Food was fantastic. I had the tuna tartar appetizer and the chicken and waffles.
Went to Summer House for brunch with my family. They did a great job at not seating people on top of each other. They wiped down the table before we sat. You saw kitchen staff changing their gloves constantly. With everything going on, the staff and manager took our safety seriously. It was such an enjoyable experience. Thank you for just letting us feel safe and happy!! Thank you, to all your staff working as a team! You are a great example.. truly a great experience.
The food was very good and the ambiance was great.
I LOVE SUMMERHOUSE
And Peter was EXCEPTIONAL SO adorable
LOVED THE ahi tuna watermelon tostada. Brussels salad with grilled chicken is my go-to and obviously the apple oatmeal cookie warmed with a birthday candle on top :). Always a crowd favorite place.
Loved our waitress as she was adorable and attentive and wonderful and loved the food and the ambience and can’t wait to go back!!!
Just to raise a note of caution in view of the coronavirus ... while the staff was cleaning tables with wipes, when a customer requested hot sauce, it was simply taken from one customer's table and set in front of the customer at the next table.
Great food and they have gluten free options
On Sunday I went to have dinner at Summer House with my husband. The waiter was very nice and the food was delicious. On our way out we decided to get some cookies for our daughter. The lady in the counter (9:20 pm) was in no hurry to engage with us (the only ones waiting). She finished brewing some coffee, cleaned the machine very slowly (my husband even made the joke that we really wanted to buy the cookies that night). Even though she knew we had been waiting for a while, she was determined not to help us. When new costumers walked in she immediately took their order instead of ours. She clearly did not feel like helping us and managed to ruin an otherwise very nice evening. It was a shame.....
Great food. However the prices seem a bit high for this area. $35 for salmon?
Very crowded and it feels like a food court! I think they added more tables than what they initially had when I went there the first time last year. We sat close to the kitchen and every 10 minutes or so we would get a smell of something burning like a rubber burning smell which was very nasty. I wouldn't recommend this place for big group nor a special occasion restaurant. Very casual and very disappointing. The server was great though.
Having brunch with friend to celebrate birthdays
Server behind us spilled 2 mimosas on try and floor and some of it splashed on friend’s purse. Server did not apologize or assist in cleanup. Women at table next to us alerted other servers that the floor needed to be cleaned. Women at table next to us put chair over spill so the servers and customers would not slip
Servers were generally inattentive and unaware
Too loud, too cramped and too pricey. Eggs for eggs Benedict cooked perfectly. Overall, kind of flavourless. Would not be inclined to return simple because of California style cramped seating and noise. Miss the West Coast, this is your place.
Delicious breakfast food!
Great ambiance and food. Really appreciated the gluten-free menu!
Summer House was very nice, great staff, great atmoshphere and great food. My issue was with the parking, there was no parking anywhere near and I ended up taking 30 minutes to find a spot. Unbelievable and if I hadn't dropped part of my party off I would have left.
We visit the area once a year and this was a must-do-again restaurant for lunch. It’s a fun place to be when it is frigid outside. This year we tried and enjoyed the Caramelized Brussels Sprouts to share in addition to the Jalapeño Cauliflower we had last time. The highlight for two of us was the Brussels Sprout Salad which was fantastic!!! We all snacked on the crispy French fries that accompanied the Turkey club sandwich had by one. Some fabulous huge cookies to go and we all had a smile on our faces!
Not our kind of restaurant. The dining room is dull looking compared to the bar area. The menu offers too few choices. We had a hard time picking one among the non-inspiring appetizers which to my displeasure are "for share", something trendy in the "millenials" culture.... The place is not cheap. We had a bottle of mediocre Malbec wine (with a twisting cap) at $45 and that was the cheapest on the list. The art of cooking does not seem to rank high in this restaurant's business model. Good service though.
