Crab Cake Bites
our famous crab cakes bite sized!
USDA Angus beef, savory au jus
jumbo lump crab, drawn butter
Good service. The menu description for the chicken sandwich did not describe at all how spicy it would be. Disappointed with that but was able to remove the spicy layer with difficulty. Food is typically good here, so will just avoid this item in future
Service was good and people are nice, as they have been over the years but the food wasn’t great. It’s Pretty pricey for the portions you actually get. Don’t get the filet, very small and costly for about 3 bites worth of steak. Crab cakes were mushy. Don’t know if we will spend the money there again.
Fantastic experience. The menu and food was excellent. Debbie was outstanding and helped make our evening special. Thank you!
Our service was exceptional! Well done to the entire staff especially our waitress.
Food was exceptional and our server was warm and friendly.
The food is fantastic here, especially the crab cakes. Our service was rather slow, I believe our waitress had a private party to was attending.
Our dinners were good. The waiter, Jason and his trainee Meg were horrible. I asked if he could make sure the baked potato was hot. He was annoyed & told me they were "all in the same bin". Asked again the 2nd and 3rd time, got the same answer and finally said "I guess I will have to microwave it".
The waiter & his trainee never came back to see if we needed anything or how our dinners were after they were served.
The bus boys wanted to clear the table while we were still eating. As soon as you put the fork down, they ran to the table to clear it. This happened at least 3 times. Are these people not trained and told to not clear the table until everyone is finished eating!!!!
We order coffee & it was served by the "trainee" Meg. When she placed it on the table she said "here you go". We asked for cream for the coffee and only one creamer was brought to the table without consideration that two people were drinking coffee and again she said "here you go" immediately left.
The trainee, Meg, decided to bring the check. She tossed it on the table and again her infamous line "here you go". She gave us about 1 minute to pay the check which we were still drinking our coffee and did not even look at the check. Needless to say - a tip. Here is the tip - wait on your customers correctly and you get a reward. A tip should not be expected!!!! Once we put on our coats, here comes trainee, Meg, to collect payment. Of course, I was compelled to say "here you go" and left it on the table for her to collect after we left.
What an awful experience. The wait staff can make or break the dining experience.
I would only recommend this restaurant with a note - do not sit in Jason or trainee, Meg, area.
Food was excellent and service was outstanding will definitely go back.
My husband stumbled across this restaurant in his travels and suggested we go. It was just perfect and exactly what we needed. Food was delicious, service was top notch, the restaurant itself exudes charm and elegance.
We had a great dining experience and the prime rib was cooked perfectly. I also was impressed with the staff and the food was served quickly. Even the Manger stopped by our table to make sure everything was done right. I highly recommend it.
Best crab cakes ever. Service was very good. One of my favorite restaurants.
Overall we were very pleased with our first time at the restaurant. However there were many tables open and their first choice for seating us was at the restroom entrance and when I asked for a different table, we were seated next to the check in desk. Could have been better seating with so many options available. Everything else was fantastic. Paced well with no rush, pleasant waiter made us very comfortable, manger checked on us appropriately, food was perfectly prepared and presented well (Lamb Chops and Duck dinners). Dessert (Key Lime and Coconut pies) alone is worth the trip back. A bit pricey for the atmosphere (maybe the seating) and the odd music that was playing loudly at times. I actually thought there might be a live band in the next room at one point. It was very bright for a Friday night special occasion dinner. Could have dimmed the lights some. All this being said, our first-time experience to Spring House tavern was very nice and we will be back. It's also nice to see a restaurant these days that continues to serve a full menu given our current pandemic issues.
Excellent meal with friendly service.
Waitress was attentive & food was delicious
Always good food accompanied by great service. You can't go wrong.
The menu could do with an update, the specials seem to be the same each week.
We took friends there and they truly enjoyed their meal.
I had the chicken parmigiana which was delicious. My only disappointment was that they no longer offer the strawberry shortcake which was the best that I ever had. But otherwise we had a great time hanging out with our friends and enjoyed the delicious foods.
