally located Thai restaurant, with an extensive menu and good food. The Healthy Lunch Box offers particularly good value at lunchtime on weekdays. The decor is traditional and the ambience good, though the tables tend to be rather close to each other. Recommended!
Wedding anniversary dinner. It was really delicious.
The menu was extensive with Thai influence, and the food was well prepared and tasty. Portions were adequate to generous. The service was very good. It is a very good spot for pre-theatre in the area around Trafalgar square, and is very worth a visit.
We liked the food, however there was a lot of paprika (sweet pepper) in our meal, and we don't like it.
But overall it was good.
We have eaten at this restaurant several times when we visit London. The food is always excellent with a good choice on the menu and the service is always friendly and efficient.
Great variety of options!! Sticky rice wasn’t the best- sort of dry, but everything else was tasty! Definitely recommend the peanut sauce and the Tom Kha soup.
Unbelievable food and service was outstanding. Will definitely come back when visiting London again.
