We regularly play host live music nights, weddings, birthday parties and corporate events. The venue can also be booked for a range of team building activities such as wine tastings, quiz evenings, cocktail making masterclasses, private dining and more. You can also book the venue for a private event. We can accommodate 120 seated or 250 standing or offer the more private Balfour Bar for a relaxed 30 seated or 50 standing event space for dining or drinking for your special event.
despite having booked weeks in advance for a business lunch, and my booking having been accepted, St Barts telephoned me an hour before my booking to say it had "only just appeared" in their system and in fact they were closed all afternoon for a private function. They must have known before then
The meal was quite disappointing. The food was nothing special at all and service limited. St Barts is a very busy pub and the food is nothing more than very mediocre pub food.
Would not recommend for dinner, maybe lunchtime is better. A friend and I weren't welcomed or seated and the establishment was full of people drinking rather than eating. We had a drink and them moved on to a restaurant.
Overall we had a nice meal at this restaurant however the timing could have perhaps been better. We booked for 13.45 on a Sunday and the place was empty, leaving little to say about the ambience.
The staff were friendly and attentive.
The main meals were good value and no complaints about the food which was cooked to perfection and really enjoyable. The dessert was nice but tiny tiny portions were disappointing.
Drinks were on par with the expected London price.
Lovely room and good food but it was badly understaffed and the poor waitress was rushed off her feet trying to keep a very large table and a few other diners happy. Obviously the management is a bit inexperienced.
Went for dinner on a Bank Holiday Monday, was told when booking that main courses are 50% off on Mondays but assumed this wouldn't be the case on Bank Holiday. However this was the case, and as well as half price food which was already fairly priced without any discount, draft pints were also £3 on Mondays. I think they have a deal like this for every weekday. On top of that the food was great with top notch service in a nice setting. 10/10, can have nothing bad to say about it
The food was good as we had the special offer tapas, as much as you can eat ' offer. It was very well presented and varied too. The service was excellent with waitress being so attentive and caring. She was polite and professional at all times. She was smiling and very welcoming. The only down side is the noise levels from the bar can be fairly high, fortunately we had a quiet table which was just what we had asked for.
I had a good experience at St Bart's Brewery. A very smart, large, upmarket venue with character.
We were given a very satisfying area to sit, upstairs away from the main crowd. We had a nice, vivacious waitress who had lots of patience and a good sense of humour. She wasn't fully knowledgeable about the drinks but was always happy to find out the answers for us.
The food was fresh and succulent, but could have been more generous in the helpings. Deserts were tasty, we tried the platter. The music being piped through was really good too and not too obtrusive.
A great place to go to as a group!
Great meats but we were the only people in the dining area
Three colleagues from work, we sat on the balcony which was nice, although I felt like we were forgotten about, service was slow but we didn't mind as we had a lot to catch up on, I had deep fried avocado as I hadn't had it or even heard of it before... not bad, it still looked very fresh but not really to my taste, main course I had steak - excellent! We had read a review previously which was moaning about only having 5 chips - these chips are giant, delicious! We will be returning in a couple of weeks for our staff night out, so will be interested to review for 30 of us.
Service was very poor. Sitting waiting for ages to even be asked if we wanted drinks. Roast dinner was tasty!
We went as a group of 6 on a travelzoo deal for brunch. The food was good quality, but most came out cold. It seemed to take a long time to get our food, even though the place was not busy - I think this is why some of the food was cold as it had been sitting before being brought out to us. We requested additional toast, and condiments, which didn't arrive until most of us had nearly finished, so we didn't need it then!
All in all, it was a nice place, but if I went back it would be for after work drinks, and not for the food/service in the restaurant which was disappointing.
We were a group of 16 for dinner on a Sunday. The large floorspace and mezzanine means large groups can be accommodated. The food was fine, although not spectacular. Pudding better done than mains.
We do like our food. Steaks are grilled perfectly. Wine and cheese board is also great. St. Barts Brewery has an exceptional ambience. It is crowded but entertaining.
Food is good though a bit overpriced. No healthy options. Service is extremely slow - this has happened on 3 occasions. First time waited 50 minutes for lunch(despite booking), second time waited 30 minutes for breakfast then thirdly waited 40 minutes for lunch. When we asked where our food was, we were told by the waitress 'look how many people we have in here to serve' - this restaurant is in a business district and people take lunch between 1 and 2 pm so it shouldn't be a surprise to them.
