Spaghetti House Goodge Street
Lovely experience overall, our waiter was friendly, attentive and gave great recommendations for food. We went straight after work (just before 6.30 on a Thursday) so it was a little busy but not overcrowded.
A mixed crowd as there were families, couples, friends solo diners - younger kids were a little loud but not a huge issue I’d say as everyone’s chatting!
Great value for money overall as we had wine, starter and a big main which was all under £25 - would recommend and would go again!😊
Lovely food, only comment was that restaraunt a little bit bright. Great service. Would return.
This place is good value for money as they have a meal deal and several options for it. Definitely a more casual dining experience but nice for a relaxed meal.
Pleasant staff, good food, all ok
The actual 3course offer at the restaurant is poorer than the one described in toptable! So ... I wouldn't have booked in the end and will not go there again (matter of principle). Italian staff serving Italian food made by Italian chefs:food was excellent. It looks like a garish Brit. chain from outside (knew the place, never considered going, expected cheap bad food, never went: food in fact is excellent.) Wine a bit overpriced at £25+ for a montepulciano. But nice place really.
Took the special offer menu. Lovely chicken pasta dish preceded by tasty starters and finished with delicious brownies and ice cream. Attentive but not overbearing service from very pleasant staff. Nice table and pleasant ambience. Nice to see the open kitchen in the background; this always inspires confidence. Perfect for a pre-theatre meal.
Pre Theatre dinner for 10 lively dinners, booked for 4.30pm, we were fed watered and on our way by 7pm as planned. No complaints at all, Will go again
Excellent service and great food. Very welcoming and attentive
Very nice Italian suitable for taking children. Service was prompt and attentive. Location is great and perfect for moving onto shopping or drinks in a lively area of London.
Nice restaurant but the food was not good enough for £25 menu.
Ideal setting for a reunion…with room enough to eat comfortably and chat! Thanks…
Great food. I will be back!!!
Utterly dependable local Italian that's been here forever
We all remembered using the Spaghetti House when we worked together and I thought it would be fun to come again after all these years! We loved it and the food was very good indeed. The Pinot Grigio was, of course, excellent. We shall come again.
Good service, a pleasant and enjoyable Spaghetti House.
Excellent meal. I last visited this restaurant 45 years when I was a boy and Italian food was exotic. Still special. Won't wait so long until the next visit.
Been here a number of times and it has always been nice food and good value, a little disappointed this time - food was OK but not as nice as previous visits. The restaurant was almost empty and it was a Saturday evening. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and try it again later in the year. Had the spaghetti and it was quite dry, normally a nice sauce
We had a lovely table next to the window. My pawn cocktail starter was fresh and tasty. The Spaghetti Bolognese is an old classic and always tasty. Pudding was a light cream caramel which rounded of the meal nicely. Very enjoyable
It was so bad....bad taste, bad service and unreasonably expensive!
We have dined here many times in the past 30 years and the same problem comes up occasionally. The bill arrives , saying it includes service charge but tips are discretionary. You try get out without leaving a tip! Some of the servers don't think it is discretionary, they argue the toss and can get very pushy, even aggressive. Hey, Spaghetti House pay your staff a decent wage and explain politeness and restraint.
A group of friends, ex-Leicester University circa 1970, meet here for lunch regularly every two to three months. There are thirty five of us on our mailing list and our lunches can be for six or sixteen. The Spaghetti House in Goodge Street have been fantastically accommodating as our booking can be half or twice the number actually booked due to late changes. We have tried other venues but have returned to Spaghetti House as our favourite. Not sure we would move elsewhere now. We have been coming here regularly for five years and the menu is always full of choice, well cooked and delivered to the table efficiently. There have never been a complaint about any dish or the level of service. The menu changes regularly, but always includes standard dishes you can rely on. Good House wine, great coffee.
Really great food & authentic atmosphere! Would definitely recommend!
Super friendly staff, very helpful and welcoming. Service was great
We always visit SH on Goodge St when we come to London and are always very pleased with the range and quality of the food, quality of service, atmosphere and value for money. One of the best Italian restaurants in London.
Our reserved table was given away by mistake but we were re-seated very quickly. An enjoyable meal, thank you.
They seemed to have an off night when we as a party of 7 visited on Saturday evening ahead of a show, based on others reviews. The one waiter on duty was more interested in the doing other things than serving us. The food when it came was inedible - Chilli paste smeared on the pizzette and beef dishes making them hotter than an Indian meal!. Venison pasta was tasteless and overcooked. None of the meals met the standard normally expected of an Italian in that area. The manager was apologetic and explained that the chef was new but we had expected better.
Well located restaurant that has been on this site for more than fifty years - used to come here with my Dad when I was a child. Excellent family style traditional Italian cooking and for the West End very reasonably priced. When it is cold outside, aim to get a table away from the front door as it can be draughty when the door is open! However, the food alone is worth coming for. Will not hesitate to recommend to friends, family and business colleagues alike.
Spaghetti House is a long established and well known family chain offering great Italian food at reasonable prices for a central London venue. I wanted to leave a review about this meal because I was just so impressed by the service at Goodge St. My friend who is elderly had a turn during the meal and we had to call an ambulance. The staff at Spaghetti House could not have been more helpful and kind in making space so she had air and helping us manage the situation. Friend is fine now. Just so impressed by the manager and staff. Thanks very much!
We had a pre-show meal so were keen we received a speedy service, which we did. Eaten here before and each time we have been entirely satisfied. Overall would class as excellent. My wife could find fault by saying, there was no soap in the ladies toilet but otherwise clean and usable.
Booked online for a pre theatre meal, ideal if you are going to the Dominian Theatre. Prompt friendly service, very tasty pasta dishes, would definitely go again.
Always love his place. - little bit of London history
The food was great as was the service in a bustling restaurant with staff who could not have been more attentive.
Three of us met for lunch to catch up. We had all been before and reminisced on how long ago. For all of us we had first eaten there over 40 years ago. Whilst the menu had changed ( and of course the prices) it still proved to be a good varied menu with something for all of us and good prices. No evidence though of a prix fixe lunch menu. Good choice of wines. The setting has changed little with the different floors and the first floor proved quieter for us which we appreciated so we could talk and catch up easily.
Pre theatre meal with a party of nine including a wheelchair user. Despite having to use the first floor which needed our wheelchair user to use a small lift the staff were great and really looked after us. Food was good too.
I booked this restaurant for lunch before a matinee performance at the Dominion Theatre. Told them that my wife was disabled and was very pleased to find that they had reserved a table for us without any stairs to climb. We were greeted with warm smiles and felt very welcome. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was excellent - well cooked and presented and very good value. We weren't hurried throughout the meal so we managed to time our leaving just right for the theatre. Would most definitely recommend the Spaghetti House and will definitely pick it again for a pre theatre meal.
Visited here on Valentine's day for a late lunch. We had a warm welcome, were seated straight away and service was prompt.
Could not fault the food, beautifully presented and tasted amazing.
Would definately return without hesitation.
We had an excellent meal last Sunday before going to the theatre. The food was delicious, the service great & the staff looked after us very well. We have been several times before when in London & it's our favourite venue.
Food was good and staff very friendly and efficient
Good service friendly staff very enjoyable evening
We were looking for a reasonably priced place for dinner and The Spaghetti House ticked that box. The staff were very welcoming and did a great job. We shared a pizza and a salad and they were both good. It wasn't too busy but still felt a nice atmosphere, probably attributable to the staff. For cheap eat in the West End - I'd recommend this as a good option. It's a chain but they do a fine job.
