Nice surroundings. Food isn’t quite up to the best we had in Thailand, but it’s pretty good. We went with a selection of small plates & all were good. Green papaya salad was very spicy. Larb was nicely seasoned, but would have been nicer with pork rather than chicken breast. Mango sticky rice for dessert was perfect.
Great menu with many options. All the food was delicious. Very attentive service.
Host was not friendly but server was. Overpriced for mediocre food, small portion.
i always love dining at Soi 38...it's a wonderful way to treat myself, colleagues, and/or friends. Great food, good service and value.
Terrific Thai food. I brought some colleagues who had never had Thai before and they loved it. Something for everyone.
Unusual food, well executed, great service!
Overall it was a good dining experience. The food was really good. The menu has a lot of options. There are several meat dishes that can be made vegetarian which was appreciated. The drinks were just okay. The mule we ordered was mostly ice. Our service could have been a little better. The server was also the bartender so we got a little neglected for a while. Overall I would say this is a decent place to grab a good meal.
Lots of hard decisions - many of the traditional Thai favorites are on the menu, but so are several "street" dishes I've never seen elsewhere. Three happy campers at our table. My only regret is that the dish I ordered (ground pork with a dry curry) was somewhat monochromatic; it was delicious (and spicy!), but would be better ordered when sharing dishes to get some more diverse textures and tastes.
Very good drink list - cocktails lean toward sweet, and nice choices of craft beer and wine to accompany Thai food.
Service was attentive but not overbearing. Nice sidewalk seating, neither overcrowded nor too noisy and traffic-y for downtown DC.
Best things we ordered were crispy spring rolls and the side of a papaya salad. Shrimp shiitake dish with cellophane noodles was disappointing. Overall a good Thai restaurant but did not shine.
Vacation dinner. I think the food was very good and very well cooked. I got a delicious Thai tea, rice noodles, and grilled chicken. The only thing I would say is that there are not many options for kids. But over all I had a great experience and I think that if you go to Washington DC you should stop by.
Always pleasant, always prompt, always spicy and always full of flavor. It's one of our favorites in the neighborhood, and one of our favorite Thai restaurants anywhere!
Very good Thai food with menu items not often found. Really enjoyed this spot!
The decor is attractive and the server was very friendly. The quality of the food was just OK. I don't like it when the stir-fry obviously uses only the stalks of the broccoli, because the actual broccoli is being sold separately as a side dish. Nobody wants to eat only the woody stalks. The pad thai sauce did not seem freshly made and was not very flavorful. Worst was the dessert, the ginger ice cream was a pudding-like gloppy mess that was inedible.
Yummy and the service was terrific. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very good Italian restaurant. We are from France and it is difficult to find a good one here. The burrata is exquisite and the pasta are so tasty too.
We were waiting for some more Italian deserts to end the evening but they were good too. Service perfect very professional.
SOI 38 is consistently good - very flavorful and very reasonably priced. West End has mostly high-end restaurants, so it's nice to have an option that won't break the bank.
I saw here from Michelin guide and we visited there after. It was a good experience and all the dishes were not bad.
We were able to be seated quickly. Service was great and our food was food. There was a shrimp dish that was little salty but still good food.
I am a frequent diner at Soi 38. It has never disappointed. The small plates and the roll/wraps are sublime, soup is superb and the specialty Thai dishes are authentic and delicious.
Much better than expected. Server was very helpful.
Good, but pricey for the quality of some, not all, the plates
I ate at a booth by the bar. It was easy to get reservations on a Tuesday night. The atmosphere is. I’ve dark rich colors. I had the Thai Iced tea, tom kha kai, and massamAn chicken curry. Curry was soupier than I’m used to but it was perfect when I added the rice.
Great service in an attractive business casual setting. Innovative menu with new and old favorites.
Excellent food and service.
A great thai place
But $40 for two small bowls of soup and shrimp padthai seems like a lot of $ even incl tx n tip !
We love this restaurant. Food always good
Food was delicious. Split three things between 2 people and definitely enough without being way too much.
I’ve been to Soi 38 several times, and it’s always a pleasure. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is authentic, exactly the kind of food I’ve enjoyed in Thailand. They are also very helpful for people who need a gluten free diet - the menu is clearly marked and the staff are knowledgeable. It’s one of my favorite places.
Nice deco and the food is good every time! Very attentive and friendly servers.
Finally a Thai restaurant that understands what "Thai Hot" means! Thank you foor delivering a spicy, hot, delicious meal!
Great food, a little expensive but I knew that going into it! Fun cocktail menu with lots of variety!
Great dinner and the staff was very accommodating when waiting at the bar during happy hour for everyone to show for the table. Many Gluten free options
Good food, inexpensive, quality ingredients
The food was great, service was very good and the restaurant was very nice. I have no negative comments.
Very good Thai restaurant
Incredibly good Thai food. Excellent service. Was looking for something before going to the Kennedy Center that could accommodate my sister with gluten and dairy free restrictions. This was perfect!
Cool presentation of an Old Fashioned as well.
I've been to Soi38 a few times. Food is consistently good. Some items offered on the lunch menu are a bit pricey. The food is consistently good.
I really like eating at Soi38, I often go here for lunch w colleagues. I love love the food. But I still do find that the food doesn't come out fast during lunch hours occasionally. I feel that its bit short staffed during busy hours.
Fast service during lunch hour. Thank you
The perfect dinner
