Shaker + Spear
We came to Shaker + Spear the day that my fiancé and I got engaged. The staff was amazing, they made the experience so special, and the food was unbelievable. We could not have been more blown away by this experience. We will be back again and again!
The scallops are amazing! Every dish is flavorful and balanced with precise plating. Great place to go for dinner.
This restaurant is run by an amazing team of people. Food and service were second to none, despite the fact that Seattle is struggling just to survive right now. We were made to feel more like family than customers and will definitely return! Don't miss an opportunity to sample their delicious offerings. If you are fortunate enough to have Karen take care of you, know that you are in the best hands possible!
Shaker and Spear might be my favorite restaurant in Seattle
Enter restaurant from Virginia St.
Brunch was delicious, we had the Crab Cake Benedict and it was perfectly prepared, as well as the Bacon Cheeseburger with Onion Compote.
The Rosemary Popovers are a "must- have" during your visit!
Staff was professional and friendly. We will definitely return during our next Seattle trip.
Atmosphere, food and service is amazing. Get the Mac and cheese!
We stayed in Seattle for four nights and dined here twice--it is that good. Lovely lighting and warm ambiance in a sophisticated open kitchen restaurant. Craft cocktails, good wine list, delicious seafood, friendly and knowledgeable and attentive service. The ginger Brussel sprouts with chilis were fantastic, scallop dish and clam/sausage/linguine dishes were outstanding, our non-seafood friend enjoyed the burger with truffle fries. Try the coconut panna cotta dessert--unusual and delicious.
Brunch was amazing!! The Crab Benedict was one of the best I’ve had. Service also outstanding. Will definitely be back.
We love Shaker + Spear for everything from casual gourmet dining to bringing out-of-town guests for a special evening. Our go to dish of Arctic Char has revolved out but last night we dined on an incredible Scallop dish — perhaps the freshest & most flavorful scallops we’ve enjoyed in our far flung travels. You can’t go wrong with a host of many other menu offerings. Robyn as a server has always been great (among several others we’ve come to know and appreciate), and we still marvel when we have the opportunity to watch and listen to her at the next table run through introductory remarks to first time diners. Chef Carolynn, orchestrating the entire operation from her post at the end of the kitchen counter, ensures you’ll feel well taken care of with creative cuisine difficult to replicate on one’s own. Go & Enjoy!
Amazing food and even better company. Our server, Rose took the best care of us, made appropriate recommendations and my clients enjoyed it. There was something for everyone. My new go to in downtown Seattle.
Eggs Benedict eggs were overcooked to the point of being hard boiled for our entire table. That was the only disappointment.
fOOD WAS PHENOMENAL AND A GREAT SETTING. Spendy so great for a special occasion!
The best oysters we had all weekend, in fact, they were so good we had them twice.
Loved everything about our experience!
Best scallop dish I ever had. Highly recommend
The octopus appetizer was stellar. The service exceeded expectations, too.
Shaker + Spear was by far the best dining experience we had in Seattle. The hospitality was beyond everyday expectation and the food blew me away. The Sassy Peanut + Chili Shrimp was a knockout, the Charred Octopus was a showstopper and the Rosemary Popovers melted in my mouth. The cocktails were perfectly crafted and we felt well taken care of from start to finish. Can’t wait to return!
We were a party of 6 and each of us thought the food was outstanding. The octopus appetizer was fantastic. Everything was prepared so well. Among us we had scallops, linguini with clams, chicken and dumplings, and paella. Each was delicious and we all love the brussel sprouts. If you are going to splurge, this is a great choice.
I reserved a table for my husband and myself for dinner before a show at The Moore. Having never been before, I thought I would have to rely of reviews from other sites, but was happily surprised to have our server be so enthused and excited to tell us about the menu. We started with the Salted Cod Beignets, which were amazing. I had the Scallops and my husband ordered the Pallela, both were prepared and plated with such care (we were able to watch the whole preparation as we were seated near the open kitchen). The flavors were fantastic and the overall experience was wonderful. 10/10, will be back.
Awesome new menu items for the season still love the dynamite shrimp new add but the Dungeness crab salad is amazing plus the pinxtos inspired by Spain bar snacks.
