Vibey NYC ambience, seamless service and damn delicious food. There is nothing not to like about this place.
We came for the 24-layer chocolate cake and it did not disappoint! Yum. I looked around and thought the place looked familiar--it was once Asti, an Italian restaurant with opera-singing waiters and the decor has not changed.. The walls are covered with framed photos of opera stars and scantillyclad starlets. Worth avisit just to see the inside! I look forward to going back for dinner.
Awesome experience. Had the filet and mac & cheese. Romantic atmosphere and cozy.
Had the pleasure of dining here for valentines day and it was absolutely an amazing night. The ambiance inside is romantic with candles lit at every table and red paint throughout kind of gave it a boudoir feel. We both had the 14oz rib eye which in my opinion, was much better than del Frisco's. We also had the mac and cheese ( oh so creamy and cheesy) and the creamed spinach which also had a.good flavor to it. We wanted to try the chocolate cake but was too full unfortunately lol. Me and my husband will definetly be returning. Being new Yorkers all our lives I cant believe I didnt know about this place but I'm glad we know now. Dont hesitate you wont be disappointed
Awesome place the food was exquisite the service was great an eclectic arrange of music it is a little pricey but worth it the 34 layer chocolate cake is huge 1 slice can easily be shared by 3 people highly recommend the little neck clams casino appetizer. Was not rushed to eat spent a good 2 hours eating and conversing.
It is not the same place that we recall. This was our 7th or 8th return. Our last trip was also lackluster but thought it may have been an off-day. Not so sure now.
Solid steak house, good portion size for the price.
We went In With very high expectations as friends of ours had dined here; went at 6 pm on a rainy Monday; wanted to put us at a crowded 2 top at an empty restaurant; manager did put us at a lovely 4 top; waiter came over ; not pleasant; 2 wines we picked were unavailable—- cakebread Chardonnay... what??? A Piedmont Italian wine ??? What????
They offered a 2018 White for 130$.... we said no
Came back with a 2016 .... retails for 220$ I will give you for 135$.... we offered to leave all of the sudden they gave it to us for 115 BUT IT WAS WARM...... ok very off putting
Food was fine; steak was cooked nicely to our liking... veggies and potatoes were fine... we tipped 10% we have never done that... platinum card holders all about being charitable... not tonight... go to the old timers like sparks or Lugers
Bacon appetizer was super yummy! The filet was amazingggggg as well as the two sides we got (Brussels sprouts & twice baked potatoes ) also the truffle martini I would go back just for that
The rib eye steak was fair at best. Based on the prices, the food should have been a lot better.
Nice speakeasy lounge feel that’s very different from a typical steakhouse. Diverse cocktail list, amazing side dishes, and decent steak.
Wonderful experience. Great food. Great ambiance and fantastic service! Thank you Sammy!
Service was impeccable and meat was delicious but sides need some work and the wine list is not coherent.
Excellent experience love this place!
the striphouse was great, the prices are sky high, this prevents me from becoming a frequent flyer.
I have been going to this restaurant for more than 15 years. It’s always been a class act with some of the best steak in Manhattan. However, it’s now owned by the same restaurant group as Bubba Gump (not kidding). They try to sell you a loyalty program with your check. Yikes, no thanks.
My only complaint is- I have Landry’s select membership which I had never really used before. I didn’t have the card with me so the server said he could look it up with my number. We had been waiting a while to pay and we paid with cash and did not need any change. In the car on the way home, strip house called to say that I had a $25 reward that I could defer since we already left. When I logged in to the Landry’s account I saw that the server applied the $25 discount and seemingly pocketed the extra (we were already very generous with our tip) for himself. Pretty sneaky and dishonest if you ask me and for that I’m in no hurry to dine here again.
Good food, but the tables are too close together and the waiter made a point of letting us know that we were dining upstairs instead of the speakeasy where we would normally be (as if we should be grateful they were allowing couponers upstairs).
Excellent as always
Loved everything about this restaurant. Went with a group of 5 and shared the sides. All of the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend to any steak lovers. It is pricey, but is worth the money
Always enjoy the Strip House. One of our favorites in NYC.
