South Ocean Grill
Our second visit, the first being fantastic. The recent visit was also great. Despite being what appeared to be short staffed on a Sunday, everyone handled the 6pm rush great. Our orders arrived slower than the last time but service was still upbeat despite the heat and being short. The only disappointing part was the ribeye steak. Size and taste was not what we expected. Overall, this is a great place and we would most certainly return.
Wish they served frozen drinks.
Been here many times and have always had a good meal. It is one of the two best restaurants in the Patchogue area.
We had a great experience at South Ocean Grill. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.
Amazing food every time we go to South Ocean Grill... and love the atmosphere too!
Service was really slow and only two people working the tables for both inside and outside. Food was ok but not great. We had the steak and crab cakes. Very small place. Best part was the key lime pie desert. I always wanted to try this place out but no need to do it again.
Usually best place in area. $35 was a little too much for the piece of red snapper, a plate full of potatoes (boring), and steamed vegetables (which were limp). At 6pm, you were out of the pasta-seafood special that sounded great to both of us. We dine with you often and have been wow-ed on every occasion -except Sunday June 30, the day I took my wife out ofr her birthday. Still not terribly disappointing, just way below the bar you've set.
I always have a great meal at South Ocean Grill. One of my favorite things on the menu is the grilled artichoke appetizer. It is AMAZING! I usually get one of the specials as my entree and I've never made a poor choice. I'm not really a drinker, but their drinks are delicious. No mixes! I had a fresh raspberry margarita that was so fruity and delicious. Not too sweet. Our server, Alejandra, was so friendly. She is a ray of sunshine. The place is cozy and nicely decorated. It's small, so you need to make a reservation in advance. My only complaint is that I wish they would change up the menu seasonally. The specials help, but it would be great to see new items regularly. I highly recommend South Ocean Grill.
We have been patronizing South Ocean Grill since is has opened.
It is one of our favorite local places to eat.
The staff are very attentive and professional, always pleasant which adds to the ambiance.
The house Sangria is DeLicious!
I'm a creature of habit, I always order the Branzino with their homemade Kale Salad.
How fortunate are we to have such a Great Place so close to home.
Trip advisor had it listed as best restaurant in Patchogue and while I haven’t eaten in all places there I’ve eaten in many. I would agree that it’s the best I’ve tried in Patchogue.
Mexican corn was yummy and my salad was terrific. I’d definitely go again and I’m planning on bringing so family members that think another place in the neighborhood is great. The south ocean grill blew this other well known place away
Fantastic place, cozy and homey with an upscale twist. Great vegetarian options. Great drinks.
Food excellent, everyone there is extremely nice and attentive. Second time there, I will definitely keep coming back
We have been here for lunch and dinner many times and are never disappointed! We enjoy the creative menu and the drink specials and the servers are friendly and attentive.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. My husband and I were seated in sofa chairs! We are definitely going to return to try more dishes. The gorganzola flatbread was amazing and the Lobster spaghetti special was delicious. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Father in town for a visit. School graduation.
We were a group of four and all of us agreed that the food was delicious, our waitress was great, and the ambiance was lovely. We're looking forward returning to the South Ocean Grill in the near future. The three of us who had the branzino thoroughly enjoyed it, as did the one person who had scallops and shrimp. That's not to mention the key lime pie that the guys had. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Consistently delicious food!
We have been coming here pretty much since they opened. The food is always super fresh and amazing every time.
Great food and service. Everything was very fresh and nicely prepared. Attentive staff. Place is small so tends to get noisy. Try the key lime pie for dessert
It's all about the food and I was very happy with my meal. The sesame seed grilled tuna was cooked to perfection and served with a simple, but tasty salad. It was the perfect dinner for a delicious, but healthy night out.
The food and service here is always amazing! It's definitely a favorite of ours!
Great service!! Food was delicious!!
This place was not in the “happening” part of town, it’s off the beaten path but so worth the trip. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food and the appetizers were delicious! We sat outside and it was muggy but perfect as there was only one other couple out there with us. Great place, will definitely return!
Only disappointment was a tiny bottle of sparkling water for $4.00
Always a great place to eat lunch or dinner. The staff is attentive and friendly. The food is always prepared well and we've never had any complaints about dining there. Prices can be alittle high for some dishes, but it's still a great value for the product. There is a small dirt back lot suitable for trucks and SUVs but most of the parking is on the street. As before, we will be return customers.
Amazing service, amazing food and the best key lime pie I’ve ever had, and yes I’ve eaten it in Miami. This is one is the best
My favorite place to come . Food is fantastic drinks are great and service is spot on
Definitely a good place to go for so e good tasty foods! Prosciutto flatbread for an appetizer was fabulous and all 4 dinners were fantastic. I had the ribs and they melted off the bone and in tour mouth. Key lime pie for dessert was the topper. Perfect time to go would be 5-6 PM after which it gets busy! Our waitress, Megan, was very personable and polite.
can'y say enough great things about this place. great, original dishes that are out of this world
The service and food was excellent I will definitely be back to try the other delicous items on the menu
Fabulous food and attentive service. This is a casual place on the water. Only objection is the noise level but the restaurant is very small so it could not be helped. Will definety go back
The most delicious food in a warm inviting setting.
Great little gem! The food was sooo delicious! Great presentation! The service was superb!
Can’t wait to go back again!
Outstanding as always!
You will Love this restaurant as much as I do , I accidentally stumbled across this restaurant 10 months ago and I have been back there seven times I can’t get enough of their scallop, shrimp & Risotto dish
Overall everything was very good as always, service a little slow but that’s ok.
It was alright nothing great. Good was ok. Nothing out the ordinary
Went for a late night dinner. Although small in size they tend to a lot of people with good food and good service. This was our second visit and I’m sure there will be more.
Small place with great food and service. Near the bay, so take a stroll after your meal!
We have been wanting to try this restaurant, but I feel it is pricey. When I saw their Long Island restaurant week menu $29.95 I knew it was the perfect opportunity to try it and many of our friends say wonderful things about the food. At 8pm on a Wednesday night we were able to get the last table with a reservation. It is a small restaurant with a bar area and restaurant week made it a popular choice. We had the mushroom, goat cheese and caramelized onion flatbread and the ahi tuna/ salad apps. (Unfortunately they sold out of the Thai calamari). Both were amazing. For our entree we had the chicken paillard which I did not try and the lobster spaghetti which was delicious. For dessert we had the key lime pie and creme brulee cheesecake. Both were excellent. They also had a $20 three drinks add-on which we did not take because 1 glass of wine sufficed.
