Spice Symphony – 50th St.
Our cuisine is classical Indian food from all regions of India carefully prepared by star chef. Our "grandmotherly cooking,” with whole spices for a more rustic texture will blow you away.We are rated as one of the top Indian Cuisine in New York. We bring to you coastal curries from Goa, Konkan, Karwar, Allepy, Madurai, Kolkata to name a few and also a few dishes of Chinese with Indian Spices ( Indo Chinese).
Our Wine List is something that we are proud to present.
We are home,family and friends.
The best meal in the week of fine dining in NYC! So delicious and beautiful presentation. I wish I could bring the chef home with me! Simply the BEST!
My parents were visiting from Dubai, they love indochinese and it’s really hard to get that true indo chinese taste in Manhattan and spice symphony delivers on that.
Excellent chicken lollipops. The Chinese Bhel is everything that NYT describes it to be and much more. Their shrimp piri is just explosion of flavors and spice. This place will definitely be staple!
We arrived and were shown to a table that was in a poor plaxe being in the area next to the till. Our waiter was bery pushy about what he thought we shoukd eat and was positively rude ti my husband and my brother in law. We were ceey unimpressed by the whole experience and have complained to the restaurant about the treatment we rwceived
Excellent service - very attentive. The restaurant offered us a starter and a dessert on the house! The food was very tasty and well presented. And the best part was that all this was moderately priced. Will definitely visit again when in NYC.
Delicious traditional and nouveau cuisine indian and chinese food. All the dishes we've tried have been delicious. Staff is very attentive and excellent. Well worth the price.
Delicious! Service was excellent, food was delicious. Did not feel rush through dinner. Nice ambiance, clean facilities. One comment, although the eggplant was delicious, I wish I had known how spicy it was going to be. Perhaps mention heat level on some dishes? Otherwise, will definitely return. Thank you for a very enjoyable meal.
Delicious food and good service. Very busy which is always a good sign. Had the chefs special and my biggest regret is I didn’t ask what it was called so I could get it again.
Best Indo Chinese food, it was delicious!!
We had a group of 10 friends from around the country who needed time to chat and eat. Spice Symphony was perfect, good food, good service, lovely atmosphere. It was our second biennial gathering there but won't be our last. Special thanks to Santosh who managed our table!
Outstanding experience all around, great food and lovely service.
Will definitely go back. Very good food. Attentive, knowledgeable staff.
Undeniably a find. Everything that we ordered, we enjoyed. We had vegetarians as well as meat lovers and managed to satisfy everyone that came. it was my daughter's birthday and the desserts were all amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant and only wished that I lived closer.
Interesting menu though one Indian Chinese fusion dish was a bit bland, rest was good. But great service and good experience.
Our server - Aldi - was excellent!
The only issue was with the waiter not being clear in explaining the lunch menu.
My friends & I had a lovely time here. Nisar was a tremendous host for our experience. He knew the menu well & help guide us towards some excellent options. He was also very attentive. Everyone from our waiter to the dining room attendants provided excellent service. The food was amazing. It reminded me of the experiences I had at some high-end restaurants in India. Well done! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who likes Indian (or more specifically Indo-Chinese) food. Worth the trip.
This is a lovely spot for a well-prepared and tasty dinner in a nice but not stuffy setting. The service was very attentive and the menu choices were very nicely varied and included things not often seen at other Indian restaurants. The achari mushrooms and the paneer made for delicious appetizers. I did think some of the spice flavors got lost in our main dishes (telicherri chicken and lamb seekh kebab), but they were both quite good nonetheless. Our desserts, malai kulfi and ras malai, were excellent. I'm already looking forward to a return visit!
Such a good find! Wow! We were treated so well with attentive, informative, and kind service. It doesn’t hurt that the food is superb! Bravo! I’ll be back.
Tandoori chicken dried out overcooked but compensated. Nan excellent. Service good. On the mild side so ask for more spice
What a wonderful restaurant for Indian food. We loved the samosas and piri piri shrimp for appetizers. Then my husband had a great vegetarian dish of corn and spinach. I had a side dish of okra that was to die for! My entree of chili chicken was tremendous. I know I’m using a lot of superlatives here in this reviews, but the Spice Symphony deserves the best review possible. It was a bit noisy, but Santosh, our waiter, was a very courteous server and made us feel right at home. This restaurant is not to be missed. In addition, to the Indian food, there is an Indian-Chinese part of the menu. Oh yes, we had garlic naan with yogurt and mango chutney. Wonderful experience.