The music was entirely too loud, causing everyone to speak louder in order to be hear above the music. The 8-10 pm Saturday night music was disco, followed by a mix of pop and soul. When you go to a restaurant, you want the food to take center stage, not the distracting music. I don’t think the staff understands the concept of “background” music.
I’ve dined here before and don’t recall it being this obnoxiously loud. Definitely took away from an otherwise good meal. Steak was too heavily salted.
This is the 2nd time we’ve eaten here. One of my favorite steakhouse’s in the city. Interior is fun and the food is great. Last time we sat at a table and the service was perfect. This time we sat at the bar and it wasn’t as good. The bartender was nice but the service could have been much better. Things were overlooked and it totally fell apart at the end. Regardless, I would still recommend this place.
Not terrible, not great. Average. The music was on insanely loud in the "we want to shove you out the door as quickly as possible" way.
Exceeded our expectations! We tried this place last year for our annual work trip and for the last 12 months my guys would not stop talking about it so we gave it another shot this year. Somehow it got even better. The appetizers were delicious, the steaks were all amazing. Two of my employees said it was the best meal they have ever eaten in their entire lives.
The food was very good but the drinks were over priced and not very good. When I complained about the size of the house old fashioned I was told that they use a “ measured pour” as if that were a benefit to the customer. For what should be a first class New York steak house it felt like I was ordering from Friday’s. It really diminished the experience While limits on the alcohol. May be good for the restaurant bottom line it comes off as stingy and second rate.
Excellent service, great food!
Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, respectful staff and very responsive. Place is an absolute gem...
Delicious steakhouse, but quite expensive.
Outstanding dining experience.
Great steaks! This is the second time I've been to this restaurant, as I keep coming back for the char on the steaks. This is a slightly different way of making the steak as compared to Keens/Luger/Quality Meat. It's a unique style where they char the pepper on the steak in a way that I can't describe visually...but it tastes amazing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was for the cocktails. For some constructive criticism, my guest and I weren't impressed with the selection overall, and would like that to be an improvement area going forward. Nonetheless, we are glad we went there and will definitely be back more times this year. Overall, this is one of my favorite places to get a steak in NYC for quality, value, ambiance, and experience!
Clams were off.
Steak is way too peppery - way different from the Strip House of the past. Sides were not good.
Pass for me.
Excellent starters and outstanding quality of meat
My husband and I were very disappointed with our meal. At first the steaks came raw even though we ordered medium rare plus. They took them back to cook it more and the steaks got overcooked. The waiter was trying to persuade us to keep the steak. I apologized and said no because it was an expensive place and I didn't want to settle. They brought us two new steaks and we couldn't eat them because they were covered in pepper. I was too embarrassed to tell the waiter after what happened with the cook of the steak. My husband and I ate some and left hungry and disappointed. The waiter saw that we didn't touch one of the sides. He didn't bother asking what was wrong with it or if wewanted it to go. Overall not a good experience.
I loved this place for the most part. The service was excellent. It was my birthday. They gave us some much appreciated freebies. I didn’t love all the food. But the steak was great and the gratin potatoes were great. I didn’t like the Brussel sprouts. Too sweet. I also didn’t like the Caesar salad. One thing that really annoyed me was the music. Though I liked the songs, they simply didn’t fit the mood or ambience of the place. I was expected rat pack songs. Some Sinatra. Billie Holiday. Etc. Standards. Classics. As that’s the look of the place. What they played was too poppy. Michael Jackson. Too uppity. It just didn’t fit the visual vibe.
Aaron was an excellent and friendly server.
Food was wonderful and a great NYC spot. But the staff hovered the whole time we were there and watched us eat which felt uncomfortable.
The Filet Steak was fantastic and the Brown Butter was fanamonous.
Absolutely terrible experience. The review I wrote was too long for this forum, however I will be posting it elsewhere. Feel free to contact me for an honest interaction with our party of 3.
My favorite NYC steakhouse, everything was delicious and everyone enjoyed thier meal and the intimate classic atmosphere.
