Sky Lounge at Doubletree by Hilton Leeds
It was ok, but won’t rush back. Very expensive. Staff very pleasant and cocktails good. Just way over priced for what you get.
Had a fab afternoon and service was great! Only.comment would say is that one half of the venue feels a bit plain compare the main part where you walked into.... would definately go again.
Loved every single thing at sky lounge the view the service spot on. One thing did disappoint me was the means need more vegetarian options and also if you don't drink to have a dessert menu.
Fantastic service and atmosphere as always although we were disappointed that no one made us aware prior to arriving at the sky lounge that the kitchen wasn’t open when we had booked a table to eat
Fantastic views over the city but I find it hard to justify the cost of the drinks.
Quite loud and noisy and lots of different things going on. A wedding in one corner, a birthday in another.
We didn’t eat as we were just getting a drink before moving on for food elsewhere. Not sure if I’d go again. Wasn’t that great.
We went for the bottomless brunch - Such good value for money, food was delicious and our drinks were always full. The venue is beautiful with an amazing view over Leeds. Would definately recommend.
The service was very good, the views spectacular but the food was rather tasteless and a great disappointment. Our visit was a birthday treat for my mum, who had a lovely time but considering the cost, I was overall disappointed. Everything looked and sounded tasty, however most of it was tasteless!
Personally I think my local cafe provide a better quality food at a more affordable price.
As it was my mums treat, I didn’t bother to mention my disappointment as she seemed happy and I didn’t want to spoil it for her. It won’t stop me visiting again but definitely not for ‘afternoon tea’
Came here for afternoon tea on a hen do and it didn’t disappoint, excellent service, lovely food and brilliant atmosphere! Only criticism was that the DJ was playing music a lot louder than I’d expected at 4.30 in the afternoon so it was a little loud for the games we had planned!!
Good value bottomless brunch and waiters were friendly. Service was slow however and it took a while to get drinks and food. Our food was over salted which meant neither me or my partner could finish it however the starter course was lovely.
brilliant atmosphere, great experience. would highly recommend.
Very average service. Hit and miss.
Having enjoyed a brunch here recently we decided to return for food and drinks on Saturday evening. Big mistake. Service was terribly slow, music was so loud you had to shout and half the food on the menu was not available. Drinks good but overpriced. Nice setting and interesting people watching.
The issue was we couldn’t get a drink refill. The kitchen was backed up and we were fine with the food wait (the restaurant was not full, just a large party in front of us). They only allow one drink at a time but we had to finish it and then wait 10 or more minutes for someone to allow us to re-order and then longer to get it in front of us. You may get three drinks at a bottomless brunch, four if you call them out for the poor service. Unfortunately it was a waste of £25 and you’re just better off going to any of the other establishments. Also - no one seemed happy to be there work wise. I’ve
been in the industry ten plus years and while no one was particularly rude, they made no effort to make it a good experience. Just the bare minimum. The Alchemist will get our business next time.
Myself and 3 friends had bottomless brunch and it was well worth the £25. We had several drinks in the time allowed. The atmosphere was really good and the service was excellent.
Was using the Eat Leeds Restaurant voucher but when I got there was told it would start til 4pm when on the website it was clearly stated it would start at 3pm. Staff were unaware of the offer details. The service was terrible-the food was late coming out each time and had to wait more than 30mins before desserts came out. At the end I got charged extra for changing the flavour of ice cream that would've come with dessert dish anyway.
I would go back but better knowledge from staff is needed and better service
I booked lunch at Sky Lounge as part of our wedding anniversary celebrations- we've never been there before and the location looked so nice on photos I hoped it would feel special. Sadly it was anything but. When we came the place was almost empty with plenty of empty tables available yet we were shown to one of the smaller ones with high bar stool type chairs - after 5 minutes it was obvious that while it might be ok for a drink or two it was not too comfortable to have lunch there. I've asked if we could be moved to one of the more comfortable ones to which the waiter's answer was 'I do not mind where you sit, makes no difference to me' which sounded a bit rude. The wait for our food was really long and when the tea arrived the pot had a big chip on the top - not sth you expect to see in a place like that. The food was quite nice but the desserts were extremely sweet - I enjoy sweets but could not even eat half of blueberry cheesecake - it was just sugar overload. We asked for a second pot of tea that never arrived - 15 minutes later we decided to leave as it was obvious that staff is not really interested in serving us at all. They were chatting and laughing very loudly but paying very little attention to us. When I approached bar to pay my bill again I had to wait for some time for someone to take my money while staff just walked around looking disinterested and bored. I definetely expected higher standard of service and food from Sky Lounge and considering the price of the lunch is almost £25 per person I was shocked to see additional £2.5 charge for service. Overpriced and extremely underwhelming experience.