Had a reservation on Sunday at 12:30 pm. We got seated around 12:45 pm. Our waiter was fine. We got the turkey club, grilled cheese with tomato bisque, and the peppercorn burger. My peppercorn burger was average and I wasn't really fond of the sauce. The sweet potato fries were well cooked but had no seasoning. The two guests who ordered the turkey club liked their sandwiches. I like that they don't have an overwhelming menu but it felt a little limited and the menu items were a bit similar. I think they could add just a few more options and make it a bit more diverse to make it a more enjoyable experience. In terms of price I felt they sandwiches were few dollars higher than they should have been as the ingredients didn't taste exceptionally fresh or overly tasty.
Love eating here. Great brunch vibe and good service.
Always great food and fantastic staff. This is a favorite!
Service a bit slow. Overall I love this place. Wishing service can be more nicer and friendly
Our server was very observant and took care of our needs
We didn’t have to wait and the food was great!
The service was awful. We had two different servers the first was worse than the second. It took 10min to get drinks. The first server seemed to be more concerned with chatting with friends then his customers. We finally got our meals and the food was great, as usual. The server did a check and we asked for ketchup to go with the fries my daughter had. He took forever to get the ketchup and when I turned to see where he was, I saw him with his hand over top of a silver ramekin of ketchup - his palm was touching the top. Another server grabbed him and took the ramekin back to kitchen and served it on a plate in a proper manner. That server ended up taking over our table. She was more attentive but still quite slow. It took over an hour for a two sandwiches and a cookie. We put our order in with our drink order. The drinks came 10 min later and two minutes later the food came. The rest of the time was just waiting on the servers.
We will definitely come back with in the area.
Made a reservation and was sat in the bar area. 26 degrees outside and the air conditioning was on. Cold coffee, Bloody Mary’s tasted awful, had to send back. Others around us couldn’t drink theirs either. Server offered to warm our cinnamon roll, took 2 tries to get that right, still cold in the middle. Bacon was undercooked, which is funny, because the description in the menu says “crispy”.
Our server was phenomenal - her upbeat personality made my 9 year old daughter’s day.
It was excellent
Perfect Valentine’s Dinner Spot!
Amazing French fries. Great waiters and staff
Service and ambiance were fabulous. It's a very welcoming environment. But the food is, well, on par with Applebees. So at some point there needs to be food fix here. It's edible, and fine to eat, but not worth the 3x prices for what was essentially $18 spaghetti and red sauce or $16 for a Cobb salad. Come on, people.
Great place for dinner before AMP! High energy and a bit on the noisy side, but festive, fresh atmosphere and great food!
I would recommend but be careful of when you go. We had to wait almost 30 minutes for a 1 pm reservation on a Sunday. Lots of people lounging around....which should happen on a Sunday afternoon...I wish they would factor that into the reservation process. Great atmosphere, decent food. Pricey.
If there were a 3rd choice of maybe I would select that. I like the atmosphere and food was ok. If I were in the area, maybe give it another try. Not sure if I'd go as far to recommend it. Founding Fathers is much better, food and service.
I made a reservation for 11:30am, but didn't get seated until 12pm. I went to the host area and they said they were running a few minutes behind. After 15 minutes, I had to ask again. We finally got seated, drinks took awhile to get. I ordered a side of bacon, but didn't come with the other dishes and had to ask for. There is only one ladies room for 2 restaurants and was very awkward to get to since you can't get there without going near the front door.
I thought there were people waiting in line in the bakery section since they were standing right in front. I looked over at someone working in that section who didn't even bother to acknowledge me and could have said, we'll be with you in a minute. It seems like it would be obvious they weren't ordering from the bakery from the staff's perspective. When I realized the people weren't in line, I finally ordered. There was some problem with the register so that took another 5 minutes. At least this other woman was pleasant and apologized for the delay. They were busy and clearly understaffed.
Reservations don't mean anything - we reserved an 11:30 time for brunch but weren't offered a table until 12:15
Waitress was terrible. Never checked on us. Had to ask for our drink and took so long for check. Poor waitress.
Another great meal with fantastic service from Phil and his team.
Summer House never disappoints!!
The restaurant is super cute and the service is great. Old wine selection. We tried several appetizers. Most were very good, but the tuna on a fried rice patty was a bit strange.
