Quick service, yummy fresh food. Very good location and have photo menu that easy to order
Really nice food and service.
Nice place - kept our reserved place for us even though they were busy. Speedy service and good food.
Have been here a couple of times in the past month and have found the selection of all day dim sum to be very good. There is a good range of vegetarian options in both dim sum and the main dishes.
Very welcoming, with a quick service on seating and the servicing of food. The air conditioning was high so cold at times. There was quick turnover of getting customers in and out of the restaurant.
Generally overpriced and food very average. On the plus side, service very prompt.
Service was good but disappointed with the food, we thought it was ok, not great. The dim sum dishes were ok or good, but the Singapore noodles were not right and the restaurant offered to make a fresh dish which was better 2nd time.
Brilliant, fresh, high-quality tasting food at all times. Great vegetarian choices too!
Service mediocre despite the restaurant being less than half full. Food fine, but priced higher than average and I particularly don’t like service being included compulsorily when the service has been substandard
I've been going to Super Star since around 2005, and it's my trusted go-to place when I want to bring guests that may not have had dim sum before. They didn't disappoint this time either! The food was great - my favourite is the grilled turnip cake/paste, and the xiao long bao really surprised me with the amount of soup in the dumpling. All in all great experience, and right next to the West End theatres which makes it very convenient for theatre goers.
I did not like the fact that after adding 10% services directly on the bill, they were expecting and pushing towards further service charge when they presented the Credit Card reader! It was very unpleasant.
Went here on Chinese New Year, staff were very friendly and food was good, came out in good time considering the amount of people that were in the restaurant. Staff handled the stress very well and food was very good with portion sizes being generous.
Good quality flavoursome food , our first time in China town, great experience a Valentine’s Day/ Chinese new treat!
Recommended by a friend. Very good Dim Sum. I would visit again. Friendly staff.
Table available on New Year's Eve. Food delicious; we had xiao long bao, double cooked pork and vegetable chowmein with crispy noodles. Could be slightly cheaper but perhaps that is just central London for you. Prompt service with drinks and food. Good ambience. Our main waitress was abrupt; we felt they were rushing to get us out as soon as our food was finished (although this is not unique to Superstar in Chinatown).
This is a good quality restaurant in Soho. It is clean and not noisy. Good for dim sum. The only disappointment were the spicy vegetables.
Great food, nice staff, good ambience. Tables a bit close
Good choice of dim sum. Always get a complimentary item. Great staff
Booked at SuperStar, but a table wasn't available when we arrived. They took us next door to their 'sister restaurant'. Food was okay and service was the same. Not a notable experience, but then not bad either.
Great reviews on Open Table lead us to Super Star - the food was generous and delicious. Pricing reasonable. Definitely will return.
Food average...Menu B prawns too hot and chicken not very tasty. Service poor after they got busy and had the feeling they were understaffed. Noone made an apology when a waiter knocked a glass off the bar which dropped very near my grandson. Spotted a female member of staff with her fingers in the food before serving. Yuk!!
we had a meal here after the theatre, restaurant was very quiet and food was fine. Service was good and friendly.
I have brought friends back to Super Star a few times due to the absolutely delicious food. They have a very swift system with table changeovers which I've always found very impressive. The portions are huge and I would recommend the salt & pepper chili seafood platter to my grave - it's absolutely incredible (and has brought me back a few times!).
It's not hugely glamorous but it's great food and swift service. Great for friends or a relaxed dinner.
The food is very good, but service and value better. I will definitely visit again.
We booked a table for lunch with four of our grandchildren (aged 2 to 6) who wanted to celebrate the New Year of the Sheep. Restaurant was quite busy so it took quite a while to serve the whole meal but the staff were very friendly and tolerant and we all had a very enjoyable time.
Service was friendly and efficient. We had soup followed by 3 different dishes which were OK, nothing special. I had 4 different Dim Sum and they tasted as if they had been cooked from frozen. The sticky rice parcels tasted as if they had either been reheated or over cooked. So a disappointing meal.
My husband and I had a fabulous meal and great service.
good overall, went there for treat with my younger sister for dinner to end our day in London seeing the sites. Food was nice and well timed. would recommend :)
super star is one of the best chinese restaurants to have authentic dim sum & cantonese food in london china town, very family friendly, attentive service & reasonable price, highly recommended !!!
