I love this restaurant. It is in the neighborhood and I had not been there recently because there are so many good ones close. I took a friend there from out of town. she loved everything about it, as did I. I'll be back!
Terrible service waiter left us practically stranded we asked busboy for Brad four times and iced tea three times. I have never had bad service there before
At lunch - Food Good , nothing special.
Service - Fair
Price Value - for area fair
Loved the ambiance, the food, and the service. We'll definitely come back!
Magnificent food, presentation and service! A little noisy but worth it!
I miss the burger. Turkey burger was okay but nothing like the Tavern Hamburger! Also thought the DineLA menu was a little lacking so didn't order from it. Thanks.
Poor service with an attitude is not what a customer is looking for when going to a restaurant. We were quite stumped.
Excellent food and service in one of the nicest rooms on the West side (the large atrium room). Not inexpensive.
LOVED IT! My quinoa bowl with asparagus, spinach and poached egg was innovative, healthy and delicious. My friend said her hamburger was especially tasty and the fries were nice and thin. The atmosphere was upscale and hip and we can't wait to return.
Absolutely. Horrible. Service. I will never go to Tavern, AOC or Lucques again. Ever.
Tavern needs a refresh. For example, the doors to the bathrooms have been opened and shut so many times the paint has worn away. The couches all have missing buttons. It's dirty. You don't have to look far to see that a coat of paint and a good cleaning would bring this Brentwood staple up to par. Food was okay, seems like they have lost inspiration and running on reputation vs. producing good food. Service was good, no complaints there.
It was lovely, all the way around. Great service! We’ll be back.
Food wasn't that good. We had to send back twice and it took forward to get our food. Nothing special at all.
Food was fantastic!!!
Service was great! Really love the indoor/outdoor ambiance.
Really wonderful food and a gorgeous calm environment with great drinks as well. The breakfast menu could benefit from a few more gluten free options. Also, they ran out of croissants at 10:30 limiting the menu further. Still my favorite though the small breakfast menu limits who I can take here.
The food and service was simply delightful, add to that the lovely ambiance of the patio and you have the perfect combination of a wonderful dining experience!
I have recommended to friends--including the friend I brought this time!
All was good - the food, service, ambience. Have been there twice in the last week.
The Atrium room is gorgeous and comfortable for any occasion. Particularly impressed with our server who timed the steak perfectly and didn’t rush us to finish our salads. Highly recommend!
Tavern continues to be the best food and most professional service in Brentwood.
Have been to the restaurant many times. This is the first time that I would not be able to recommend the restaurant. Service was poor. Food was no more than fair. Had hosted out of town guests...Very disappointed.
Three meals were good.
The baked eggs FAIR
The Turkey Sandwich...should have been labeled stuffing sandwich and Turkey surprise.
Be surprised if you found any Turkey.
The restaurant asks whether you want to eat in the "atrium" or inside in the lounge but says they cannot promise to give you your choice. We said "atrium" of course, which I imagine is what most people do, and unsurprisingly ended up in the lounge, where the noise level is very high. The service was slow and the food unremarkable. It seems this restaurant is counting a lot on its prime location to sustain its business but they should keep in mind that in particular people who experience the lounge might not return. As for me, next time I would call ahead before leaving home and ask them to guarantee a table in the atrium, without which I would take my business somewhere else.
Good service, brunch came out a little slow (Father’s Day crush), but they more than made up for it with kind and attentive service and free desserts.
My wife said it best, "the shine has come off Tavern". Our party of four arrived in time for our 10:30 am brunch reservation, was seated in the Blue Room, asked to be moved to the main dining room because there were at least four empty tables and was told we have full reservations and could not be moved. 10 minutes later, the table next to us was seated, the woman got up, went to the host, asked to be seated in the main dining room and they were moved. My wife order coffee and it came with coffee grounds and asked for a new cup. We placed our order and after a lengthy wait, the waiter came over and said they were having trouble in the kitchen and he was sorry for the delay. The food for three of us arrived 50 minutes after we ordered and we waited another 10 minutes for the fourth order. That order arrived with burnt toast, (one would assume the chef/cook would see the toast and not served burnt toast). The waiter knew we were unhappy and said they would provide desert for us. They brought a cherry tart as a desert, though never provided us with a menu to select a desert, (not sure a cherry tart goes with brisket hash or eggs benedict). We've had such good experiences before and this time, they dropped the ball.
I think Tavern used to be one of the better places to eat in Brentwood. And perhaps within that small designation of that neighborhood, it still is. To be sure, the environment is lovely. The seating very comfortable. One doesn't have to yell to have a dinner conversation here. The setting is great. The service was mostly attentive though we had some problems. The host stand was exceptional though at getting us taken care of. Considering the problems we had, a bit of a shame that we paid over three hundred dollars for what was okay food.
What I like about Tavern is that the waiters know enough not to push when people are in conversation. And conversation is possible there (unlike whatever latest "trendy" thing has opened). So good for dates! Food is reliably excellent.
The location is great and the restaurant is beautiful. The food on the breakfast menu is outstanding. The avocado toast is the best ever r
Regarding my score on ambiance, certain parts of the restaurant need refurbishing like paint for a lot of the woodwork and hallway to bathroom plus a bit of lighting for the hallway to the bathroom. Your patio room looks lovely. xxxxxxxxxxxx
Great patio area to enjoy brunch on a sunny day. Portions are a bit small for the price but the food is excellent. The juice selection is also really good.
Not like it used to be....tiny portions, and just humdrum food. Not worth it at all....I'm sorry we went here for brunch.
Classy but warm service
We hosted a graduation dinner for our twin sons at Tavern. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, and our "waitress" was outstanding! It was a lovely evening.
It was a lovely evening however, it was so overpriced. The dessert was $14.00 and it was SO dry. Cherry cobbler. Also, a side dish of veggies was also $14.00 Almost $200.00 for 2 people. Wine $20.00 a glass. My food was very average.
My friend and I went there for brunch and the options were sufficient. Loved the lemon ricotta pancakes and the avocado toast, along with the lattes. Would definitely return and opentable made it super easy to book a table and modify the time as was needed.
We had a dinner party with 5 of us. Food and cocktails were delicious, service was great.
Tavern never disappoints. The food is always good and the service is great. It is also always crowded, so be prepared to sit close to other diners.
Love this place. Have celebrated several occasions there and it always feels special.
Great food. Half good half not good service. Ordered drinks and waited. And waited. Asked a manager to check. She said bar was busy. Really? No one at bar and not making drinks to rapidly. They sent over a cheese tray
Food good but not worth overall fair service