We’ll be back for sure.
We ordered soup as a starter and entree with salad -soup and salad arrived same time. Before my wife finished her soup the dinner entree arrived. Like the place wasn't crowded and the chef only had our meals to do? Anyway the server was nice and the before starter cocktails were excellent. This was a Thursday evening and the bar was full. They had a trivia game going with an announcer. So it was noisy. So if you prefer quiet, avoid Thursday.
It was our first time here. The food was absolutely delicious. We had 2 apps, and our dinners. (Crab saute---a little too much butter for me but was delish and stuffed flounder)
Only problem was they were short handed at first and our waiter had a bit of an attitude. Wanted our apps and entrees ordered all at once since he said he didnt have time. Later during dinner he was more pleasant and we told him it was our first time there, he then said that 2 others called out so that left him in both rooms working..he also made it clear that they were closed (8p) did we want anything else so we just said the check and went on our merry way....but he definitely needs to be wearing deodorant. He would just walk by the table and sweat/BO is all you could smell.
We will definitely be back for the food and hopefully a different server.
We celebrated two Christmas/Boxing Day birthdays of our two old-guys. It's become a tradition and this was the perfect place to do that. The menu is traditional in the best way; not too many places have Snapper Soup on the menu, although, to be honest, I've had better snapper soup. Two of us had the crab cake entree, which was good. The other two had crab cake sandwich and a burger. The sides were well prepared and tasty.
The waiter surprised us with a nice touch by presenting the birthday boys with ice cream dishes, each with a lit candle - it was a nice touch. We pretty much had the dining room to ourselves since it was a late lunch to start and covid has kept many away. But we liked the location (geographically in between our two homes), and would recommend it to others looking for a good meal and nice ambiance.
Love the food ~ however our appetizers came out with our dinner and would have perferred to have appetizers first then dinner.
Servers were great, food was good, prices were in line for a nice restaurant. The bar area is really cozy and looks like the historic building that it is. The rest of the restaurant looks stark with too harsh lighting. It needs some stone and brick and dome decorating on the walls.
We try to go out for a nice dinner each Christmas Eve.
Great atmosphere service and food.
Met a friend for lunch, had a salad. Not much to say… the order came as requested
MANY people in the big DR & we were on the tier there--so it was very noisy.
Service was slower than usual. Dusting needs to happen on the wooden divider.
The food was not as tasty as I remember having there before.
First time having lunch at Spring House and they did not disappoint. Food and service beyond wonderful. We love dinner here and now our go to for lunch. Thanks to the staff for making our lunch a special treat.
We had a very nice dinner. Waiter was helpful in suggesting the best items on the menu.
Really enjoyed being in the dining room
The food was good and everyone enjoyed it
well run machine. great service and food came out quickly. prices are reasonable. they used rye whiskey for their old fashion so be sure to be clear on what you want in your drink.
I had the lobster roll, and the portion was very small for the price.
Haven’t been here for awhile. It’s a lovely restaurant and offers a very pleasant dining experience.
The food and service were excellent as always, but for some reason, it was far noisier than usual in the dining area near the patio. It was the patrons causing the problem, not the staff, but we ended up having to almost shout across the table to make ourselves heard to our friends.
The food was delicious and the service was attentive and courteous.
We took our time, our waiter/bartender was/is cute and nice and the food was as good as it always is. Merry Christmas!
INCREDIBLE SERVICE! I wish I could remember
this fabulous woman’s name (Short blonde hair). FOOD ALWAYS STELLAR!
The crab cake was very good and the chicken ceasar salad was excellent.
However, our waitress was inattentative. She took our order, service our meals but never came back. She never asked how anything was, if we needed anything, check on our drinks. She came back to clear the table, we ordered coffee and again she disappeared for 20 or so minutes.
Really poor service from our waitress.
My server was wonderful. I wish I could remember his name. It started with a J.
The menu is great - always something for everybody! The food is good and the staff is always friendly and remembers you- a great family restaurant or a perfect dinner for two in the bar
