Sugar Factory - Rosemont
Sugar Factory’s culture is a celebrated concept of food and drink menus that include perfectly executed classics, from eggs benedict and burgers to housemade flatbreads, savory steaks and pastas. Our more unique selections include Banana Split Crepes, Rocky Road Fondue and Red Velvet Pancakes. Sugar Factory also found a way to spike your favorite drinks by offering signature smoking candy goblets, and specialty martinis and cocktails, such as the Cotton Candy Cosmopolitan or Cherry Tootsie Pop. Creative candy inspired milkshakes and the famous King Kong Sundae round out Sugar Factory’s inspired menu.
Host forgot about us. We waited over a half an hour until I asked about how much longer it would be. They seated us immediately thereafter and didn’t apologize.
They also said we were a no show on open table.
Not a way to be greeted. Fairly disappointing.
This restaurant is a fun atmosphere with great outdoor seating! The food is pricey, but tastes great! (entrees, desserts, and drinks).
Enjoyed dinner with my wife and another couple. First time at this restaurant. Food was excellent. Prices were moderate. Very loud at times based on ceremony around the serving of certain special desserts. Will definitely come back again.
We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation and were promptly seated (at the place of our choice). Our waiter, Edgar, was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was well prepared and when the kitchen made a mistake on a substitution our waiter took care of the correction, when the new food arrived (it had the substitution and was piping hot). The portions are huge and 3 of us split an old fashioned milkshake. This is a fun place to be with good food. My tip is to skip the $10 valet and have your parking validated. Outside of the restaurant is a vibrant scene with events or open play in the grassy courtyard.
I would recommend the sugar factory for their fun drinks but that's about it. The service was par for the prices. We were not given appetizer plates with our appetizer and when requested we did not receive them until dinner. We received our drinks the same time as our food and we went at 5pm and it was not busy. Also, the tables are so tiny to fit the large plates and drinks for a table of 4. We tried to move to a bigger table but this was not available per staff. The food was decent and the drinks were amazing. I would say to only come for drinks and desserts and just make sure you aren't thirsty for your arrival because you wait a very long time for the drinks.
Sugar Factory has a very fun atmosphere and creative and tasty drinks. The food quality was not anything special. I feel as though the prices were high. Our server did a good job 👍🏽 Overall just go there for fun drinks and skip out on the dining.
My daughters “sweet” 16 birthday celebration with a couple of her friends.
Not worth it. Way over priced, everyone makes it seems like this is nice place, just overpriced. Nothing special.
Do not come here !!! Horrible service . Food was cold and manager was rude and dishonest. Over priced and terrible customer service .
Service on a Wednesday night was awful for my daughters birthday. Had to wait over 15 minutes for water.
We loved it! It was everything we expected it to be. My daughter enjoyed her birthday dinner there.
Sugar factory has the best drinks in the world great food and great customer servers
This turned out to be a horrible dinner. First, the waiter and others are rude. Our waiter was rude from the first question that I asked, which was, "Do you have a kids menu"? His answer in a sarcastic manner was, "No, it's called an appetizer". Then I asked how much the featured drinks were without alcohol and he told me $26. Which, I find quite ridiculous. Therefore, we ordered cokes and lemonade. All of the drinks were brought to us hot and no glasses with ice. It took him almost 30 minutes to bring us our drinks. When we got over the shock that our $3 coke was a small little bottle, we realized that they weren't even chilled. Our food came and someone else brought it and we asked if we could get ice and his comment was, "you ask your waiter for that". It took our waiter another 20 minutes to get to our table. This was one of the worse restaurants I have ever been too. Frankly, I was getting annoyed by seeing only wealthy celebrities on the screens drinking the $35 drinks. Normal people do not spend $35 on a drink and they do not spend $26 on them for their kids. The prices in the candy store are celebrity priced also. This was a belated birthday dinner to myself. I took my younger son, his girlfriend and my grandson. When we were done, we wished we didn't drive an hour and just went to a "normal" bar and grill by our house. I am guess people who order the $3 drinks are considered throw away guests and bills will be smaller so the waiters get less of a tip so why be nice to them. Our waiter visited tables around us over and over again. They kept refilling their $35 drinks.
Awesome Drinks , Awesome Food , And Great Atmosphere.....
Nothing special to rave about. Food average. Service good.
The menu alone was an experience! The number of items were far greater than I expected; I will purposely go back to this restaurant again!
