I came here while wedding dress shopping with my family. It was a wonderful experience. Staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome. I had to move my reservation and add people and change tables and it was never a problem at all. I will definitely be back this spring and summer to sit on their awesome patio!
We love this place. Go there all the time and recommend to friends constantly.
Had a bridal party dinner and they were so accommodating and sweet to our group. I highly recommend this place!!!
Great food and wine. Our waiter was working really hard, but they appeared to be short staffed or something. It was a Saturday night. Service wasn't great, but other than having more feet and hands, I don't know what he could have done. Our meals and wine was outstanding.
A great cheese plate paired with good wine and incredible service, can't beat it!
Monte Cristo was excellent, the. Huevos Rancheros was good. We asked for any okay chard. The recommend wine was not okay.
We would go back.
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time to celebrate Valentine's Day a few days late, and we will definitely be returning!! The dinner menu is amazing and decently priced...we loved the descriptive wine menu too. The fish tacos and short ribs were both great, and we enjoyed the cheese plate to start. Lovely place and nice staff as well.
We took advantage of their 5 course Valentine's Week Price Fixe Menu with Wine Pairings. It was exceptional. The four of us loved it. It absolutely exceeded expectations. Would definitely go back!
Hi I am a frequent visitor of this venue and purchased a valentines package through even brite- my boyfriend and I went on Valentines day. IT was a 5 course pairing. The process of securing the reservation was very confusing. I had to make a deposit of 50% when purchasing the reservation but there was no way to indicate a time or date. When I presented the waiter with the pre-paid voucher he was very confused and didn't really understand it which I thought was strange. For the price I think the meal wasn't as good or substantial as it should have been. My final bill was more than the initial advertisement indicated. I think I got over charged especially since I had make a pre-paid deposit. IN general I love the wines here but the selection for this meal wasn't great. Starting with a sweet white- ( I would have preferred champagne especially for valentines day) and I'm a red drinker and the pinot was good the second red wasn't great. I don't care for sweet dessert wines and wished there was an alternative for this to end the meal like another red. It's a great spot but they didn't have the Valentines Day offering worked out as well as I'd hoped for the price.
I'm a fan. Love the focus on US wines. Excellent selection of wines too. Service is fantastic. Very friendly staff too.
Great wine list. Food OK. I really wanted to love it but fell flat. Service OK. Our server was a little lean in info (didn't bring complete menus, explain, or suggest). Our food runner was extremely nice. Will be back just for wine out in their patio.
Go there for the wine, not the food.
Me encanta este sitio. Buen ambiente. Vinos fantásticos. Buen servicio.
The food was beautiful and tasted fantastic. We had the restaurant week menu and loved it!
Great service and food. We went during restaurant week and was impressed with the selection, quality and portion. We will definitely go there again.
It’s a bit loud. Wine was fantastic though...
The food was very good and the staff very pleasant. They were very accommodating of my two year old too.
Beautiful small restaurant. Excellent food and wine. Enjoyed a great evening for date night. Inside was beautiful. The outside seating area could use a little cleanup and decor.
Very good meal. Lamb burger was amazing. Wine was great. We had a really good dinner. The server was on point. He was very professional. We will definitely come back
Friendly, kind and attentive staff. The food was good. Smaller than usual "American" portions which was just right for us. A special thank you to Manny for the great service!
We chose Sonoma before we knew there was going to be a snow storm and are glad we didn't cancel. It's was a girls' night and we had a great time tasting different wines and the bartender was very accommodating and made solid recommendations for the flights. The food was very good and this little gem stays on our list for groups and date night.
Great gem in Old Town. Friendly owners who welcome each guest and takes the time to get to know them. Highly recommend. Food was excellent and the wine selections are highly rated. If you're in Old Town - a great place to stop in at. They also have a wine garden for outdoor seating.
I've been here once before just to the bar for a wine tasting and it was lovely and I wanted to come back. All the wines are from California and they have an excellent selection. This time I was with girlfriends and we sat upstairs and ate dinner. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable as well as friendly. The food was delicious. I had the hanger steak which was cooked to perfection. My first attraction with this place was the wine and it didn't disappoint and now that I've tried the food, I would happily eat there again but what I like the best is the ambience of the place. Its an old house built in the early 1800s and we actually ate dinner in the former ballroom tiny as it was. I have lived in the area 40 years and Old Town has always been my favorite place in the area. It rarely disappoints as far as food and drink and the Sonoma Cellar did not either.
The food was okay. We found both the butternut squash and tomato soups to be very watery and not much flavor. The veggie burger was good. The quesadilla was on the small side. As you'd expect, the restaurant offered good wine from CA. I'd go back but would stick with sharing appetizers and having wine.
