We loved coming to the restaurant and have been visiting often for years. We have been to the Bloomsbury one about 6 times and the Warren Street one about 8 times.
We were disappointed with the menu change and the new pricing system. The portions were smaller and only had a choice of chips or salad, with no refills as before. The lobster felt smaller and was more expensive.
We will probably go elsewhere now, which is a shame as it was our favourite restaurant. We just don't feel that it is good value for money anymore.
Very Nice wasn’t my first time there , will be going back , the food was fresh and was very delicious .
Booked for my boyfriends birthday, wonderful food and great service! Made the evening very special!
Steak was great. But the lobster in the surf n turf was very small.
I have been to this restaurant a few times and everytime ive gone ive left feeling fully satisfied. Unfortunately this time i wasn't totally impressed they no longer do unlimited fries and salad you have to choose between the two, the fries was a very small portion and the steak my partner had was very tiny after we left we was still hungry. Food was tasty though but having to end up in McDonald's after didn't seem the point of spending the money here.
Had a fantastic meal the steak was cooked perfectly and when the tools came to to crack the lobster we just thought o no hope I can do this lol..but the waitress asked us straight away if we wanted her to do it for us, we did do it but it made us feel at ease that she asked us..she was very friendly and helpful..the lobster rolls were very tasty, a party in my mouth ..now anyone that knows me knows I'm a bit of a cheesecake connoisseur, and try every cheesecake everywhere, all over the world and I have only found 3 that have been perfect!! I had 1 at no1 and 2 no 2 and not found any more than that worthy outing in my top 5, until now...i had the key lime cheesecake and it is now no3 in my top 5....its definitely a must try so save some pudding space when you visit here
The service was impeccable. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was also fantastic - definitely deserving of a five star review!
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Steak and Lobster Warren Street last Friday night and overall we had a great night. But I would also like to make some constructive comments as I believe certain little things could be improved. Firstly on a positive note when I initially made the booking and requested a table near the front as we were celebrating our anniversary I was very pleased when we were given a choice of tables right at the front. So thumbs up for that. And our waiter was very pleasant and professional and introduced himself straight away which I thought was very good. Regarding the food we both ordered the 1 lb lobster and while I would say it was slightly on the small side it tasted great. What I would add is I think it would really add to the dish to have a butter or perhaps garlic dip on the side. Also being lobster by the end our hands were both completely covered in juice which is a good thing but I think all customers should be provided with hot water to clean your hands rather than us having to request it. Lastly for dessert the cheese cake tastes great. My only little gripe is when I order for the dessert and coffee to come at the same time that's what I expect rather than being told the coffee order is delayed and then having to wait around minutes after we have both finished dessert for coffee to arrive. So thumbs down for that. On the plus side it was a very nice surprise to be provided with complimentary desserts. So overall a very pleasant evening and despite the little things I would certainly recommend it to others.
Thé service was amazing all of the staff we’re very nice the only thing I hated was the men on an table in front of us who kept staring at me and my friends and laughing, it made us uncomfortable so we left early. But the food was okay the chips were very delicious but the lobster could use more seasoning. But overall great the lobster size is worth 24 pound the only thing is that it needs more seasoning
Had a reservation still had to wait over an hour after the time we arrived. Ordered a desert after the food and waited over an hour for that again because they forgot to put the order in
Booked at 22h. 1h waiting for our table.
Lobster without flavour.
Seated 40 minutes late and offered no form of compliments or discounted bill to apologise.
Arrived on time but made to wait 25 minutes. Would have been nice if we could have ordered a drink while we’re sat in reception but nothing offered.
The wait was especially grating as we had to pay a £50 deposit to secure a table for New Years with only a 15 minute grace period before our deposit would be seized.
Ambience is terrible. We joked it felt like an airport hotel until we realised the restaurant is actually located in the ground floor of a Raddison.
Service was slow, unapologetic and the menu was not as promised for New Years on the OpenTable app. Food was small pricy.
Overall a poor experience. Nothing outright terrible, but absolutely no highlights either.
The NYE menu was great, we really enjoyed it and the food was perfectly cooked. My pregnant wife was reluctant to eat cheese cake from the set menu however the manager Aymeric went out of his way and bought out a fruit platter for her. He was fantastic and very courteous. It started getting very busy however Aymeric took his time to speak to us to ensure everything was okay. The whole restaurant was very well run and staff were friendly. We have been going to the branch which was formerly at Bloomsbury every NYE for the last 7 years. The restaurant at Warren Street was very friendly and overall a positive improvement to the brand.
Christmas dinner was wonderful
We went for the Christmas Day meal and they made sure our experience went well.
Food was amazing, restaurant was amazing but service poor...
Service was good and so was the atmosphere. Food was poor - I ordered the Mac and cheese lobster and there was literally 2 pieces of lobster in the dish, very small pieces.
It’s was my friends birthday and we thought to enjoy it having a meal
Actually it was really great. The service was amazing from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The food was really good. The atmosphere was calm and honestly felt really nice. I would definitely recommend. *We were there very early on the day so that might have contributed to the calm atmosphere but nevertheless a great experience.
Great lunch at Warren Street steak and lobster.
Sissy and team were lovely and the food and drinks were brilliant.
We are from the States was very satisfied with the experience from start to finish. Two of us had the 1lb lobster, one had lobster fettuccine Alfredo and the fourth had a steak. We even shared a dessert afterwards.
