It was brilliant the food was lovely, the restaurant is a nice place we will defo be back.
Afternoon tea was a delight. On a personal note we prefer more savoury to sweet so would prefer an extra sandwich or savoury pastry to sweet, but that is not a criticism just our choice. Staff very attentive and extremely helpful. We had a great afternoon thank you.
Had a great time at the sky lounge served by Laiken for a friends birthday. Drinks were kept flowing and food was great. Will definitely recommend.
Very good venue, but would recommend booking a table in advance especially on weekends because it was quite busy
Great ambience at the Doubletree and such good value for money. The waiter was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend and we will certainly be back!
Expectation was high and looking forward to afternoon tea with my wife, the sky lounge was comfortable with a good panoramic vista of Leeds, then the food arrived, what a disaster, the serving platter was scuffed and the food on it was bland and not even a hint colour!
The bread was bordering on stale and still with crusts, not expected from such a renown hotel chain, and there wasn't even a full sandwich between us, the savories were indistinguishable and had you been blind folded it would have been near impossible to determine the taste or difference, the token sweet was undescernable, finally something to behold a scone which looked and tasted like a scone, hurrah!
When one mentions the Hilton it suggests a certain quality which on this occasion was woefully below par and the kitchen and front of house staff should be immensely embarrassed to serve this pathetic assembly of food to paying customers.
I will be pursuing this directly with the hotel management.
I will never return and if asked would not recommend this hotel.
First time back for a number of views but still a great location. Great for weekend Brunch but essential to book. Staff work incredibly hard but are welcoming and cheerful.
Poor customer service. Had a reservation at 5:00 pm and the staff said they won’t be serving food until 7pm. Ordered cocktails and had to wait 30 mins to get them. Just dreadful
Asked to move as near a large group and waiting staff more than happy to move us. Staff were fantastic at keeping us topped up. Great service!
Excellent time, staff were really good and the service was superb. Had a great time celebrating my birthday.
The food choice was not your normal afternoon tea, fabulous and friendly service
We went for bottomless brunch and the food was great. The service was also amazing and the staff are lovely
It’s hard to rate your service when you never actually received any in the first place.
It was my first Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and I wanted to surprise him with cocktails and tapas at the sky lounge as he mentioned he’s always wanted to go.
So I booked the deal where you get tapas and cocktails included. We turn up on time for our table but we had to ask the staff to show us too our table.
We then sit at our table, wait a while and ask a staff member if we perhaps needed to order at the bar.
She replied “this is not my area someone will be with you shortly” another 20 minutes pass still without a drink or our order been taken for food we just decided to leave. We instead went to the slug and lettuce and had a much better evening.
What a waste of time.
Ver good environment，but a little bit terrible afternoon tea.
Overall good atmosphere, although very expensive drinks and a lack of live music/DJ which is stated on the website
First time visiting, had a fabulous time enjoying the bottomless brunch with a friend. Will be returning soon for afternoon tea 😊 Can’t wait !!
Come here every time we visit Leeds... Absolutely love it.... Cocktails are divine... Staff always friendly... Love the location.. Superb evening spent yet again... Thanks...
Fantastic service will definitely visit again food excellent at sky lounge.
If you’d like to spend time with friends and chat- absolutely NOT recommended. Music is far too loud! We couldn’t hear our own thoughts so forget about conversation.
View is brilliant, however very windy on the balcony. The service at reception good, however, waitresses rude and very unpleasant to be served by. Look like upset for being at work- no people/soft skills whatsoever.
In general, good place for getting drunk with no other entertainment. Bare in mind though, drinks not cheap and you probably won’t get a smile from a waitresses!
I would visit the sky lounge again. The tapas was amazing and really good value, however, the drink prices are extortionate. I don't mind overpaying for drinks if the service is impeccable, however, it isn't. I think the management need to increase staffing levels in the bar to provide a higher quality service to cover the prices they are charging.
I booked afternoon tea in the sky lounge for a friend’s birthday, I booked it on cyber Monday so got a great deal. The waiter was very accommodating filling our glasses with prosecco before they were empty, and asking if there was anything else we needed. The food was amazing and filling. We will definitely be booking again well worth it.
Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience at Sky Lounge. Arrived and waited over 15 minutes to get seated, it was clear they were understaffed as I had to find someone to tell them we had a booking. Got our table and no one brought a menu, we called someone over and they didn’t come so we had to stand up and literally look for waiters to give us a menu. After 30 minutes we again had to find someone to take our order, only to find out that food had a 45 min wait time... they gave us complimentary drinks for the inconvenience. Food arrives, a dish is missing and the same gruelling activity of finding someone so that it can be addressed began again. Finally, someone came over and told us that he will inform the kitchen, when asked if we could order other dishes he said that unfortunately they weren’t taking anymore orders as they ran out of food.... didn’t even have desserts left.
All in all a nightmare of an evening, getting the bill was also an ordeal.....
It was a good experience and although it was cold they had heaters outside . The service was ok and drinks expensive but that didn't ruin the experience.
Drinks are pricey but worth it. Lovely atmosphere, dimmed lights and low music. Perfect for a date night. Outside seating area was chilly when I went so was offered blankets by staff. Lovely Secruity/bar/waiting staff. AMAZING VIEW
Staff need to be retrained on how to provide an excellent service. You can’t charge crazy prices and then have staff with no level of customer care. Staff seemed uninterested, had to be told several times for one thing. Took 15 mins to just bring the bill as the guy was too busy chatting to his colleagues, had to be reminded again. Awful service and the staff need to learn to crack a smile.
Very loud. Other customers pushing into us. Reserved a table and children were sat eating crisps on it, when we arrived. Took staff 15 mins to give us other table.
I was disappointed with the atmosphere. No table prepared for the arrival. It was a present for a 65th birthday and no fuss made whatsoever. Bread felt stale, meat very dry. The waiter however was spot on, he made sure we always had a drink.
Venue great, atmosphere lovely, food delicious and service excellent.
Lovely way to spend an afternoon in-between Christmas & New Year.
Experience made by our wonderful waiter, Richard. Went for afternoon tea and prosecco. Not everything advertised was available, which was disappointing as we booked weeks ago. Richard went twice to the kitchen to ask for alternatives but kitchen staff refused. Richard ended up going to the kitchen himself and made 2 savoury croissants, which were fab. Big thumbs up for Richard, not so much for the kitchen as everything on the set tea menu should have been available
Excellent value for money, great atmosphere and very helpful, friendly staff
The bottomless brunch i have found to be good value for money.
Drinks prices ridiculous and poor service, ended up going to the bar ourselves
Lovely place for a Christmas party. Staff were very attentive and friendly
I would never recommend Afternoon tea at the Doubletree by Hilton Leeds to anyone. It was absolutely terrible. We had booked to celebrate my daughter's graduation. So as not to spoil her day I didn't complain, but it really was the worst afternoon tea I've ever had. Small, tasteless sandwiches made with stale bread, a few plain cakes which looked like shop bought Xmas cake and mince pies (!) Thank goodness for a decent scone. Tea and coffee arrived way in advance of the food, which meant it was cold by the time the food arrived. Honestly - £5 each would have been a fair price. But at £25 each, this really was the worst rip off of my life. So disappointing - felt really bad for my daughter, as obviously, she was way too polite to say anything. Never again!
Had a great time with friends for our Christmas get together. Service was great and we were well looked after by our waitress, Beth.
Excellent value for money. Staff very friendly and attentive.
We had a great time.
Went for drinks on a Saturday night with friends, great venue & service !
No issue with any aspect of it but by the same token there wasn't anything outstanding about it. Wouldn't want to put people off but can't help thinking there must be better out there.
The overall experience was a welcoming change to our usual girlie Xmas night out. No complaints on the food and the service by Connor was excellent, he was the perfect host...
After our allocated time at the table, we were advised to locate to alternative seating which was very relaxing and also offered further drinks.
Would definitely recommend 😊🥂
We arrived for our booking and they had no booking down for us, therefore they just sat us out of the way where we couldn’t hear any entertainment.
The service was awful.
We paid £25 for two cocktails that were very amateur and not nice, for £25 I expect them to be amazing.
We asked for the card machine to pay and no one returned after they said they would bring it for us to pay, we went to the bar where the service was shocking. Will not be returning, I was so disappointed as I had high hopes.
