Interesting menu. Friendly service. Food was good but expensive. $26 cheese plate appetizer had miniscule cheese portions.
I had sent a separate email
To ask about vegan options so was surprised that I never received a reply. Once there, I asked the waiter about the antipasti plate and if the pea purée had dairy in it. He went to ask kitchen and came back and said yes it did.......but offered no alternative or options.
Ended up having a bland, unseasoned soup for started and an even more bland over cooked pasta dish that they just removed cheese from.
Kind of uninspiring and a little disappointing given last time I dined the kitchen seemed to go out of their way for me (as did the floor staff).
A little over priced for an average experience.
It’s all about the chicken. Friendly service and comfortable surroundings help too. But chicken!
Charming candlelit ambiance. Gorgeous space, amazing Italian Food and great service.
Couldn’t be better! Will be back soon!
Creative and always better than I anticipate...really worth going to just to eat, but for us, it is always a prelude to 92 Y.
The food was as amazing as usual. Unfortunately one table of guests insisted on shouting the entire evening.
Excellent service , impeccable food ...you can tell the wait staff is proud to work there ... a wonderful dining experience!
The restaurant was spacious and clean with beautiful wood tables. When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff. The food was excellent from the appetizers to and, including, the desert, and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Honestly, it was just ok. Not great, except for the service which was attentive but not over anxious. The Bolognese lacks meat and is heavy on the cream. It’s nice. It’s not $42 of nice regardless of the hand crafted pasta. The dining was hot and stuffy and there were only 7 diners. Not living up to the hype.
We came to Sfoglia for a 25th birthday celebration, which the staff made feel even more special by their constant care, attention, and friendly demeanor. We were helped not only by our server, but by the manager of the establishment (who brought out our birthday dessert). It was a lovely experience overall and perfect for celebrating a special occasion.
A beautiful hidden gem of the UES. Perfect for a lovely special occasion or just a romantic evening with a loved one.
I love this place: the food, the ambiance, the service. Can’t go wrong!
Never dissappoints the meal was delicious and the staff was knowledgeable as well as friendly, we really enjoyed our anniversary dinner.
Everything about this small gem of a restaurant is first class. Our group of 4 had a wonderful experience with a knowledgeable waiter, extraordinary food and a visit from the owner .
Food and service were a 10. Selection of vodka was somewhat limited. I enjoyed the intimacy and feel. As it’s “in the neighborhood” I look forward to returning.
Wonderful intimate spot
I’ve been here many times over the last five years and the overall experience has declined on my last two visits.
Pasta seriously undercooked. Scallops in a red sauce not a great idea. Service awkward and confused.
Classics like chicken under a brick, veal Milanese, fettuccine bolognese are a bit tired but more reliable choices than the over-thought and poorly executed specials.
One of the few high quality restaurants on UES. Italian menu varied and wonderful. A warm, friendly atmosphere.
This fantastic Upper East Side spot is perfect for a romantic evening or to just enjoy phenomenal Italian food. I ordered the pappardelle alla Bolognese and it was delicious. I also recommend the poached rock shrimp. The service was excellent and the wait staff even gave complementary digestifs during dessert to welcome my girlfriend and I to the neighborhood! Definitely check this place out!
Amazing restaurant with fantastic food- from someone who grew up in Italy, I can confidently say that this is the most authentic restaurant I've been to in the United States. Love!
The food was good and ambitious. The ambience was interesting(rustic). However the service was slow and inattentive(asked for a second glass of wine and never got it. Didn't see the waiter enough to ask again). Had to finally ask the waiter why main course was taking so long. Shouldn't have to wait a half hour after salad. The restaurant was full and uncomfortably noisy so that it was hard to hear the person sitting next to me and had to lean over and talk loud to be heard.
So all in all, good food but too noisy and not great service. They don't handle the crowds as well as they should. I probably won't go back. Too uncomfortable to talk.
Exceptional food, excellent service
The pasta dish with sausage and strawberries was too sweet for my taste. The pasta seemed a little over cooked. The sausage was delicious. The salad and rose were excellent.
Great food, excellent service. We will definitely be back.
Very pretty as well as comfortable atmosphere. Service was great. Enjoyed all our appetizers. We shared the chicken and pasta bolognese. Best chicken We ever tasted. Loved the pasta. Desert strawberry torte was yummy.
Daniel, our waiter was excellent
The food was delicious
had a great meal....first, I always love being served hot bread and you got it here...we had the flatbread which was delicious; clams and the pasta bolognese...then we proceeded to the branzino....we finished with their special dessert...loved everything...lovely atmosphere.
Love this restaurant and it’s innovative approach to food. However, last night I felt the service was a little rushed. Not enough time to choose or savor before wait staff wanted to whisk away dishes. However, had the best strawberry tart ever for dessert!
Fantastic, intimate restaurant. Wonderful people and top shelf food
Very nice wait staff, pleasant place though extremely noisy. Food was disappointing. Fish (branzino) was clearly pre-cooked & dry. Pasta (fusilli) was also blander than it should have been. Overpriced for what it was.
It would be so wonderful if chairs were more comfortable.
Sflogia has a unique menu - their signature chicken is tender and delish but it comes on a plate, period, without even a garnish, so sides are a must. This night it was loud and busy and service was more spotty than usual but everyone is friendly and there are always a lot of regulars. It's a neighborhood favorite and reservations in advance are required. Fun place for a group dinner or brunch too.
Food always excellent. Unfortunately they don’t have the bread pudding in the summer... but they have excellent fruit tarts that they bake and serve while still hot: amazing!
The dinner was fantastic. Our server was incredible and explained away all the questions we had. As this was our first time we were curious about all the pastas offered and he explained how the menu changes and some are seasonal offerings. We will definitely be back to try even more of the delicious food here!!
Food was very mediocre. Sounded good on menu but less than average. Very expensive. Much better restaurants in the neighborhood.
Ambiance was great. Service was .... good. Food. Was. Terrible. My Bolognese was salty and the pasta was way over cooked. My husbands duck sausage pasta was decent at best but the broccoli rabe that was a major part of the dish was really bitter. We went not to celebrate but to have dinner and drinks. We each had a drink. Ate some of the food but busted out. We had high hopes.
Fusilli al buco was amazing with corn and delicious homemade ricotta coming back for more very soon c