First off - excellent service! From the moment we arrived, up and until our departure. Wait staff, ambiance, lighting, food, all good. Felt welcoming and would definitely come back again. Came for dinner. Main wait staff was an excellent young man. Didn't hover by table and we didn't feel rushed. Made some wonderful recommendations for non-alcoholic beverages, which was a lime type drink. Two of us had the Tellicherri Pepper Chicken which was delicious. Not too spicy, which was good for me. Definitely returning.
The vegetable biryani was just delicious, and the chicken tikka masala was perfect. We had a great meal with super nice attention
Amazing food. One of the few Indian restaurants that I can’t wait to go back to..
Korma was delicious. Smoky eggplant dish was unremarkable .
Coconut flan was exquisite.
Great out of the way place with terrific food and exceptional staff - try to hit it every time I’m in NYC
We had a reservation and were seated pretty promptly. Drinks (glasses of wine) and samosas came quickly but then nothing for almost an hour. It was strange. Our waiter saw that I was probably annoyed and responded by making himself scarce. (Even after the food was finally delivered, we had to get the check from someone else.) No effort to make things right (say, by giving us a replacement for the glasses of wine that were long gone when our food arrived). Not even an apology or explanation--nothing. As we left the manager (owner?) spoke to me and made some effort at an apology and an excuse. The restaurant was crowded when we arrived for a 9:30 reservation but was virtually empty when we left.
The food was very good and we took home leftovers, which were also good. But the slow service and that fact that our waiter was a jerk would preclude me from recommending it to anyone.
Hard to get attention of any server
Had a very enjoyable meal. We ordered a few traditional Indian dishes which were solid and a few of the Indian/Asian fusion dishes which were even better. Service was good, not great (long wait between food service and dessert/coffee), but overall would recommend for Indian with a twist.
This is one of my favorite midtown restaurants. The food is just great, beginning with samosas. Enough variety for everyone, and best experience if you decide to share with your companions. Chicken Masala is creamy and perfect. And the staff is really attentive, friendly, and provide great recommendations
A friend recommended and it did not disappoint
Service was excellent well paced, no rushing. Great wine selection as well and food was very good, my biryani was excellent!
The is a hidden place in midtown. The food was excellent. All the way from the creative drinks to the appetizers and food. Service was unfortunately really poor. They advertise as a higher range restaurant - but the service left a lot to be desired. It felt like they were throwing the food at us and leaving. It felt like they were doing us a favor. Not even the water glasses were refilled. If they fix the service (attitude) - it will be a really excellent place.
This is a highly overrated place in Manhattan. The food is not remotely close to an authentic Indian or even tasty Chinese food. The ambiance is fine but you will be shocked with the taste, quantity, and quality of the food (bland) as well as the level of service. There are too many people hired by this restaurant and they keep running around but no one actually does any service. The waiters and service staff try to mingle between themselves and hide in one corner so you cannot even reach out.
The portions of food are so small that you will need another lunch after lunch there.
It seems the other reviews are all fake and hopefully places like these don't last too long. They spoil the cuisine competitiveness in mid-town NYC.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and truly amazing service. Our server was a guy called Aldi who really pulled all the stops. We will be back on our next trip to the NYC. Spice Symphony is truly a hidden gem!
We love this restaurant and return each year when we visit NYC. Our waiter was Aldi and he helped us order the perfect appetizers and entrees. Cauliflower appetizer was amazing as was Tandoori chicken. Love this place!
Simply the best Indian we e had in Manhattan
Service was as good as the food
Our server Nassim did a masterful job navigating thru the menu with passion.
I actually tried to order more dishes and he discouraged me from doing so as he knows the portions. I have a big appetite but he was spot on and saved us from running up the bill.
I had the Goat with a spicy sauce to die for, along with Prawns, the cauliflower appetizer was superb !
We’re heading back for a weekend stay at the Barkley next month and will most definitely be returning
Keep up the great work
Welcoming, hospitable restaurant. Good food, great wine list
Servizio curato, cibo ottimo e porzioni abbondanti.
Delicious food. Attentive service. Looking forward to going back .
WONDERFUL GEM! Fabulous good, warm and attentive service, charming ambiance. We had a truly lovely meal and will come back often!!!!
