About this restaurant

  • Neighbourhood gem
  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for groups
Stoneburner sits on the ground floor of Hotel Ballard alongside Ballard Avenue, where longtime Seattle chef and owner Jason Stoneburner cooks with the confidence of 20+ years in the region’s kitchens. His food blends the bounty of the Northwest — wood-fired meats, seasonal vegetables, and handmade pastas served without pretense. Inside, the restaurant feels both worldly and lived-in, with salvaged wood, antique fixtures, and a cozy, layered design. On warmer days, massive front windows slide open to Ballard Avenue, filling the space with light and breeze. It’s the kind of place that welcomes you in—whether you're gathering with friends, celebrating something big, or just stopping by for a great plate of food.

The location and the interior of the restaurant were nice. The rigatoni I ordered was underwhelming, some undercooked pasta and a bit of sauce for $28 is ridiculous. The angnolotti my parter ordered was delicious, as were the salad and drinks. We also ordered a second drink when our food came and didn't get it for 10-15 minutes, after they had already cleared our plates and we were ready to go! I was still pretty hungry when we left so we went down the street and got some pizza :/ I'll pay good money for good food but this place feels very overpriced.

We loved the food but the noise level prevented us from having a normal conversation. It was very challenging. Next time we will try to sit in a different part of the restaurant.

Great food, a bit overpriced. Very poor service this time around. Waitress was unfriendly, completely disinterested and didn’t put in our last drink orders when it was very slow. She’s in the wrong line of work.