It was fun being there. I’ve been there multiple times but this time I had a terrible waitress! She wasn’t attentive or even smiling. She was rushing and rude.
Great experience. Visiting Chicago and this was my 1st time going and it was fun. Good food and good drinks
Worst service. Sat with 1/2 our food for 15 minutes with no silverware. We asked three times for silverware, never got it. Asked for a manager, they never came.
Seems like waiter didn’t care and it was very disappointing. Would have like to eat my $150 overpriced meal hot.
I have to say the noise was almost unbearable, that would be the only reason I would not return.
Pretty expensive place. But it was nice for my daughters birthday. Definitely not an everyday place.
The music was so loud i could hardly hear my wife sitting across from me.(we are in our 20's) . Probly to mask the loud screaming and yelling comming from the african american family we were seated right next to. Manager should have asked them to keep it down. Food was cold and the drinks were tiny and only got 1...the space between tables was so small that the other tables kids had to brush against me in order to squeeze through to continue sprinting around the restaurant. I heard so many good things about this place. It reminded me of a shittier chuck e cheese.
Personally I think the Sugar Factory is 1000 times over priced. I get it the drinks are beautiful and all but really...it’s almost all ICE! I can’t believe they stay in business. My guess is it’s mostly first timers who go there. I have 4 children so for 6 of us it was $220! Only 3 got a milkshake the rest was pancakes, French toast, chicken, chicken tenders, pasta and a burger! Not to mention they added 20% because there was 6 of us even though 4 were kids. Then the waitress never showed up, why would she since she already knew she was guaranteed her tip! Soooooo frustrating!
The service was not that good
Every child would love to visit Sugar Factory.
Try a shake or have a yummy goblet.
The food wasn’t great - overpriced for quality
Slow wait time for server, had to ask for water several times. Paid for the gauntlet drink - too sweet and sour plus server was unenthusiastic and had to wait for drink after bringing the glass.
Would not return for food, deserts maybe
The ambiance is fun for the kids but the food is absolutely terrible. Almost inedible. We ordered the rainbow sliders, chopped salad, a cheeseburger and the steak and lobster. Everything was really gross (the chopped salad especially) the steak and lobster was at least edible. At this price point they need to do better. I've never had a worse meal.
Food was good. Desserts looked great but tasted just ok. Overpriced.
Great first experience, food is plentiful and good, service was on point, fun atmosphere! Look forward to going again!
definetly over priced for the quality of food service was horrible and the 20% service charge is a joke
Be prepared for lots of celebration and noise if going on a weekend. Many birthday and bachelorette groups adding to the sound of the overly loud speakers. Difficult to enter/exit due to the self area right next to the revolving door. Food is overpriced; tasty but nothing to rave about. They specialize in Fishbowl drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) with dry ice and over the top milkshakes and shareable desserts. Good for dessert and/or celebration but not the place if you want to have a conversation.
They were so incredibly busy. Our waiter never came back to the table. We asked for drinks and he never brought them. Then when we asked for the check and boxes and he didn't come back for over 20 minutes.
Arrived on time for a 5:30 reservation. Two of the three hostesses were very rude. We were finally seated after 6:00, after following up with hostesses. (The one friendly hostess helped us out.) Waiter was attentive and friendly. Food was good and came super quick- which made up for the long wait. Loved my raspberry watermelon mojito! Fun experience for kids.
It was an amazing time. We went as a family of 10 for my birthday and the celebration was amazing. The only thing is, be prepared for a large bill at the end. For 10 of us it was $750.
The drinking water tastes like pool water. Food is expensive and not that good. Server was ok but kept disappearing for long periods of time. I put in my reservation notes that it was my daughter’s birthday but it was ignored.
With a large party where gratuity is already included in the bill, we all felt like the service should have been much better; but since the waiter already was getting his tip regardless, we were totally ignored. He refused to break up the bill even though we were told we could split it up three ways before our meal. Incredibly frustrating. The food was very good, but a bit on the pricy side, but we know we are paying for the atmosphere at a place like this. No one in our party was interested in ever returning there based on the service we experienced, which is unfortunate because it is a fun restaurant.
So delicious and I loved the martini. The pasta was also delicious.
Food was awful, terrible menu items generally but also made poorly.
Would not reccomend shop afterwards price out of site. Smallest container (tub) they had and 7 small hi chews 47 dollars.
Was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, more so the restroom area. Definitely prefer the River North location.