Terrible service. We were there for an hour an a half and no one came over to check we were ok or wanted drinks. We were served our food and left!
Late delivery with food but the food was amazing and staff were apologetic.
Food was amazing & great value for money, however the service let it down quite a bit. We had to wait ages to be asked if we wanted a drink, my friend asked for sauce 3 times & when they brought it she had no food left! Wine was very pricey but to be expected I guess at a place like Sky Lounge.
You need to sort out your service for the restaurant side of the business. Multiple issues on the night, I have contacted Sky Lounge separately about this. Wouldn't return for food but would for drinks simply for the views
This is our 2nd visit and the first time it was excellent, this time the service was really disappointing.
We had to keep going up and asking for things like milk, sugar, no butter was given for toast.
No one asked us if we wanted a regular we had to keep asking, our plates were only cleared when we asked for them to be.
I was quite disappointed when I came for afternoon tea at the Sky lounge. It has been recommended by a family friend, so I came with my mum and sister. We were seated almost immediately and given the menus. We ordered afternoon tea. I was quite taken a back with the lack of savoury, only 2 sandwiches. My quiche was burnt, and during this time not one member of staff came to see us. We didn’t have plates when the afternoon tea arrived, so I had to wait until someone was available. I was really disappointed with the service and the quality of the afternoon tea.
Very cosy place, friendly and professional staff, with excellent drinks. Definitely recommended.
Went to Sky lounge for bottomless afternoon tea with my mate. The food wasn’t nice at all, sandwiches were blunt, puddings were soggy, jelly shots of pimms were vile. We had to keep on asking for top up. This afternoon tea wasn’t even worthy that £83 we paid for 2 people.
Fantastic place, lovely experience. Will definitely be returning
A fabulous time spent enjoying the Bottomless Brunch. Great value for money & good food. The only little criticism is that we had to keep asking for the Prosecco shot that should accompany the Pornstar Martini’s. Other than that - brill.
Don’t be late because there is no flexibility on times for afternoon tea. The place could do with a bit of a refurb and the service is a little slow.
Lovely atmosphere and amazing service, everything about the Sky Lounge made my night extremely special, will definitely come again!
Went with friends for afternoon tea and drinks. The view is great, but the standard of the afternoon tea was pretty dire. The service is terrible - after waiting 20 mins for the bar staff to bring our drinks over - we lost the will to live and left. The place was pretty empty so staff werent rushed off their feet. Give it a miss!
No entertainment as advertised , atmosphere little flat
Great bottomless brunch, food was hot and delicious, drinks were free flowing and the service was great! Will definitely be back!
Amazing staff , great VFM & gorgeous venue . Totally made the best decision choosing Sky Lounge
Food took 50 minutes to come and it wasnt even nice
What a disappointment! This is a trendy bar that I would say does not have the ambience for afternoon tea. There were 5 of us, all middle aged ladies, so maybe we picked the wrong establishment. The music was so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves speak, let alone hold a conversation. The service seemed very disorganised and chaotic. The food was as one would expect and tasty, although I would have liked a little more savoury food and a little less sweet, but maybe that's my personal taste. The manager did give us a free drink to compensate us which was a nice gesture. Sadly our afternoon out was already ruined.
Very noisy . We had to wait I hour for food to arrive and that wasn’t until after 45 minutes we had to go and remind them food still hadn’t arrived. No tea and coffee forthcoming and this was afternoon tea!! Again had to ask for it and again didn’t arrive until a second asking for it. Very poor service for an afternoon tea.
Relaxed atmosphere great service had a lovely afternoon
My party arrived at 4:30pm for a table booked for 5:00pm, I suggested we have drinks first because we’d arrived early and taken to table and drinks ordered. Meal time came and went and I had to ask them for menu’s because nobody came back after drinks delivered. Finally got mentions and once again nobody returned to take food order. In the end we payed for drinks and left to eat elsewhere.
Beautiful venue let down massively by very poor customer service, would never visit again.
Staff were lovely from the first communication when booking pleasant via email, on the phone and in person. Friendly service from every member of staff we came across. Lovely toilets, great atmosphere, great food and cocktails thank you for having us.
Great venue, good views across Leeds, very attentive staff - not as noisy as we'd feared it might be - a really lovely evening.
We waiting for our main meal for over 1 hour, two members of staff informed us that our meal would be out in 10-15 minutes (this took us to our 1.5 hour limit) and that our drinks would be extended due to time we was waiting however we didn’t receive any further drinks following this despite having empty glasses which was disappointing.
Don’t give out compensation if you have no intention of actually delivering it.
The food was also like warm but the time it attained which isn’t great.
