Sonoma Cellar Steak House - Sunset Station Hotel & Casino

Firstly, I sat in the bar area, the bartender/server was amazing. If anyone in this world has the perfect job for the person’s attitude and personality it’s her. I can’t compliment the top notch level of service enough.

Everything food-wise was great except the steak. Unfortunately, that was supposed to be the centerpiece of my meal so that really drops my food and overall rating considerably.

I ordered the porterhouse. The tenderloin side was fine but the strip side smelled like a steak that had been in the fridge a day too long and then pan fried. I ordered it medium rare. The inside was rare while the outside was well. I’d expect something like that from Denny’s or Waffle House, not a place charging in the $40 range and calling themselves a steakhouse.

The kitchen was to the extreme slow! it was 30 minutes after we sat down before we got our salads ,and another forty before we saw our meal and there was no one there just two or three couples!


My opinion go somewhere else when your paying $ 150.00 for a meal the service should be as good as the meal.

Entry:
Located in Sunset Station Casino near the back to the right of their very popular Oyster Bar. We are generally seated exactly at or just a minute or two after our reservation time. We've been here many times so this review is a mixture of all of our visits.

Atmosphere:
The ambience at Sonoma Cellar is calming. Not too loud and the lighting is perfect for a steakhouse.

Service:
Service is generally a 5 star experience. We've yet to be disappointed in our waiter/waitress and the bus/drink staff are equally impeccable.

Food & Drink:
Their food is always top notch! The salmon is nearly always cooked to perfection. Their steaks are a very decent cut and cooked properly to order. I think maybe only once mine came out a little overdone and they offered to recook it but it wasn't too bad. The creamy spinach is delicious. The only better I've ever had was as STK. The grilled asparagus is perfectly cooked. All of the sides you can order are generally above par for this price point. The roasted chicken meal is also a great option. Their lobster is delicious and decently priced. You really can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu!

Overall:
Definitely recommend. Sonoma Cellar is a great place to visit for locals and tourists if you're looking for an off-strip experience.

My better half and I had a lovely evening. Our server was attentive as well as expedient. The croissant was perhaps the best in the world (no hyperbole required). We shall definitely be returning.

Went for a good steak dinner and I was surprised it was much better than the last high end steak dinner I had in the area at Flemings on South Vegas Blvd. and better priced also. Will be back.

Husbands 40th birthday!

The food was awful on New Years Eve and we have never had a bad meal here before.
We were very disappointed but will go again because it’s one of our favorite places to dine.

We had delicious New Years Eve dinner. We started off with Cesare Salad, fresh and delicious. Filets we had were cooked perfectly, great tasting steak , and both are sides , creamed spinach, and corn were excellent. Service A+, very friendly. Cannot wait until we go back.

One of our favorite steakhouses in Vegas. Inside the sunset station casino and far away from the strip its probably mostly enjoyed by us locals. However, if you're looking for something off strip it's definitely worth the taxi, Uber or lyft. We've been here many times and have always been impressed. All cuts of steak are very good. Filet, rib eye, sirloin, new York strip etc. The salmon is amazing. Their drinks are always made to order and they are friendly with the liquor. The bread they bring before the meal is always amazing. You really can't go wrong with sonoma cellar! Highly recommended!

Great food, just offer carmelized onions and mushrooms for steak options.

Came here for our annual Christmas dinner. This is our second visit and everything was perfect, just like the first visit. Steaks were perfectly cooked and drinks were delightful. The Justin Cab paired very well with my ribeye. Poom was our waitress and was absolutely amazing! Will be coming back again!

Juan was amazing! He tended to our every need. Food was amazing. The cram cakes were delicious. If you like a good strong cocktail, try the Cucumber mint martini.

The service and food is always Amazing! Still the best steaks I have been since I moved here 2.5 years ago. One of the best creme Brule dessert!

My mother had the broiled salmon with sautéed asparagus, my girlfriend had the mahi-mahi (the daily special) also with sautéed asparagus, and I had the grass-fed filet mignon with gorgonzola fondue and sautéed broccolini. The proteins were out of this world, and the three of us agreed that the broiled salmon was the best we'd ever had. The chef absolutely knows what he's doing with the proteins, as the mahi-mahi was great and the filet would have been excellent even without the fondue. The vegetables were lackluster, though. We all agreed that we'd had better asparagus and broccolini elsewhere. Coupled with the prices, I felt that to be enough to dock it a star. Still, I'd recommend the place, with the caveat that you should just stick to the proteins and ignore the vegetable side offerings.

After not having eaten out in a while, it was nice to get back to one of our favorite steak houses. The French onion soup was excellent, as were the sides of au gratin potatoes and macaroni and cheese, but the perfectly cooked filet mignon steaks were the real stars of the meal. Juan did a great job tasking care of us.

Poom, our regular server is amazing. She is super attentive, friendly anc is the reason why we love dining at Sonoma Cellars.
