The waiter seemed to take his time with everything: giving the menu, bringing out our food, and the bill at the end.
Your server by the name of James was so great, friendly, smiling face. Not your receptionist in the front though. They are so opposite.
Takami is a Downtown staple for sushi - an oldie but a goodie. The food and service have always been good and it's a nice place to take clients for lunch or a date for dinner. The lychee martinis are the best!
Server was not good. She wouldn’t even come back for more order even after asking for her three times.
The Ambiance is really nice, was very loud, I believe because people come there after they get out of work for happy hour, anywhere around the bar was super loud. The food was okay, but they put mayonnaise on a lot of sushi dishes, which I have no idea why.
The service was not very good, I have to yell for my waitress when she was walkng by our table, never once looked over at our table as she walked by. I had to yell, excuse me, a few times, just to get her attention.
When we notice the bill was not correct, took forever for them to correct and get us out of there. Was not the most pleasant experience.
Cute place, nice people, extensive menu (something for everyone).
Great food and great service. It was def on the pricier side but with the Groupon it was worth it.
There's a reason my wife and I picked Takami as our spot for our first anniversary. Amazing cocktails, unbelievable food, and a great view of the city - Takami is a special-occasion kind of place. Do not pass up the Takami edamame. It may be an appetizer, but it's probably my favorite thing there. That's not a slight on the sushi or the filet mignon - their edamame sauce is just that good.
Very nice ambiance. Good view. Very food sushi!
Always nice food and ambiance. Maybe a bigger portion of the dishes can make it more worthy to dine in this restaurant.
Service was great, food was great. A little expensive but good place to grab a quick, small bite. Will return!
It was good. The only thing is they brought out an order with additional sashimi that we didn’t order and theyorder they didn’t offer to take it off of the tab. it was more expensive than the one we wanted.
Great food but this place has a serious issue with service. I’ve been there twice and it seems extremely understaffed as it took forever to get water refills, to order our food, and took more than 20 minutes to get our check! Great place and great ambience but the service definitely ruins the experience
The view was nice, the service was oustanding. The manager even comes out to the tables to speak and meet the guest. The food is pricey but it is excellent. It was a great experience. They have a wonderful happy hour!!! Great food and great pricing!!!
Pricey. Octopus sashimi $16 for 4thin slices 👎 Sushi platter was the best value. Loved the tartar tower of avocado, salmon, crab topped with a slice of sashimi.
Dining room needs a touch of color.
Takami is on the 21st floor, breathe taking view of downtown L.A.
Great Happy Hour before dinner. Red house wine is excellent as well as the service. Ana is the best!
Dinner was delicious we ordered Chilean Miso Sea Bass, Japanese Tacos and Grilled Angus Filet!
Great views of LA while dining with my significant other. Great date spot! Food was delicious and service was friendly. Very nice atmosphere.
Food was exceptional! Service was great and views were awesome!
Amazing views of Downtown Los Angeles, Food was pretty good. Service was ok, Sitting by the window was a plus.
The view of the city was amazing from the restaurant! We ordered two different rolls and both of the rolls to us were very bland. I rarely use soy sauce with my sushi but with both of these rolls, I had to, to give the rolls any sort of flavor. Was not worth the price in my opinion.
Great place and , fabulous food! We have been there 4 times and really enjoyed the experience
I tried Takami Sushi for the first time with an out-of-town friend. The city views were spectacular, the atmosphere was fun and energetic, and the sushi was melt-in-your mouth outstanding but the BEST part of our experience was our server, Alyssa (or Lyss as she's known by the staff). She was high energy, enthusiastic, had tried everything on the menu and was a phenomenal guide for the "food journey" she said she was taking us on. And she definitely made good on her promise! Fantastic restaurants and fantastic food can be found everywhere in LA, at every price point. However, outstanding service is more rare. I'd absolutely recommend this sushi restaurant and, if you want to kick it up a notch, I highly recommend you ask to be seated in Alyssa's section!
Overpriced. There was no dish we liked. Waitress never came to refill water . Ever. Would not recommend.
Service was very slow.
there were a lot of moths flying around, and that made for and uncomfortable evening.
Great service and excellent food. The staff was friendly and made our experience memorable.
Amazing and the service beautiful
Great sushi on a beautiful rooftop terrace! Highly recommend it.
I took my assistant to lunch to celebrate her birthday. It was her first time dining at this resturant and she enjoyed the food and the view.
Great venue, excellent food. The lemon albacore roll is the absolute best and the salmon sashimi never disappoints.
Best service, food and view! Still my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. Even the bartender is incredibly nice. Plus great mixology.
Amazinggg sushi— no seriously- it’s the best I’ve ever had and I live on the water in Florida. Little loud at times and service can be a bit slow getting to the table to get started but it’s all worth it for the Takami roll!
The service was pretty terrible. Our server was nice but barely came back to check on the table. Our first few orders of sushi took over a half an hour to come out and then we ordered four pieces of sashimi which took another 15 minutes. We ordered a $30 bottle of sake, but they brought out a $20 bottle. I thought maybe they rang it in wrong but then they tryed to charge us for the more expensive bottle when we got our check. We also paid with a Groupon and the restaurant charged a 15% service fee to use it. Overall it was not worth it.
Great restaurant. But prepare to leave some serious cash. 2 people, no alcohol - 150$. But definitely worth it and we would come back
Great food, great service and the manager was very kind when coming to the table on several occasions to ensure our experience was going well.
I've always had great experiences here at takami but this last visit was one for the books. I have never been so well taken care of and acknowledged. Aside from our friendly server we had two great managers on the floor. I saw them work every table. And interact and really go above and beyond what's needed to make every visit a 5 star experience. Thank you. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my dates bday. Oh and the good was divine. Thanks for everything guys
Manager sam was super awesome and friendly, ambience here is great and the sushi is 5 stars for sure
Every time we come here , everything is soooo good ! So far we did not have anything which was disappointing . My absolute favorite are the Japanese tacos .
Milton was our server . He is so genuinely nice , it was a pleasure dealing with him . I wish there were more like him around .
We will be back .
The manager is amazing ! The food is delicious and the view is beautiful !! We will forever come here as “ our spot “ for anniversaries and special occasions thank you
Host with an attitude. Awful table organization. No seating system in place. Food is just mediocre. Only good thing was Andrew the GM. Definitely not returning
