Exceptional in every way. Our food was delicious and there is a great kids menu, which our younger children loved. Excellent service and beautiful setting!
Great setting on the terrace.
Despite the fact that most restaurants are very short staffed, the service at Simon Pearce was quite good. The food was delicious. We both had the swordfish and the Vermont Cheese sampler.
We moved to NH from the NYC area 6+ years ago and have dined at numerous restaurants in the VT/NH border region (Woodstock, VT to New London, NH). My husband said it was the best meal that he has had in the Upper Valley. On a comparative basis with the NY Metropolitan area, I rate the food a 4. By Upper Valley standards, it would rate a 5.
I would definitely recommend Simon Pearce for both lunch and dinner. The setting on the Ottauquechee River is lovely
Our service was exceptional. Food presentation was elegant. Food portions were very generous without being food overload - definitely had take home from main course. Recipes were interesting with clear but subtle flavoring. Lovely evening.
Ambiance and location were just what we were looking for as tourists to the area.
Simon Pearce is a must stop if you are visiting the area. The shop is beautiful and the glassblowing on the lower level is incredibly cool! The restaurant is just ok. The food is very expensive, even for lunch. And we have lived in a couple of big cities (Boston; NYC) so we don’t mind spending money for good quality and delicious food.
We ordered the cheese plate and it was very good. The sampling of local cheeses was enough for 3 of us to share. I enjoyed my main meal (stuffed squash); however, my family did not enjoy theirs very much. The sesame chicken was dry and overcooked. The calamari was bland and also overcooked which made the texture very tough. I had one of their signature cocktails which was good and comparable in price to what you would expect for a specialty drink. Our server was pleasant and attentive.
If it wasn’t for the beautiful atmosphere and view of the waterfall, I would give The Mill a 2-star rating. In the future, we will shop in the store and watch the glassblowing, but will definitely skip the restaurant.
Lovely view, food was delicious; best lemon curd in my dessert I’ve ever had. One of my favorite places.
Delicious food in a beautiful spot! Helpful service and very fresh food.
As always, an excellent dining experience. Simon Pearce continues to be our go-to restaurant in the Upper Valley.
Excellent food, service and ambiance as usual.
Great food, great service, great location! The Vermont cheddar soup was outstanding, as were the salmon with couscous and the "confit duck open ravioli" - an imaginative and tasty presentation. The Pavlova dessert was best we've had in a long time.
Great setting for a delicious meal with quick and friendly service.
Beautiful location, great ambiance, wonderful service & the food is delicious! Only small downside is the bread starter, a little bland. Oh and the iced tea is one of my favorites! Enjoy!
Gorgeous venue, exceptional food snd service. Ask for a table bu the window.
Excellent in every respect. We even got a seat on the deck!
Been going to Simon Pearce for years and for years it’s been wonderful. Food is great, staff is friendly and attentive.
We were so lucky to be seated at our favorite romantic table! Thank you Simon Pearce for a lovely, delicious and very special dining experience. We will be back!
Excellent lunch! Loved the ability to reserve a time and table
we were visiting in vermont and made a reservation .
It definitely lived up to the hype! Food was excellent snd our table was in a perfect location to enjoy the falls. Would definitely return and would advise others to go.
Only suggestion wa
hold be to have lights on the water !
The food and ambiance of Simon Pearce is always outstanding. It was on our visit. Why the missing stars? I am a Celiac and cannot eat gluten. Yet on the main non desert menu only one (I think) offering didn’t have gluten. It was a green salad and I sure didn’t go there for that. The soup and sauces were thickened with it and several were “crispy” because of it. The waitress was helpful in negotiating work arounds, but they were just that and only half a short menu remained. There are too many of these days to be treated as if there were none. I, as a regular for decades, was disappointed. The flourless chocolate cake was outstanding!
We have been dining at Simon Pierce for many years with outstanding and memorable meals nearly every time. Yesterday was not one of those meals. A burnt quiche and a more burnt sesame chicken, both of which we have had before, would have been returned, except we had guests and did not want to disrupt a very pleasant conversation. A wildly overpriced cheese plate for an appetizer should have warned us this was not our old Simon Pierce restaurant. On the plus side, our waiter was responsive and unobtrusive, but it will be a while before we go back to this once favorite restaurant.
Loved everything about the place. Can’t wait to return !
Great service, food and ambiance!
Excellent cheese soup started our midday meal and we finished with maple creme brûlée and pavlova. The quiche of the day was excellent. We made our reservation well ahead of our visit and we’re given a table overlooking the waterfall and covered bridge. Andrew, our server, was knowledgeable, very friendly, and wasn’t at all pushy. He was always there when needed, and was very helpful.
A Simon Pearce meal is a special and memorable experience.
Beautiful restaurant and setting overlooking a waterfall.
Fabulous Food, service and view. What more could you ask for!
Any chance you get there is worth the drive
We had just a perfect family celebration for my son’s big milestone birthday as well as being all together for a getaway in Vermont. Everything about the dinner was perfect. We dined outside on the magnificent terrace over the water where the scenery was gorgeous. The food and service were both as good as it gets. Even the plates, glasses and other table items were gorgeous and all Simon Pierce originals. Of course we stopped in to see the glass blowing, which had just opened up from closure due to the Pandemic. I was able to buy a lovely bowl on their Seconds table and it still looked exquisite. My entire family rated this experience their #1 on our Vermont trip.
Best meal I ever had in Vermont.
Server did NOT wear a mask.
Was not friendly. Chicken was dry.
Large parties at table,
Crowded and noisy. Not pandemic aware.
Enjoyed the location and food.
A great meal, with a view to match! Simon Pearce never disappoints, and this trip was no different!
Food and service was wonderful. Lamb burger was exceptional. The creme brûlée, outstanding. Only suggestion would be to pipe in better music. Perhaps jazz or classical would be more appropriate for dining. An overall pleasant dining experience.
The food is always delicious, the service excellent and the views of the falls, the covered bridge and the Ottauquechee River are so relaxing.
Vacationing in Vermont. Lovely experience
Excellent meal and service! We always try to eat here when we are in the area. They never disappoint!
We so appreciated the "real food" menu for children in addition to the great menu for adults. Such an appealing dining experience watching the river and the water rushing over the falls. Attentive and congenial staff. Always a pleasure!
