Let me first say that the waitstaff was very good, very attentive and pleasant. However The menu was very limited and overpriced. All appetizers and drinks were $14!! Ridiculous! The decor looks like you’re eating in a warehouse and on top of that, they tried to seat me at a pub table despite the fact that I made a reservation two weeks in advance and then tried to say they had no regular tables. No one had asked me if I minded sitting at a pub table with my feet swinging off the ground! My party of 3 were 68 year olds and two were disabled. They should have said something at the time of the reservation. The appetizers weren’t bad except the chicken wings were undercooked. The rest of the food wasn’t that great sonNo reason to want to eat here again.
Service was lacking. "Special Occasion" selection was completely ignored. Not "waterfront" as described - regardless of rooftop or sidewalk seating. If you're friends with the staff you'll have a good time..... otherwise you might be trying your luck.
Amazing Staff, Ambience and food! Not only was the food amazing the staff was great.
Always great hospitality By the staff at sign of the whale. The managers are great, Bartenders are awesome, wait staff provide great service.
The biggest attraction to Brunch at Sign of The Whale is the Bottemless Mimosas. The fact that now not only I have to pay per bottle but also make my own drinks defeats the purpose of going out. On top of that the wait staff wouldn’t let us have an ice bucket to at least keep the bottles closed. Brunch used to be my favorite weekend activity with my friends but now Im going to have to wait till they go back to normal before I or the rest of my friends go back. All 5 of us felt the same way.
Nice rooftop setting. We sent our chicken appetizer back due to rubbery texture. Food was just average.
The advertised "water view" is obstructed by tall buildings around. We visited from NYC for the July 4th weekend and wanted to have some nice dining experience. This place is good for a quick cocktail, but if you are looking for an ambiance and the water view, there are plenty of other choices in this newly developed waterfront.
We ended up having a drink and a few appetizers and transferred to another venue for dinner - closer to the waterfront with tastier cocktails and better entree options, where we were able to watch the fireworks.
My boyfriend & I loved it here. It was our first time but we definitely will be going back!! Rooftop is beautiful. The only thing I will say is that I would prefer the music to be a little louder, it was a little hard to hear. I do understand that not everyone likes the music so loud but just a tad bit more on the volume it would’ve been perfect!
Not being a ‘detached’ millennial I find it seriously lacking when an uninformed waitress tells me I must order through my phone and internet because the restaurant does not have a physical menu and offer no further help or directions. I am one of the ‘buying’ public who does not spend all my energy on a phone screen and I prefer interpersonal communication from my server. To have to deal with a seemingly non-concerned, non interested, non-informative restaurant worker makes me want to seek establishments that indeed cater to their customers and not treat them as an an annoying inconvenience. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but that is the kind of service I and many other people who have the money to spend at their option, find abhorrent. What ever happened to “the customer is always right” ethic that was evident in most successful businesses? Millennials and owners of businesses who employ them need to learn it or resign to spending their days in the unrealistic ‘fake’ reality of unsuccessful cyber businesses who otherwise rely on humans for success and profitability. Get with human reality or get lost..,
It was so nice and the food was very good! The drinks were also great
Service was fast and polite. They followed protocol. Will come back soon.
We had a great time at sign of the whale. It started to rain so we had to move inside but the staff was really helpful moving us and the waitress made sure we didn’t get wet. Sign of the whale has been my favorite restaurant for years now and it was so nice to be back after reopening from
We enjoyed our meals, it was delicious. Service was good. Great to be able to get out!
Very attentive and enthusiastic service! Our server was awesome; food & drinks terrific.
I love sign of the whale, i recommend it. The food, the ambience is amazing.
Great food, friendly service & fun environment!
The rooftop deck is big and has plenty of room to feel distanced. The food is good and service was great. It's nice to sit down and have drinks and food at a restaurant again.
Service was slow despite being at less than 50% capacity. Server didn’t seem to want to be bothered. Summer ale was out of tap from night before but they never switched the keg or had another on site. Made a reservation for 6:30 but couldn’t get seated until 6:45, despite the fact that the hostess made sure to tell us there was a 90min max stay. As we approached that time they told us they might have to ask us to hurry so they could turn our table. If that was their policy, why wasn’t our table ready on time. Would not recommend
It was great ! My first time going to a restaurant post corona!!great service
I took my girlfriend to Harbor Point because I've heard that it's beautiful over there and we wanted to eat a good fish. Unfortunately service was poor and we had to wait 40 min for our food which wasn't so good as we expected after reading reviews online. I will not be back.
Amazing service. No beach view but nice breeze. We had a reservation at 2:30 but the sun hit us so it kinda sucks there no shade but depends where you get seated.
Great experience definitely will do it again.
Nice rooftop seating, but downside was not view of the water.
Everyone was really friendly
Food and drinks were delicious.
Was really happy with service during this COVID time.
Thank you to the staff for making us comfortable!
Always a great time!
Great place for date night after quarantine. Service was good, waiter forgot a few things that we put in the order but was sorry and ended up comping two of our drinks. Overall, it was great!
Great service, great food, and great ambiance.
Food was so good
Server was nice ( Dave )
Nice to be able to sit outside in their rooftop but otherwise nothing special.
Awesome rooftop. Great service. Good food. Nice atmosphere
Great food & good service. We had an excellent time!
amazing place to go especially after being in quarantine for 3 months food was good drinks were great everything felt good even with covid-19 still around i still felt safe with waiters having their mask on and the distance between tables
Food and service amazing roof top dining so nice highly recommend
Unfortunately it rained and they have no umbrellas so we were forced to pay our check and leave. The food and drinks are however always great and we love the atmosphere. They should invest in a covered space so we can enjoy the rooftop even in the rain!
Rooftop was excellent felt it was easy and not stressful during this strange rime
James was a great!
Dave our server was awesome! Friendly and efficient!
What a lovely experience my friends and I had here! Our waiter was great and easy to talk to, and made us want to come back in the future. Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re in Stamford! So excited to come back
They did an amazing job of making us feel welcome and were truly honoring all safety precautions. At no time did we feel unsafe. Excellent margaritas and delicious food!
The service here was outrageous!!! I specifically asked if the entrees would come after the appetizers and wanted time between the appetizers and main course. I was told yes of course. Wellllll sure enough the entrees arrived while we were still eating the appetizers. Such a disappointment and the staff were not that sorry. I’m a very frequent out of the house eater sooo this is not acceptable for me. I will say they gave 15% off the bill and the waiter gave 2 more wine drinks on him. Sadly they are not my pick for upcoming dinners. I can spend my dollars at Capital Grille where they appreciate people.
