SUCCOTASH is named after the classic dish that has been a longstanding staple of the Southern table. While many know “Succotash” when they see it, the dish has been interpreted, modified and passed from generation to generation for centuries. While Succotash between families will share similarities, each family’s recipe is deeply personal and reminiscent of those special suppers that brings kin together. Our “Succotash” is special to us and we invite you to experience the South from our point of view.

My boyfriend and I had the BBQ Beyond Burger with Fries and it was AMAZING! Very tasty and filling! I would like to suggest that they offer Gluten Free buns for burgers. Our drinks were really good also. I had the mocktail ginger peach drink that was VERY good! We can't wait to go back to Succotash - National Harbor!

The food was not good and not worth the price. The table we were assigned was broken and very unstable. The staff seemed to be aware of the broken table but didn’t try to fix it or move us to another table.

The lighting was too low. We couldn't read the menu without the flashlight on our cell phones. The service, food, and drinks were AMAZING! This was the first time I've had dinner here and it did not disappoint. I knew the brunch was great, and the dinner was just as great.

Interesting menu, but could use a little more detail on what's in each dish. Hush puppies had a distinctive clove taste, which is NOT what true Southern hush puppies taste like. My market salad was fresh, but had mostly lettuce with a few slices of apples and butternut squash. My companion's Caesar salad was more traditional. The barbecue pork dish was hearty and tasty, but my companion's beef short ribs dish was VERY spicy. Again, not really a Southern dish - according to this reviewer who was born and raised in the south. So - average on the food. BUT - our server, Asia, was delightful - personable, attentive, and efficient. So - excellent on the service. Perhaps we should have asked more questions about the food, so we wouldn't have been as surprised by the unusual flavors.

The food was just “ok”. I ordered the catfish, Mac and cheese and seasonal vegetables. They were out of brussel sprouts so they substituted with zucchini. The zucchini wasn’t seasoned well. It was actually floating in water and all the seasoning. I sent it back. The Mac and cheese and catfish were good but a tad salty. The drinks were good.

The chicken sandwich was really dry and hard to consumed without the mayonnaise as a condiment. I wish there was an alternative instead of mayonnaise. For the chicken and waffles, the chicken was a bit burnt and a bit hard to consume.

The fried pickles were so thin that they tasted like I was eating thin batter chips. The collard greens were good but were missing a bit of flavor, and the bacon was just thick strips of fat.

Overall a good experience but the chicken sandwich had the breast bone in place down the middle of the chicken breast. I’ve never had a chicken sandwich with bones so it was a new experience.

Smoked chicken wings, green tomato salad and oysters for appetizers. The dressing on the tomato salad scrumptious. Burger, salmon and chicken and waffles for dinner. Burger and chicken ok but not the best ever. Salmon was tasty. Peach cobbler and bourbon chocolate pecan pie; the latter excessively sweet and peach cobbler delicious. Began with good cocktails a way south margarita (peppery good) and a belle punch just as good. Did not like that entrees arrived when appetizers still being eaten and check brought without asking if we wanted dessert.

The dining area was nice with excellent decor. Looked a little like you might find in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Food was good. We both had shrimp and grits—we expected more spices. Dining area was loud and a little too dim. Overall it was pretty good for the money. I’ll go back.