We had such an amazing time here! The service and food were outstanding. My boyfriend looked up who the Chef is and turns out she came from Chateau Marmont in Hollywood and at one point trained under Bobby Flay at Mesa. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back if we’re out this area again in the future.
Great atmosphere in the heart of downtown. A creative and well executed menu offered an adventurous taste experience yet kept things familiar and approachable. Definitely looking forward to my next opportunity to eat here.
It’s my daughter’s 21st birthday and it was a great experience. We reserved for 9:30pm and came in a little earlier. We waited at the bar by the lounge and had a drink. Before we got our drink, our table was ready. We ordered a dozen of oysters which are really sweet and fresh, you won’t even need lemons with it... which got us to order another dozen!!!
We did a family style and ordered branzino, whole snapper and paella!!! Everything was perfect... the taste, the amount of food and the service was superb!!! There’s nothing else I can ask for. We finished with a really good dessert and they even put candles for my daughter’s birthday. I would definitely go back here. Thank you a Robin for taking care of us!!!
Grilled octopus and whole snapper. You won’t regret those!
I was there for brunch. Excellent but I spent $100 just for me. That is way too expensive for one person!!!
Delicious and creative offerings, genuine and efficient staff.
Such a great experience! Our server was excellent. She was so enthusiastic, described the food so deliciously, and answered our questions thoughtfully. We went in Friday, 2/7th. Lived the Parmesan truffle fries, paella, crab salad (so good!), and everything else we ordered. Will definitely go back!
Outstanding food and service! Very nice environment as well.
You are always warned about the restaurant attached to hotel...Shaker + Spear vanquishes that myth. Our server, Rose, was passionate about everything S+S. She was so authentic-she liked working there-refreshing.
On to the food, started with the octopus app-delicious-done just right. Friend had the paella..a tad too moist for my friend...but the ingredients and combination was excellent-everything shined but complimented the other. Scallops unbelievable-fresh, huge, tasty...dessert-creme caramel with crispy cookie...interesting tart apple sorbet choice...might have gone with a rich vanilla ice cream but still a very guilty pleasure.
So good we returned for a second late night dinner at the bar. Josh directed us to the sardine starter and fried snapper main...wow.
Worth the stars...
This restaurant was such a blast! I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday as the last stop on a day of fun adventures. We ordered the crab dip and crackers, octopus starter, whole snapper, seafood paella, truffle fries, and creme caramel! Everything from start to finish was impeccable but my favorites were the octopus and Thai-seasoned snapper. Not to mention, the server was so sweet and enthusiastic, she seemed to really enjoy her job and was incredibly helpful with suggestions for dishes. It was a bit of a risk to venture out of our typical celebratory dinners at John Howie or Daniel’s - but I am so, so glad we did. Without a doubt I will be suggesting this to friends and putting it on the list to come back to soon!
We had a fantastic experience the other evening. Food, drink and service were outstanding. My husband and I both had the arctic char which was cooked perfectly, and my husband inhaled his lamb meatball appetizer.
The service, though, really made our evening. We told the host we were going to a concert at the theater across the street after we ate. He mentioned he wasn’t aware of a show there, and later came by to update us that in fact our concert was at a different venue across town. The host had already asked the kitchen to speed up our order, and our server made sure we got out promptly to make our show. Such thoughtful and friendly service made it a wonderful experience, and we made our concert on time!
Interesting and delicious food. Great service. We were in a hurry, we’re given food recommendations that allowed us to make our show and still enjoy a relaxing meal.
Excellent food and service. Our server Katie was particularly efficient and friendly. We are already looking at a date to go back, this time with friends.
Party of 2 reservations for 545pm prior to a 7pm show at the Moore... Seated on time without any issue even though they were fairly packed... Cannot say enough about our server being FANTASTIC!!! (I will update once I paw through receipts & find his name)... Great recommendations & very accommodating for dietary restrictions (I'm a pain & well aware)... Will definitely revisit:D
Had a great meal with outstanding service.
Very well situated when seeing a show at the Moore theater. Nice ambience.
Great place, outstanding service and very attentive service. Will be back!
Kate was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing!!!
This modern restaurant can compete with the best restaurants around the world (including those in my Melbourne hometown).
