This was a wonderful restaurant with excellent food choices. I had the short rib Ragu with papardelli and my wife had the veal and crab both were outstanding. We are from New York, so we often have an embarrassment of riches in terms of choices for Italian dining but this easily matched anything we’ve had back at home. Highly recommended

The woman at the check in was obviously overwhelmed. I went to check in and she rolled her eyes. I was waiting for her to greet me and ask if i had a reservation but apparently the customer is the conversation initiator. Our waiter Tai was very nice. He helped with any questions we had about the menu. Back to the woman at the door. I know 3 other families that were there last night and felt the same about the host at the door. I can’t tell you what she said to one black employee but i could tell by his demeanor whatever she said wasn’t nice. While he was cleaning off a table. Also her face was turned up when black families came in. Not welcoming AT ALL. I have been to Spasso in Media and had a great experience. Even the food wasn’t that good.

Food was meh.....very blank lasagna with weird chunks of not cooked noodles and the linguine and clams was flavorless. Way to expensive and noisy for what you get.

Friend’s Birthday. We used to come numerous times throughout the years when dining in town and then stopped since Covid-19, life changed and it was time to return. Enjoyed my go to Penne Spasso, although it was a bit too seasoned. I was going to ask what spice was used, as I never tasted this flavor in my dish previously. Not to sure if I liked it as much as the previous years, but I would order it again. I love that the pasta temperature is always hot and cooked perfectly Al dente. The grilled calamari was delicious as always as was the arugula salad. My cappuccino was very surprisingly weak, but steaming hot like I like it. My friends eggplant ( the Tuesday special) was breaded so crispy, that it was difficult for her to cut. She was disappointed with it. It was her Birthday lunch and she figured she’d try something she’s never ordered before. We had split the calamari and arugula,so she was satisfied. Life is not perfect, we all have bad days, I would definitely come back again.

One of the best Italian restaurants we've been to in the city. We came for the Tuesday/Wednesday dinner special and we're pleasantly surprised when we could order app/entree/dessert off the entire menu and not just a pre-selected list! The homemade pasta was incredible and the steak was one of the best I've had! Already recommended this location to friends. We will be back!

If you look back at my dining history you will see Spasso's a lot. The reason myself and my friends go there often is because it is GREAT. Great food, great service in a great location. Actually one of my guests that I brought last night has called me today and said he made reservations to bring his family next week. Being his first time there he was so happy he is ready to go back. That is the sign of a special restaurant.

I have eaten at many of Philly’s restaurants and believe Spasso to be among the best. The food is delicious, the service and value great. My favorite meals are Gnocchi Gorgonzola and Salmon. However, neither me nor anyone I’ve dined there with has ever said there meal was anything but delicious. When I want to take guests to a great Philly restaurant, I take them to Spasso. It’s always a hit!
