Souvlaki GR Midtown
Grilled octopus, greekmeatballs, horitiki, chicken souvlaki, pastitsio, lamb chops, greek sausage, mixed grilled vegtables, and octopus stew, were all cooked to perfection. Greek salad enough for 2. Ozu was delicious and baklava to die for!
Great service, not rushed, accommodated food allergies as well. Busy but the kitchen was great in getting out our meals.
Great find and a very enjoyable meal!
The balcony where we sat was so poorly lit. Could not see to read the menu.
It’s a nice place and good food but we ordered 3 different and get two alike and the salad was with things that wasn’t in the menu, we disappointed
Place is small and they pack people in. Little room
Between tables and no room between tables and bar area.
They sat us at the bar. The bar tables have poles in the middle of them, I now have bruises on my legs. If you make a reservation, you shouldn’t be seated at the bar. We ordered an appetizer dip. The waiter should have informed us that the same one came with our meal, we might have ordered/tried a different kind. Just an overall lack of caring and information. Won’t be going back.
The food was great, especially the lamb. The drinks
One of my favorite restaurants!
Go often. Love it. This time a newer waiter that was not very attentive. First time.
Way too noisy and hectic, not a nice relaxing dinner with friends. Place was packed, but bar music was blasting. Food was just okay.
Delightful small place. Delicious authentic food. Great servrrs
Best lamb chops ever - great pre-theatre joint.....!!!
We normally love eating here but the service was not very good.
Food was delicious, as always! And the service was fantastic as well! Prices are so reasonable, and you always1 feel very welcome.
Tiny crowded hectic place. Very good Greek food. Great value for this area of Manhattan
The food was delicious. The ambiance was lovely, BUT the noise level was so loud we could not hear each other speak! Surely there must be some way to decrease the noise level.
A little too loud. But other than that, extremely good!
I love this place. It’s not too pricey and all the food is right on. And I really like that it’s easy to eat with a group of people where some just want to graze or eat a light meal and others want to dig in to large dishes. The variety of options and price points on the menu is great for that. And it’s an obvious choice for family-style eating or shared plates. But it’s really loud and hectic. People (mostly restaurant staff) were constantly banging into my chair. I wish they could move to a larger, less hectic space. But, yes, totally recommended. Worth mentioning that the staff is Greek—they’ll leave you alone and let you eat and relax. Don’t be shy about flagging someone down to get what you need.
Everything was excellent.
Great food! Really tasty. Quite expensive for what it is. The music is excessively loud. We asked for it to be turned down, which they did but the. The level just creeped back up again. I wouldn’t mind except for a table of 5 people we couldn’t even hear each other talk.
great food (review coming from a Greek)! kinda pricy though! definitely worth trying!
The food was delicious. Very authentic Greek food and a wonderful Greek island atmosphere to the restaurant. Think of feeling like you are in Mykonos in NYC. Excellent mojitos!
The hostess was very rude. They packed the restaurant with way too many tables. There is hardly room too move between tables. We left due to the rude treatment by the hostess and went to another restaurant.
Great place for authentic Greek food! Very small restaurant-would not recommend for large parties
Loud but energetic atmosphere. Perfect for small parties.
The best Greek food in nyc! Went with our two young kids while visiting the city and will definitely be returning again!
Do not go there with children. They tried to sit me, my wife and my daughter at a table for two, with high chair being placed in the way of the entrance and were every water would have carried food over my daughter’s head. There was an empty table for 4 two tables away and the staff refused to offer this instead. Given the conditions, we had to leave and find food elsewhere. The worst part was the extreme arrogance of the front of the house that was thought that this was perfectly safe and comfortable.
love it here! all locations, all the time! super authentic - love their 2 trucks too.
Great food, great service, very small tables very close together
Souvlaki GR never dissapoints. Delicious food in a nice atmosphere.
We found this place close by the theater before going to see a show and we were glad we did! It’s a very cute place and the food is very good. We were really hungry when we got there and after getting a dip with pita and another appetizer we were almost full already before our meals even came. Couldn’t finish all the food between two of us, but it was delicious!
The place is crowded and noisy, however food is excellent.
Souvlaki GR is great for lunch, apps and drinks, or a light dinner (amazing tapas-style greek food!)
Souvlaki GR is my reliable place when in midtown. The pitas are my crack. So good can’t stop eating them! I was with two friend before a show we had the 3 dips with pita a Greek salad the grilled octopus and Patizzo. Not a crumb left on a plate. As always fabulous food. My only thing I tell people before we go is about how tight the space is. But everyone’s bring there never says anything side the food is that good
One of the best Greek places in town. Their salad with feta cheese original taste of cucumbers and tomatoes as in Europe. Lamb chops are succulent.
Great Greek food in midtown. Place is adorable. Looks like Mykonod only issue is tables are very close together
We are from the UK and spent 6 nights in New York. We visited here on our last night and it was BY FAR the best meal I ate and left me longing for more! I had the shrimp souvlaki pitta with feta, Greek fries and halloumi. The setting and staff were also lovely which made it a really special night. Thank you!