I sent the following email to the restaurant several days ago. I've still had no response:
I just wanted to give you some feedback on your recent breakfast offer.
Firstly, I think the idea was fantastic. It was posted by our reward team on our internal social network & it certainly got people talking as it was such a good offer. So much so, that I have visited you three times for breakfast in the past week – on Fri 9th (with 3 others), Weds 14th (with 13 others) & Thurs 15th (again with 3 others).
The quality of the food was very different on all 3 visits. On my first visit, although the service was slow & patchy, we all thoroughly enjoyed our food & recommended it to all of our colleagues, hence why 14 of us returned the following week.
When we did it was a bit of a disaster – not once did a member of staff proactively come over to us to take our order or check we needed anything. Our booking was for 8:30 & it was after 10am by the time we left. Some of our party had to cancel their orders & leave without eating. When the food did come much of it was cold. Even when we asked for some marmalade, this took almost 10 mins to arrive at our table.
Usually, after an experience like this I would not return somewhere, but I had already planned to visit again this morning with 3 of my colleagues. Again, we found the service slow & the food average. The coffee served was sub-standard – we ordered a flat white which came as a latte & a cappuccino that was so huge that it too could have been mistaken for a latte.
I am left really disappointed after my experiences this week. Normally a venue would not get 3 chances to redeem itself – if it weren’t for your offer I would have given up after the first, & definitely second, attempt. It is such a shame as the breakfast menu definitely has potential to attract those working nearby, but when you are catering to people who need to get to work then the service needs to be sharp & efficient. I found it to be none of those things.
The staff were welcoming, the restaurant was warm and the food was good and hot.
Our first 3 choices were sold out. So I opted for the sirloin steak, medium. It was like a piece of gristle, so fatty. Had to send it back and ate nothing. Went home very hungry -
St Barts for breakfast - is a must. No processed stuff - it was the real deal. We had a special offer for the company, however I would happily pay the £8.95 for a full english breakfast if the standards and quality remained the same.
Only feedback is the staff could have been a little bit more on the ball - but it was only 08:30 and the teas/coffees should be more reasonably priced.
We arrived slightly later than planned, and had a half pre-booked, half ordering-at-the-venue booking, but St Barts Brewery were incredibly accomodating (although I know I would have lost all patience!) The food was excellent, everyone was throughly satisfied. We are now booking our Christmas lunch here, and although it's a half and half situation yet again, thank you for being understanding!
despite the 3 stars overall we actually had a great time. This was due to the live music which was superb(9th October) We sat on the mezzanine level and ate dinner before it started, the menu looked great but I'm afraid the food didn't match up to the description. My steak was tough as old boots and my partners chop was dry to the bone, the wait between starter and main was over 40 minutes and when I asked whether they had champaign by the glass, they rather amusingly suggested the the closest thing the had was a half pint of cider.Anyway all that said we had a cracking time. great place for a date night, the place was buzzing and lots of people dancing, so as long as you haven't come for a quiet intimate meal you should give it a go.(£135)
Empty pub , still took ages to be served,
One main course turned up wrong , still served one while waited for other !
Never again !
Really like the wood decor and high ceiling. Food was pretty good for the price, but not amazing. Kitchen still finding their feet I think. Good range of drinks you don't normally see, wine list reasonably priced. Mezzanine level nice dining spot. Surprised it wasn't busier at night though for dining. Live music is a good lively addition, but does make dinner conversation difficult. Will go back and try other menu items though.
We were very impressed by the décor, it looked really smart and welcoming. The food was delicious and service friendly and helpful, we would definitely recommend this for lunch and will go back in the evening to try dinner and some live music.
The food, the atmosphere and the service were all very good. The only thing that stopped this being a 5 star experience for us was the band, who in themselves were very good, but they were so loud it meant we had to shout to hear each other. I'd met my friend so we could catch up but we ended up having to do it whenever the band had a break.
I can totally recommend the place, but if you are planning to chat as well as enjoy the food, then you will need to check if there is live music that night...... Oh and try the nettle cider, it's great!
Pros: Reasonable decor, and mezzanine was a pleasant location.
Cons: Slow service. Staff didn't know what drinks were available. Food OK but overpriced and insubstantial. Food served on bread boards making it very heavy and hard for the staff, and no where for juices to run to. Wooden table seemed to have been treated with some sort of stain that came off on everyone's shirt sleeves.
Won't be rushing back.
