Texture's style of cuisine is modern European with Scandinavian influences, and it focuses on combining and emphasising different consistencies, using British produce that is sourced from both the earth and sea combined with ingredients from Sverrisson's native Iceland – a concept to savour.
Texture Restaurant and Champagne Bar is housed in a beautifully restored Georgian building on Portman Square in the heart of Mayfair, and just minutes from Oxford Street. The main dining room seats 50 guests. Additionally, we can provide a private dining room, which is ideal for smaller parties who seek an experience of refined dining in privacy.

The most creative vegetarian/vegan tasting menu. Highly recommended
I’ve been coming to Texture for many years and have brought many friends who have returned with their friends and families. Professional, warm and friendly service. Fresh, great clean tasting food, nothing cloying. Excellent set lunch with generous appetisers, pre-desserts and petits fours.
Very pleased with the vegan menu. Delicious and beautifully presented.
Super restaurant, excellent service and superb food
Very nice experience - the Food is very Special and just an adventure
Amazing food, fantastic quality and value for money. Service was outstanding. Made my husbands 30th very special.
We had the fish menu. Food was very good. The main dish lacked flavour slightly but was still good. The starters were great. The wine menu could possibly benefit from bigger variety but what we managed to find was very good. The chief server was a tad arrogant and impersonal. I found him slightly irritating and unwelcoming. The tables were too close together for such a pricey venue. All in all a good find and I would recommend.
This restaurant is certainly in my top 5 in London. Excellent food and presentation and faultless service. Not cheap but Texture is worth every penny.
Great restaurant - one of my favourite for lunch and close to Oxford Street!
Fabulous restaurant with super food, service and wine! A def recommendation for lunch!
I have to say at the beginning of this review, that I am very much used to Finnish and Swedish food. And I really have no knowledge of Icelandic food.
Having said that, I did think there was far too much dill on the gravadlax (we had the fish tasting menu). It was chopped up really fine, and although there was a lot of it, I couldn't taste it? There was just a big mouthful of green.
The scallop was fantastic, large, hot through but was not overcooked inside.
The presentation was great too. We regretted not having the meat/normal taster menu when we saw other people having the lamb dish that came out on a large smoking serving dish.
We also had the wine pairing - we don't like white wine much, and gave the sommelier the annoying job of coming up with great red wines to match the fish courses. She did not disappoint. That was fantastic, and that's when you really appreciate going to a nice restaurant and having a knowledgable sommelier.
At £380 for 2 people on a tasting menu with wine pairing.. I gave value 4 stars, just because it's not much off what we would pay for a dinner for 2 at Le Gavroche, and the experience from Le Gavroche is far more memorable. But we probably are comparing apples to oranges...
I would recommend to my friends to try this restaurant, it's different and overall quality of food is decent. I don't think we would return though, a one off experience is enough.
Great food and service. The lamb was amazing.
Nice food, good ambience
Might be a bit too salty for Asian palates
Anyway, me and my mom had an enjoyable time :)
Staff were great
Tables far enough apart you can talk
Didn’t feel rushed
There's a reason this restaurant has a Michelin star. Excellent
We went 2 days ago and chose the set lunch menu. It was a fantastic experience - all 3 courses were of a high quality, very inventive and presented in a beautiful way. Service was impeccable, too. The restaurant itself sets a great scene, a wonderful combination of contemporary style in a traditional building. Overall: perfect!
Really enjoyed this wonderful Icelandic restaurant. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic service and superb food. We had the special offer menu and would find it hard to say which was the favourite dish amongst the 5 courses, they were all so delicious and stunningly well presented. The wine steward was so helpful and knowledgeable too. Will thoroughly recommend Texture to anyone.
We love coming to Texture. This is our second time. Our first visit was four years ago and the experience matched our recollection of how much we enjoyed this innovative restaurant. We are planning on making this an occasion every time we visit London.
Always a delightful experience
They Icelandic salmon appetizer course was quite unspecial , at least for my tastebuds. Everything else was very good
Incredible food and great service. Lunch menu was incredible value
Outstanding. Food service and ambiance. The set lunch has to be the best value out there.
My favourite restaurant, never fails to impress and Thursday was no exception, always helpful and knowledgeable, service was spot on and the food outstanding.
Fantastic quality food and attentive staff. Overall a really lovely evening
Fantastic service from start to finish. Each course of the tasting menu was delicious. I am four months pregnant and they couldn’t have done more to accommodate me. The servers were knowledgable about all the ingredients and they had a great selection of virgin cocktails and dealcoholised wine.
I’ve been many times and recommended to several friends. Food always excellent. Relaxed, informal, friendly.
A superb restaurant with a great interpretation of Icelandic cuisine. We had the fish tasting menu; it was exceptional. Beautifully presented and tasting incredible, our meal was a delight. The service was also excellent from all concerned. The ambient noise level was low, meaning the noise from the kitchen spilled into the dining room a little because of the restaurant layout, but equally my wife enjoyed her view of the chefs at work. A very enjoyable evening all around.
Fantastic restaurant, very relaxed, lovely atmosphere. Food and service was excellent as you would expect from a Michelin started establishment.
The name of the chef and the door handles and general decor of the restaurant are a big clue to the heritage of the food being Icelandic and whilst that may not be obvious in every course there are definitely a number of good pointers, our favourite was the Smoked eel dish (warm smoked eel, bonito broth, quinoa, turnips) which was outstanding as were the heritage tomatoes with burrata - such a simple dish but with so much flavour. I should also mention the wine, a wonderful sommelier who was exceptionally welcoming also made this a meal to remember with excellent pairing wines from around the world to match each course perfectly, a very good Turkish wine in particular. All in all a great meal and very enjoyable experience.
This restaurant continues to be one of our favourites anywhere in the country. We are always greeted very warmly. The service is faultless as is the food which is always well cooked and beautifully presented.
We look forward to visiting London so that we can enjoy lunch or dinner here.
Very imaginative preparation and presentation of cuisine. A beautiful experience all-around!
Flawless. Went to Heston’s at The Mandarin
Oriental and it was hard to distinguish the two. Thank you
Another fabulous dining experience at Texture. We have visited four times and food is always first class!
we had the vegetarian tasting set and the meal was delicious. all the staff members were very welcoming and service was super speedy throughout the entire night. it was a bit loud though as we sat close to the kitchen.
We had the fish tasting menu. Brilliant food. Very pleasant service. Made to feel very welcome.
Really a great place in Victorian style decoration. Inventive English/Island cuisine (took the fish testing menu). Great wine choice. Dessert probably not the reason to select this place but rest of meal was amazing !! Price details available on their website.
Outstanding in every way. Wonderful staff, fantastic chef. Loved it.
We had a fantastic evening and great experience! Highly recommend this place
Wr travelled from Dublin specifically to go for dinner in Texture, and we weren't disappointed. The service was impeccable. We opted for the tasting menu (1 regular and 1 fish) with matching wines. Overall we were very impressed with the quality and presentation of each dish. The treats with our tea and coffee were a lovely extra touch.