Nowhere near as good as Burger and Lobster and massively overpriced.
Great food and lovely setting, would be nice to have information as to how to get through to the main restaurant from the bar area at the entrance
What a disappointment !
As lovers of steak and lobster we had been looking forward to our meal in this restaurant, but it was a disappointment from start to finish.
At the restaurant reception the girl could not have been less interested in us, asking us to wait while she filled in what seemed like reams of paperwork, before enquiring why we were there then putting us at a table in the bar area to wait. Just wait, no attempt was made to see if we wanted a drinks order. After a while the girl came back and we were shown to a table in the restaurant proper. Eventually a waiter appeared with a menu. He took the order and brought water fairly quickly, but the drinks we'd ordered came v late (quite a time after the food, and after we had asked where they were) as did a vegetable side dish. Plus a special request for a change in the main dish (leaving off a glaze) was forgotten. The restaurant was ambiance-free and fairly noisy, although possibly it would be OK for a night out if you've had a fair few pre-drinks.
Poor service. Menu has changed, food is overpriced and overrated.
Me and my partner attended this restaurant what we thought you’d be a nice night turned out to be one of our worst restaurant experience.
The service was absolutely terrible we both order our drinks (cocktails) & food (surf N Turf) it was very cold. However despite being finished no one attended us for over 30mins we was sitting at the table waiting. We then had to call out to a waiter and request dessert menu when this was finally given to us we was then left a further 45mins no one attend us to ask for our order other customers we we walked in with around us already ordered and left at this point. It wasn’t until the table beside us was very annoyed with the service they had to call for the manager from which we expressed our concerns also, the manger at the time did very little to solve the situation.
Following this we asked for the bill the manger then said they would give a 10% discount and bring the bill to us.
We then had to wait a further 20mins for this to happen until i had to call out again that we need to leave before any bill was presented, we was handed the wrong bill from which we then called to see the manger again.
My partner and I was extremely disappointed with this service and have never experienced nothing like this before a discount of 10% is an absolutely joke for what we been through and we are going to take matters much further.
This is completely unacceptable the problem here is from management down all was a compete disappointment. My partner runs a series of restaurants we are fully aware how service should be articulated.
starter and main supposed to arrive together but starter arrived 45 mins after ordered and after main was finished. Main took 30 mins and we were the only two people in there. lobster was completely over cooked. not good value for money. would not recommend.
Food is lovely but the portion size of the fries is ridiculously small considering they are no longer unlimited.
Staff are slow we had to call the waiter over for everything to order drinks, food etc. We wasn't asked once if our food was ok and if we wanted anything.
Delicious food poor service
Charlotte was very attentive and polite explaining and recommending items on the menu. The Flat iron steak and paprika fries was better then I thought - being a fussy eater ( a lot of steak for me to manage).
The Mason dessert was nice but nothing special and the Irish coffee was cold but was exchanged for warm ones when we complained.
Overall good to go for a special occasion.
service was rubbish, price was unreasonably high, food was cold and staff had attitude when i tried to address.
Awful service and as a restaurant has really gone downhill. It’s obvious the management has changed. This used to be an awesome place but not anymore.
Waste of money completely. Waited over an hour for our table that we booked in advance, then wasn’t given a menus for or drinks, food took ages to come out and was poor quality. Service was bad throughout and the service charge they expected was way too high. Do not recommend.
Food took ages and was luke warm when it arrived. I also requested a medium rare steak which was served to me at least medium if not well done. Restaurant wasn’t busy so overall disappointing.
The fillet steak was dry, I’ve had better lobster and the ambiance in the back restaurant wasn’t great at all. All brightly lit. Wish I had gone elsewhere for my birthday
I was majorly disappointed with the surf and turf as you literally get a tiny bit of lobster within the claw and that is IT! The half a body that sits on the plate is literally just empty shell? Considering you pay a lot more than if you was to just have the steak on its own, I found this really disappointing. The lobster mac&cheese was to die for but you have to buy it as a main (£18) as they don’t do it as a side...
Half of the waiters looked miserable (girl with the short short haircut clearly hates her job) - luckily we had a nice young English girl as our waitress who was funny and attentive. The restaurant itself is really really light, I prefer more of a cozy darker atmosphere when I’m eating out for dinner but this seemed a bit like a conference hall. Everything was clean and well kept however. Overall it was okay, I wouldn’t feel the need to return though.
Setting is nice, in the hotel, but service was not good, we waiting 45 min for our food when the restaurant was empty. My lobster was cold. The lobster roll my friend had wasn’t filling at all. Mac and cheese was good however. And it’s a bit dead atmosphere wise.
A complete disgrace and should close down
The whole evening was dire. Two of us were seated awaiting our friend . Service was poor from then on. Water arrived quickly. A cocktail arrived only with ,the wrong, starter. One dish arrived with two items missing and was returned. Lobster fettuccine would benefit from more lobster and pasta and being served in a sauce not a bowl of cream soup. Service was all over the place with some basic lack of decorum. A chocolate, fudge etc dessert was abandoned by us being a huge pile of disparate lumps of poor quality products. Honeycombs tasted of the bicarbonate used to make it. All this and expensive to boot. Never again.
It was very disappointing the food was not up to scratch the staff were very rude and dismissive i used to really love this restaurant and will not be coming back here. . My son was so upset
