Terrain Garden Café - Westport
The beautiful ambiance of Terrain, with its lush plants and twinkling lights, is a setting I enjoy. I wish the food were more consistent. Among the appetizers, the rosti with leeks was truly delicious. The green hummus was overly chilled and ho-hum in flavor - beautifully plated with a cascade of raw vegetables and generous flatbread for dipping, but the hummus itself was dry - a puree of chickpeas which someone forgot to season, it seemed. The burrata with crostini and squash was delicious but served in a bizarre, tiny little bowl which made it difficult to eat. Upending the dish on a plate made it possible to cut into the burrata round and mix it into the little diced squash pieces. The burger and soggy fries arrived not quite warm. This restaurant is so appealing, I just wish the food were more even.
THE BREAD!!! MMMM.....
Lunch was lovely, no complaints.
The grilled cheese and carrot cake were spectacular. Too noisy at lunch, but great service.
Creative farm-to-form offerings served in a contemporary, urban setting. Inspired by nature's botanicals, dining here is —The Destination!
Fun environment with great food and service
Fabulous in every way!! The ambiance, our waitress and the food were excellent!! Will definitely be back!
Poached eggs were overcooked but other than that good was great
As always, great food and great service!!
Evertging was great! Really enjoyed our meal
Honestly we have enjoyed Terrain in the past but the menu was way too limited and not particularly interesting. The Scallops and the chicken we okay and but nowhere near excellent. The salad was supposed to have goat cheese but we didn't even notice the "Smear" We asked for me but by that time we had finished our salad.
Menu not extensive but everything is top notch quality. From crispy chick peas and freshly baked bread to inventive and delicious salads through excellent meat and scallop entrees.
Several vegan options. Great wines by the glass. Desserts were sublime- apple bread pudding was outstanding! Will return.
Date with daughter.
Food and ambience is terrific. Service is abysmal. They really need a professional manager.
Love Terrain. Atmosphere is lovely, a little getaway. Food is good, service always excellent
Love the atmosphere here, such a cute spot. Food is always good, though a little pricey for it to be a frequent brunch spot.
Don’t go if you don’t have a reservation as wait times for lunch are 30-45 min. The place is paced with non-working women’s groups engaged in conversation long after their meal is finished. They no longer serve Nutella French Toast as these same patrons complained of nut allergies (despite having several other types of nuts in other entrees). Ambiance and food is fantastic but it took forever to get our water and bread, order taken and then the meal and then the check. Not a good place for a business lunch.
Good experience. Food was healthy and delicious. Restaurant was a bit cold/drafty so dress warm with layers. Hostess was so sweet and accommodating. Waiters was nice but rushed. Beautiful ambiance.
We had a fantastic New Year’s Eve dinner at Terrain. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, and we had great service. The food was outstanding, and we especially liked the Farmhouse board, which was a great value. Of course we had to get the chocolate terrarium for dessert! We look forward to returning!
Uninspired from start to finish. Food is “meh” and menu is limited. Service is unpolished and the pace is too slow. It’s a cute spot that COULD be fun, lighthearted, and a place you’d want to return to again and again .... it is none of those things. Skip it.
The restaurant is housed within the garden store with a very comfortable vibe, plants all around and lovely atmosphere. The food quality and service was very good and it certainly shows they care a lot about running the restaurant well. It's casual and a great option for a burger, salad or soup and definitely a step up from fast casual restaurants. A great place for lunch or dinner with friends or to bring the family.
Always a great experience! Great atmosphere great food
The ambiance is amazing
The food was meh yesterday
My daughters went with their aunt for a Christmas brunch and didn’t want to complain but the quinoa bowl had raw squash in it and honestly the need to get gluten free bread and better gf vegan options
Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food! We had the sweet potato fritters as a start and they were fantastic!
One of my favorite restaurants in Westport! Perfect.
A delightful and delicious brunch with girlfriends followed by inspirational shopping. The perfect way to spend the morning!
Love Terrain Garden Cafe especially at Christmas because it is decorated so beautifully! We were lucky enough to have Rachel as our server again!! Rachel has such a warm & bubbly personality and takes great care of us every time! We started with the Farmhouse Board, Ricotta & Figs and the Mushroom Soup & then had the Salmon & Pork Belly for dinner. Everything was simply delicious!!! We then finished with the Vegan Creme Brulee & Sunflower Butter Tart...both were absolutely divine!
I know there is busy place.but Service is not good.
Food was not as good as before
Birthday Lunch For a Friend
We had drinks and muffins and loved it! Grateful for the gf options!
Only complaint is the bathrooms at Terrain are consistently gross. Not sure if they have ever been cleaned.
One of my all time favorite places to eat in Westport ... was celebrating my birthday with a Bloody Mary and Eggs Benedict
Enchanting atmosphere & great place for a girls’ lunch!
Service was terrific, food was outstanding as well, and we were pleasantly surprised to have a free app brought to our table because our entrees were going to take a bit longer than usual to prepare. Only downside of this visit was the noise level seemed a bit higher than what I’m used to here, though the restaurant was pretty packed at the time so certainly understandable as well.
Gorgeous atmosphere. Great homemade food. A bit loud but overall great
I have taken three family members there so far this month! It is my Christmas Treat to all! I wish I lived closer- I would be thrilled to work here. We love this Place!!!!
I like the food but the noise is way too loud N
Lovely ambience, delicious food, and absolutely wonderful service - very friendly and helpful!
It is a lively atmosphere BUT make reservations in advance AND ask for the interior dining space even though it will be loud.
The exterior space closer to the retail areas feels too much like a cafeteria with shoppers in your perphial vision.
I have eaten here many times and maybe they just had an "off" day but we waited 40 minutes even though we had a reservation and the food was not good. The bread was undercooked and served cold and the chicken was rubbery and not good. I will of course go back as the restaurant is typically good.