Our first time for brunch here. It was great. Quiet peaceful. Service was good and the food was excellent. We have been here for dinner and drinks before and had a good experience as well. Kudos to the staff.
We were the first to arrive for brunch and sat upstairs overlooking charming King Street with folks walking about below. We were seated right away with menus – followed very shortly with our waiter asking for our drink order. Our brunch order was taken with the return of our drinks ... lovely Mimosas - delicious. However we then had to wait 50 minutes for our brunch. After waiting for 35 minutes, we were told that our order mistakenly had not been put into the kitchen. With a total of maybe 10 customers in place, how does this happen??? We were told we would receive a discount because of the delay – which turned out to be a total of a miserly $3.00 off (which is more like salt on a wound).
Ok, now that our displeasure has been voiced: the food was actually very tasty. I had a Monte Cristo – grilled turkey, ham and gruyere cheese – with side salad. The sandwich was really wonderful tasting. Mrs. had a salmon benedict, which she said was very flavorful.
A number of reviews complain about the service. Management would be well served to improve service, as the food was very good.
Darling atmosphere. We had great wine flights and delicious food. It’s an excellent spot in Old Town.
Sonoma Cellars is hands down one of my favorites. Sit at the bar while enjoying really good food and you might just make a new friend in the bartender (all very cool) and/or with other barflies. I've been going for a few years now and have always left fully satisfied.
We came to Sonoma Cellar after they held a wine-tasting at an historic venue. The wine selections were very nice, so we tried the restaurant. First impression was not good as it was very crowded and there was no hostess in sight for about 7 minutes. I had reservations, so we got seated right away once a host appeared. We chose to sit outside which was lovely at night and much quieter than inside.
The waiter was attentive and helpful with suggestions. The snack/appetizer baked brie bites were outstanding, however, four 2" square pieces for $15 was unreasonable. The salmon and risotto was very good, but not excellent. The tres leches cake w/choc. ice cream was outstanding.
The wine list is not extensive but the two white wines and one red we tried were all solid. They offer 3oz. pours, which is key if you like to try different wines but not spend or drink too much. I'd like to try Sonoma Cellar on a quieter week night or late afternoon next time.
Love having brunch with our pup in the wine garden in the back! The full sized brie is a must. The Monte Cristo will not disappoint.
We were seated outside and while we didn't have dogs, there were a few, which is wonderful. Our waiter was great, very personable. The food was outstanding. Wish the wine prices were lower but it didn't stop us from having several glasses. I highly recommend sitting outside, if possible. Great place. Will be back for sure.
We sat in the outdoor patio and it was beautiful!
Waiter was very slow. Took way too long to ask us what we wanted to drink and then way too long to bring them. He did not inform us of specials. Only found out about them as we were leaving and saw sign on wall. Salad was very good. Entre was ok, but boring. Would not go back.
Great place! Very fun to roll through the wine tasting menu before having a nice dinner. The paella was perfect - a bit spicy, nice seafood, and a right-sized portion. Highly recommended!
I have dined at Sonoma quite a few times since it opened and I will say the food is good! Unfortunately what I dislike about Sonoma is that their wine menu is the same...I have tried it all each time I have visited and they almost never have new choices. What made this last experience especially unpleasant was that I ordered a glass of sparkling wine and the flute was only filled HALFWAY! When questioned, I was told “this is how we always serve our sparkling wine”. Two sips, it was gone. I have never been anywhere that doesn’t fill a glass of sparkling to the top in a flute. Waiters were pouring glasses of wine bent over and ensuring they were filling to a specific level. I understand wine is expensive and you should be pouring 5 oz and not over pouring on everyone’s glass, but watching the exactness of the pour for everyone was skimpy.
Cute outdoor patio.
Their casual chic ambiance was a bit too much casual. Server hovered too much then let water drip onto patron's clothes.
Food was mediocre but pricey.
This was our second visit, likely the last.
My friend and I went to Sonoma Cellar for restaurant week. The food and service were very good. The outside patio was so-so...the tables were close together and there was a large spider web above the chair of a diner at a nearby table that was as big as a dart board. I may return to this restaurant, but I will sit indoors.
We stopped in for brunch during restaurant week and had a fabulous meal. The host and server were very pleasant and attentive and the selection for a fixed price brunch was everything we wanted. We had delicious belini and mimosa drinks, gaspacho and mixed salad starters, and croque monsieur and huevos rancheros entrees, and were very impressed with the dishes. We sat in the outside patio which is a little rough in decor with uneven and even loose rock flooring and somewhat low grade tables and chairs. However, the Bose music system with nice selections and amazing food quickly made this a non issue. Our fellow customers were very friendly and lively which made for great company and reflected well on the restaurant. I highly recommend it.
The service has gone downhill. This was such a welcome addition to Old Town but this last visit was disappointing on many levels.
