Steam Plant Kitchen & Brewery
I took my mother and father here for their birthday. All around amazing! We had an appetizer and entrees, all of which was delicious. The atmosphere is very cool and worth taking a look at before or after your meal. Oh! And the service was outstanding!
Went to have a birthday lunch, first time there. It was a really neat place, the ambience alone is worth having a bite once. We had a cocktail and the kids had a soda with some fun huckleberry syrup in it. The food came out at a good pace and everything was pretty tasty, you can tell they're making stuff from scratch. The service was probably the only thing that was a bit under whelming.
Good service. Drinks were great. Our reservation was honored quickly and our table was great. Loved the ambiance of the Steam Plant. Cesaer salad was good but no croutons. Patty melt was great, bread was grilled just right. Pizza was good also. I'd come back. It's a unique environment that makes me proud of Spokane.
The food was of good quality and was good, but felt like it missed the mark for full flavor. The lemonade was too sweet and not fresh tasting as I'd expect. Service was really friendly and didn't feel like things took too long.
Over priced & over rated
Very cool building and remodel. Worth it just to see the retrofitting! Staff was friendly and efficient. Nice energy level without being too loud. Food was good although with a party of 5 some dishes were a hit and others a miss. Definitely recommend it to others for a fun night out.
Two times in the last six months we have eaten here and have enjoyed the experience.
For our anniversary dinner, we chose this of all the other to have good food in a great place.
Love the decor of this place.
Fun spot to go with large groups. Their pizza was very good-
The menu had a nice variety.
We took our kids and their friends their after Hoopfest.
Will definitely go back again!!!!
Great pub atmosphere!!!
This is definitely a fun place to dine. The food was incredible!
Great experience. We took family visiting from out of state and they loved it. Such a cool and unique atmosphere.
Atmosphere is cool and the use of the old steam equipment incorporated in the decor was cool. Food was average as was service. Had to look up history of building on my phone and expected to see info more available. Was a great one time but not sure I would choose it again.
I thought the ambiance was great. Nothing like that building!
Better water would be my preference, filtered would be great.
The food is great! A little something for everyone! Plus dessert! Then you can get your after dinner walk in exploring the rest of the steam plant. Have only been twice as we don't live in Spokane, but we make it a priority stop when we visit.
The atmosphere and uniqueness of the place is really what made me love it. For such a great meal the food was surprisingly affordable. You can show up and order a full meal and not spend over 40 bucks. Also there is plenty of building to explore after your meal. Couldn't recommend more! Thanks for making my girlfriends birthday special!
My boyfriend and I were in town for the weekend, celebrated his birthday at the Steam Plant. Loved the food and environment.
We enjoyed a long dinner with friends! Waitress was cheerful and attentive. Best of all my meal was delicious!
Beef was very dry. We all 4 had bad gas later. The ombiance was terrific but disappointed in the smoked beef.
Amazing atmosphere and really good food. Service was friendly and attentive.
The service was phenomenal and the chocolate cake is to die for!!
Service was excellent! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food! Will definitely come back!
We ordered the brisket and it was so dry and over cooked it looked like a roast. My husband and I wanted to try a new restaurant for our 10 year anniversary and was very disappointed in the food.
The food was phenomenal and somehow the service was even better! We enjoy Steam Plant but rarely go (we tend to stay on the South Hill) but I saw their Strawberry Sour beer on Instagram and my husband and I went the next day. The strawberry sour was amazing! I’ll be going back just to buy a growler of it!
We were delighted to find this most unusual and exceptional place. The setting is incredible- inside of an old steam plant that has been re-envisioned with multiple seating areas, many cozy booths so that one doesn't feel at sea in the large space, and some really attractive large group areas. Strikes me as the perfect place for a shower, or wedding party, or after work group to sit together in this really wonderful space. But also just for a twosome or foursome.
About the food: my husband and I shared a mushroom with prosciutto pizza and a salad of a little gem lettuce with cheese, apple, avocado, and pickled onion. This was the perfect amount with two slices of pizza leftover for lunch. The beer was very good so says my husband. And I ordered white wine by the glass.
About the service... the waiters/order takers were a little clueless.. passing by people with their menus set aside and ready to order. We had to assertively flag our waiter down. They did not seem overworked, it wasn't all that busy. Instead, they seemed somewhat inattentive or unfocussed. Those who brought the meal, primarily women, were efficient, professional, and no nonsense. Room for improvement as they say ;-)
Our dinner was excellent, and the drink choices numerous. The jalapeno ale was absolutely delicious. I don't think our server was happy to work that day. But overall, great location--fun place to eat.
They have an interesting selection of pizzas but they all leave something to be desired.
Went for my son’s bday. We were visiting from another state.
Great historical space with a steam-punk vibe. The food portions are large, inventive and delicious. I had the blackened halibut sandwich, which was perfectly cooked, well-spiced with interesting toppings, and presented on an incredible fresh-baked brioche roll. Scrumptious!
We had an amazing first experience at The Steam Plant this past weekend. Our server went above and beyond for us. We ordered the Melt, The Codfather, as well as I the fish and Chips. Taste was PHENOMENAL! Due to a very busy kitchen, the manager gave us a complimentary dessert (the raspberry short stack), which capped off an incredible meal. We are new to Spokane and already we know this is going to be a part of our favourite restaurant rotations. The atmosphere was intriguing and inviting, the layout is like stepping into a time machine with a modern twist. Staff was so friendly too. Thank you Steam Plant!
Wonderful food and service in a unique Spokane historic building.
Dinner before the Thomas Rhett concert with family
Everything was good except for the chicken wings; they’re we’re not hot (temperature) when it was served to us.
Very overpriced for what we got. There was no bread or rolls with the salad. Our entree and salad were brought at the same time. The croutons in the Caesar salad were stale cornbread. We had eaten there once before but probably will not go back.
Unique setting with good food and beer.
Servers are friendly and knowledgable about the menu
The setting, the former city center steam heat plant, makes a nice casual spot for dining. High school Prom season and the accompanying groups of tuxed and suited dudes and gowned and high heeled gals lent continueing entertainment. Smoked steelhead buccatini and Caesar salad with chicken delicious and well presented and service quick & professional, but friendly. Great place for a quick meal prior to a concert at the Fox.
Excellent! Our waiter even rushed our order, so we could get back to our meeting on time.
the service was slow it took over 25 mins to get our food and our water was never refilled till after our meal, and the waitress never checked in on us, only once 5 seconds after we received our food
Cod Fish and Chips were great. Server friendly and helpful. Would recommend Steam Plant as a casual date night spot.
My staff and I traveled to Spokane for a state conference and my assistant found Steam Plant Kitchen from a google search. We had a wonderful dinner, excellent wait service, and enjoyed the ambiance that allowed for us to discuss work. I had the Emerald Kale Salad (w/add'l shred chicken), and we also ordered The Codfather, Bone-in Pork Chop, and a Smoked Gouda pizza (I think this was a special request that was happily accommodated). Everyone said their respective orders were great. Don't overlook the Fire Roasted Cornbread. It was delicious and although there are Anaheim chiles in it, it's not at all spicy. The apple-hazelnut crisp was a bit too sweet and underwhelming. All told though, we would definitely visit again!
Excellent, friendly service. Even tho was an extremely popular
and busy eatery, were very prompt, cheerful with delivery of all beverages and foods.
Conversations were easy as background noise was easy absorbed into the "Wowsie" historical setting of this building.
Fun menu to choose from with generous portions and packed with presentation.
